    That is in fact a black tabby, as its stripes are black! :D

    Another more common name for black tabbies is brown tabbies, even when the "background" between the stripes is gray instead of brown.

    Kits with white markings can have any realistic eye color. Kits without white markings can have any realistic eye color except blue.

    Kits with white markings can have low white (mostly colored, some white parts) or high white (mostly white, some colored spots).

    All kits will be longhaired.

    this is pirate shifter ebony way, captain of the Deathless. under the hat and badass longcoat she's got the ears and tail of some sort of tortie/torbie-patterned Big Cat. when she's pissed (in any meaning of the word), her eyes turn deep crimson red.

    raca's animal form is of course much smaller and scrawnier and meeker than this. but the markings are accurate at least.


    besides i absolutely had to use this manga maker page somehow because it's amazing. also it was a huge plot twist and also they made the werewolf big and buff and not sexualized which is really good and better than rinmarugames usually does.

    i think they would be very physical friends. caesi will hug or hang off of anyone who's comfortable with it, and andrea was touch starved bc he does Not like being touched by people he isn't already friends with and he has a hard time making friends, but he Is friends with caesi so he's happy with it

    obnoxious straight people mistake them for a couple but no. they're just best friends



    caesi and andrea in middle school or so, before they met. (also before caesi hit a growth spurt and got super tall lol.)


    andrea is a lonely quiet kid hiding in his books and his music and his head. caesi is too absorbed in her various academic interests to be lonely but she doesn't have any close friends either.


    on the first day of ninth grade, this will change.

    the sole excuse for this randomass bodyswap au is that the avatar maker had more raca-ish clothes/hair/expressions for the girl on the right, and more mau-ish expressions for the - actually meant to be a guy but pretend it's a flat figured girl, i.e. raca - on the right. so i was like what the heck just flip them. maybe they were cursed by a witch or something idk. also this one didn't let me hide the human ears ugh.


    update: they have found whoever cursed them and that person is in for a world of hurt

    btw as for their animal sides, the animal personality got swapped along with the human personality but the animal body stayed with the human body. so raca can now turn into a skittish, lonely, self-hating black tigress and mau can turn into a passionate, irritable wolf/lynx mishmash. raca is really hoping mau's beast doesn't have the opportunity to realize what she is.

    idk why raca (in mau's body) is hurt but let's roll w it. things about this:

    - i spent ages trying to condense raca's words and thoughts to fit into those speech bubbles

    - it should be obvious but in case it's not, raca's voice is dripping with irony and ever so slightly strained.

    - she's had worse, she thinks to herself. nevertheless, the "it'll heal fine" should have a silent "(probably.)" that i couldn't fit.

    - hesitated for ages between "...your precious skin" and "...your perfect skin" and eventually decided to go with the freudian slip one. like raca is still being sardonic as hell here but she's also in moderate pain and her filter is starting to slip.

    - i didn't write what mau's saying because she is Not Mine but i'm imagining her being (hypocritically?) pissed at raca getting herself hurt


    raca to mau: i cant believe you fucking cut my hair. yes i know we're "on the lam" and need to "not be recognized". but it's my hair you don't just cut it, what do you fucking think we are? lovers???


    this is a physical representation of the bodyswap curse binding them, nothing more ;). i have no idea why they're in fancy dress though

    labno design based on a dream i had. i'm not satisfied with it, the hair is wrong. he doesnt have those bald sides, it was a misguided attempt to make it visibly different from raca's. but it should be elaborate cornrows in his family's pattern (house dira). i dont remember why he's holding an arrow

    ten is none of these things, but she and raca are the endgame ship of this au, make of that what you will i guess

    jealousy, like a light on the dashboard, is a signal that there is something going on with your emotions that you need to check out. raca is going to do the emotional equivalent of putting duct tape over the light

    also that fox guy has a name but i forget what it is. i drew a picture of him though. he's an arctic fox and his animal form has green eyes.


    there are some other shifterverse ocs i dont have pictures of:


    - jiana: lucian's handler/contact. a fold-eared black longhair domestic cat living in deep cover in the canine kingdom. her floppy ears allow her to pass as a dog, but she also has chronic osteoarthritic pain from the same mutation.


