Okay, how about this? He's an Airbender who rejected the ways of the Nomads, and came to the UE. He's a bounty hunter, who's working with the UE because they pay him, even though he knows they'll try to kill him after the job's done, which is why A) he doesn't get along with the rest of the team, B) why he has an awesome plan to escape and C) (if I'm roleplaying him) I get to roleplay awesome alternate airbender styles.

Okay.. Here we go!
Lien opens one eye. He is sitting on a rock, meditating. Or, he was. Behind him, a familiar voice says quietly, "Treachery, Lien? I can think of many suitable insults to staple to your name, but traitor wasn't one of them."
Lien sighs. "Hey, Mal." He says, equally quietly. "Fancy meeting you here."
"You knew we were trying to find this place. Why did you come here?"
"Because you're going to kill innocent people. I can't let that happen."
Although he hasn't yet turned around, Lien feels Mal's face harden into a steely frown. "Then I suggest you warn those monsters. You have five minutes."
Then she's gone.
Lien frowns, and stands up. He starts running, towards the sand pit.Mal walks back into the camp some ways away, her face still one of iron. "Get ready." She tells her strike team. "We mobilize in three minutes."
-
Mal glowers at Torrick. "By the time he gets them ready for any sort of combat, we'll have already crushed them." She does not need to tell the genius who 'he' is-Torrick was the one who let slip that the traitor was probably in the hideout. "Stay alert. Captain Jhann is waiting with his ships, to catch any who attempt to escape that way, but it's up to us to keep them out of the forest. Torrick's right; show no mercy." She walks over to Daikaku, "Wake up, old man. We're leaving." She wouldn't have brought him, if the UE had a better scout. Which they don't.
Lien pants, ignoring Lars' glare. "You have a warning system, right?" He asks the sandbender.
"Um. Yes?" Lars replies. "Bukkan is on watch, and he has a-"
"Not enough. We need to get to the camp." Lien seems to be legitimally worried, an unusual sight. "The UE's here. We need to hurry. Come on!" He pelts off, and Lars' fox follows. Lars shugs, glancing at Petra with a frown on his face. -
Mal nods, turning away from the older man and standing over near Torrick, still frowning. She looks up into the sky, waiting, waiting, counting... "Go." She says, nodding to the team, and then turns, heading towards the camp.
"Because they told me-well, I expected it, they've been trying to find this place for months-but of course Torrick knew where the camp would be. He just followed the same signs I did. I just thought we'd have an extra day. Hey!" This is yelled at the people of the camp, who only spare him a brief glance before turning back to what they were doing. "...Lars...?"
The sandbender raises an eyebrow, but then he hears a ship's cannons. The sound resonates through the camp, causing many people to look up fearfully. "LISTEN UP!" He shouts. "I HOPE YOU ALL REMEMBER YOUR DRILLS. BECAUSE THIS IS NOT ONE." He turns to Lien. "How much time do we have?"
Lien shakes his head. "Less than a minute." -
Lien pauses to take a breath. "Lars, get everyone together. Take everyone who can't fight, and try to escape through the tunnels. Be prepared for an ambush, though... Those who want to fight should stay up here, but know that if and when things go south, they're to surrender." Lars nods, and runs into the crowd. Lien turns to Petra. "You're with me. See if you can find the others, and let me know if you see... An angry bald girl with a sword." He turns and surveys the camp.
Mal nods. "He'll be with her. If he's smart." Which they both knew he was. They were nearing on the camp now, and she could already see the benders getting ready for an attack. Maybe they weren't so annoyingly ignorant as she sometimes thought.
Ember, quick question, are we saving the Avatar reveal for prison, or for now? And I have another idea I want to throw at you, coming in a PM very shortly.
-
Okay!
Lien nods. "Right." He ducks underneath a tree, weaving throughout the tree trunks and the big rocks, looking for a safe haven to-
-Mal knees the traitor right in a soft spot I won't mention. Somehow, he remains standing, but he doubles over. "I found them!" She shouts to Torrick, then levels her sword at Petra. "Don't move." She says calmly. -
Sorry for not responding!!!!! I've had zero muse for this site the last couple of days, which is something that happens when I come up with a game concept that I'd like to work on.
INCIDENTIALLY,
is there someone here who'd be interested in helping with programming, art, music, or something else? So far anything we'd do would be just for fun, but I am looking for people to work with. Even if there is no money involved, and we might never ship a finished product.Anyways, IC post coming soon!

