Paying no attention to the young feline, Eaglepaw continued. "Rabbits are food, and we eat food, and we need to eat to live! I'll be taking this catch back to the Clan, thankyouverymuch. You're not going to let four-moon-olds go hungry because this thing is fluffy, are you?" the tabby growled, taking a defiant step towards Mockingpaw.

Dippng her dark head in respectful agreement, Eaglepaw followed the tom into the privacy of the den. Turning to face her leader, the apprentice of Bengaltiger continued. "I'm worried about the well-being of RiverClan, sir. We accept any and all species to our alliance, correct? Well, I'm hesitant to whether or not we should do that anymore. I'm not trying to make any executive decisions, but I was thinking, why do we let prey into the Clan? Animals, especially the hunted, are known to adapt easily to varying climates. And naturally, if, say, a rabbit joined our ranks, it would be worried about the well-being of it's own Cla- well, species. So naturally, wouldn't they want to tell their own kind that it would be safe here? Predators would starve if they weren't allowed to eat any food, and that includes innocent queen, kits, and elders." she paused momentarily for a breath. She had just pretty much talked non-stop for a minute. "I mean. . . Sorry." the soon-to-be-warrior trailed off.

[fancypost bgcolor=white; opacity: .50; width: 250px; border-radius: 5px;][justify]Eagle nodded, happily turning and trotting off towards the river without a backwards glance. Maybe five minutes later, the tabby was silently stalking a small black figure. Flexing her claws, she crawled forward until she was maybe a foot behind it. Then the Polish-accented cat let out a growl just loud enough for the fowl to hear, immediately sending it into flight. But that was intentional. Lunging forward, she smacked the blackbird's head and it fell to the ground. Wasting not a moment, the apprentice sthrust her paw onto the prey's tail, while using her free psw to snap it's neck. Smiling proudly, the tabby lifted her catch in her jaws. The entire process had taken no more than six seconds, and made about as much noise as stepping on a twig. Her first perfect catch.

She rolled the tom onto his belly, pretending to scratch at it. Springing back, she helped the tom back up and waited for him to strike.

The noon sun proudly floated high in the sky. Probably the last of the summer heat for a while. You could already see the river speeding up, the leaves on the few trees in RiverClan territory turning yellow around the edges. Autumn was coming soon.
It was a fishing kind of day. As she pushed her way towards the river, the tabby accidentally cut a certain scar on her nose open unintentionally on a reed, similar to what Twolegs would call a papercut. Trying to ignore the blood dripping onto her paws, the apprentice of Bengaltiger pushed her way through the reeds, not knowing how bad it really was. Feeding the Clan issuing more important that a measly scratch. the soon-to-be-warrior thought.
But she had actually opened up a deep scar, leaving a trail of blood behind her. Finally reached the water, she sat down, reaching a dark paw into the water lightning-fast. She pulled out a salmon, pushing it to the side with a snap of it's neck. Looking back down, Eaglepaw gasped- the river was scarlet. And she was upstream.
-
Head snapping up to the tom, Eaglepaw seemed surprised. Suddenly, all of her hairs stood on end, as if there was a ghost right behind her. Coldplay's mark. . .but she couldn't mention that.
"Oh, yeah, well uh. . ." the Polish accented cat scrambled for words as she took a step back. "I accidentally. . .cut myself on a reed." It was at least partly true. The dark tabby stood rigid, as if she was afraid that she was inches from death. Suddenly, she felt a strong urge to run away as fast as she could.
But instead of forcing her to flee, the adrenaline swept her entire life before her eyes. ". . ." she stared distantly and blankly into her superior's eyes, apparently awaiting a response from the tom.
-
A bolt shot through her body, apparently filling the she-cat with immense pleasure. She had waited so long, trained so hard. . .for this moment. Finally, she could serve her Clan to the best of her ability- and whether or not she rose to the top, Eaglepaw would stay loyal to RiverClan forever. "Bengaltiger. . .I don't know what to say. Other than. . .ohthankyouthankyousoverymuch aiee!" the official soon-to-be-warrior straigtened up. "But. . .it's kind of sad to think about. I love training with you, Bengaltiger. I don't think I've ever had so much fun with anyone else in my life!"
-
Eaglepaw dipped her head once more in agreement. "Thank you, Rangerstar sir. I'll be heading out, then."
-
ooc: Would you mind if Bengaltiger did her ceremony? That would be very. . .special, wouldn't it?