    - zerda: raca's maidservant. fennec fox. slightly older than raca. expert in the art of plausibly deniable, lightly implied disagreement/insults/"i'm-not-going-to-say-it-because-i-like-having-a-job-but-that's-ridiculous" - raca learned from her example, but still gets it used on her. one of her mothers (not the biological one) is "of Golden Island", ie a fox hybrid. hidden depths, or at least, hidden from raca.


    - madame velox: raca's second self-defense instructor. swift fox. early forties. is 4'6" (not counting the ears) but if you piss her off her icy glare will make you feel like the small one. her life story is FASCINATING and i have no idea what it is. i picture her with a russian accent for some reason even though there is no russia in fantasy shifter land


    - niveus of house draug: arctic wolf, 36, russata's younger brother, raca's uncle. might be trying to pull a morgan fey on behalf of his younger child, 3-year-old ronen (arctic wolf, house draug), in the wch au. (little does he know that, assuming raca got married anytime in the next 3 years, she would have adopted little ronen as the heir anyway because she's supposedly infertile.)


    - a random Spitz (specific breeds of dog don't exist, but landraces do)


    - novacula: groomer/barber with a side gig in helping hybrids pass as canine. huge white fluffy cloud of a dog, but in human form they're only like 5'3". curt, often talks in sentence fragments

    Tabbies can be rosetted, marbled, classic-spotted, or classic pattern.

    Kits can be longhaired or shorthaired.

    Kits will probably show Maine Coon breed traits but could also show some Bengal traits.


    As for giantism/acromegaly, it can be genetically linked but it can also be sporadic, so it's up to you whether you want some of the kits to inherit it. (Obligatory disclaimer that feline acromegaly always co-occurs with treatment-resistant diabetes.)

  • Genetic Help - Point Color

    Point is a recessive mutation. This means that it can be "carried", that is, if a cat has only one copy of the point mutation, then it will not be point, but it can still pass the point gene on to its kittens. A cat will only be visibly point if it has two copies of the point mutation.


    There is no way, short of a genetic test, to tell if a cat carries point or not. Most cats do not carry point, outside of a few breeds where the mutation is common in the gene pool such as Orientals. Breed ID isn't my strong point, but it doesn't look like the female is from any of those breeds, so it is fairly safe to assume she probably does not carry point. So it isn't likely for there to be point kittens, although all the kittens will carry the point mutation.


    As for other genes: The male may carry dilute from his mother (50% chance that he does), and should definitely carry solid from his mother. The female may or may not carry solid, and likely carries nonsilver (though it's possible that she doesn't).


    These are the most likely possibilities for the kittens, from most to least likely for each sex:


    Females: silver torbie, torbie; (if the male carries dilute) dilute silver torbie, dilute torbie; (if the female carries solid) tortie smoke, tortie; (if the male carries dilute AND the female carries solid) dilute tortie smoke, dilute tortie


    Males: silver tabby, brown tabby; (if the male carries dilute) blue silver tabby, blue tabby; (if the female carries solid) black smoke, black; (if the male carries dilute AND the female carries solid) blue smoke, blue


    The convenient thing about this litter is that (barring any very rare abnormalities) you will be able to tell the sex of each kitten from its pattern.


    As for eye colors, since the kittens cannot be point, they will not have blue eyes like the father. (Of course their eyes will be blue when they first open, but their adult eye color won't be blue.) Beyond that eye color genetics isn't understood enough to predict.

    Shybloom will carry either point or sepia, but not both. It depends on whether Shy is genetically related to Obsidianstorm or to Lilystar respectively.


    I'll do the litter twice, once with Shy carrying point and once with carrying sepia, and you can pick the version you prefer.