Lien straightens up, still wincing. "Hey, Torrick... Mal... You're looking fine. Fancy meeting you here." He groans. Mal pays him no notice, instead smirking at this young Earthbender who challenged her.
"Cute, princess. I hope you live up to that statement." She cracks her neck, and steps foward. "Torrick, make sure Lien doesn't make it back. I'd hate for him to actually come up with a good idea."
Lien glances at Petra, a frown on his face. Calculating. He couldn't be the only reason both Mal and Torrick came specifically for them... Which means that... They'll take Petra alive. Bruised, but alive. He turns and bolts, wobbling a bit. -

Awesome! If all goes well tonight, I should have a thread on this site for this very purpose. I'll send you the details later. Be warned that these ideas so far are pretty barebones so far, so I'm happy to get any feedback you can provide!
-
Umm... So, this post is just to get this thread up, as I don't really have that much time right now. But this is it! I made it! Yayyyy! :P

The cannon shots had come from the coast, which meant that the river was the safer bet. Lien does feel kind of bad about leaving Petra, but hopefully she can hold her own for long enough. He just needs to take care of Torrick, maybe make sure the others are okay... He skids a little bit, seeing that he almost missed the river, and ends up sliding off of the bank and into the water. He turns, glancing up at his pursuer.
Mal sheathes her sword. "I'll make this fair." She says, entering a defensive stance. "Come at me." She tells the other girl, obviously confident in her abilities. "I might even let you get a free hit or two in.

Okay. So, right now I have two game ideas bouncing around. They both involve RPG style stuff, as they both stemmed from me realizing that RPG Maker was only seventy dollars and, assuming I don't blow my entire allowance at Anime Boston, I could get it within a few months.
The first is more interactive story than true RPG, and in a few broad strokes, it's basically a space opera world, set on a specific planet that is on the brink of war. A diplomat from the interplanetary alliance called Scion (the player character, haven't decided her name yet) goes down to attempt to stop the planet's native Alhallva, a type of plant people, from going to war. However, the diplomatic talks backfire, and one side (haven't decided yet whether it's two sides of Alhallva, or one side are invaders from another planet.) one side attacks, ending the talks, and the majority of the game is this diplomat and a young Alhallva she saves from the attack trying to escape the planet, and/or trying to stop the war. -
Ohai, Selensya!
-
Of course, neither of these ideas need to be made in RPG Maker, that was just the engine that spawned these ideas.
-
My second idea is a bit more traditional, as far as RPG's go, and it'll probably actually involve RPG-style combat (oh, right, the other one wasn't going to have any traditional combat. Forgot to mention that). The idea for this one is that you are an adventurer who has come to the island city of Balin's Worth (that name was given to me by a friend I haven't seen in a while, so it might not be the final name), seeking something that we (the player) dont know about, and they end up helping lots of people, and at the end (spoilers!) the island is sunk by someone the hero thought was a friend, and they have to fight to stop the city from having the same fate as Atlantis of old
-
That's just a couple of broad overviews, and I have a lot more stuff on these, so if you have questions, feel free to ask. Honestly, I think I'm best at coming up with things when people ask me things I hadn't thought about right on the spot, so don't worry about that... ^_^
-
Awesome!
Thank you! The idea I had was a bit more fantasy/magic than that movie (although there was a fair bit of magic in that movie, though.) -
Oh. Um. Thank you. You're too kind. >< I would do either of them myself, as I came up with them. I don't have a preference, as they're both awesome. But we should probably decide on one of them... I suppose... Also, please anyone feel free to add anything on, if you have a cool idea... I would create a Google Drive, but I don't know if I would be able to get onto a proper computer enough, so this'll have to do for now.

The Atlantis one works!!! I like the idea of a riddle, or something. I know opening scrawls are something you're only supposed to work on after you've got the rest of the game worked out, but it'd be pretty cool to have this one be about the fall of Atlantis... It might be cool to even have quotes from Plato's telling of the story... And then give the player a cryptic clue that hints at things they'll be doing...
It would also be cool to tell the story of the fall of Atlantis throughout the game, and have it be mirrored by the events in Balin's Worth... Sorry. Rambling.
