Kestrelspeckle, if he was an actual enemy, wouldn't have expected her attack. Her sudden speed and weight against his shoulders sent him backwards.
"Good, if I was an enemy, you would have the upper hand, having me pinned down and such. You could claw at the stomach, insult me, spit and claw at the face; anything until mercy is granted or the cat excapes your grasp."
-
Turning with all his might, he knocked Wildpaw off of him and hopped to his feet, shaking the snow off of his pelt. "If the cat is faster and is coming at you, try and sidestep or brace yourself as hard as you can. If you do end up being pinned down, kick or claw at the enemy's stomach or squirm." he added, with a little lash of the tail.
"Tell me, what can you do to a cat that's smaller than you?" Kestrel asked her.
-
"Yup, bring up all your weight and bam. Plop right on top of them, good job." Kestrelspeckle purred, sitting down on a nearby log. "Name what you think you can do if you're fighting with a warrior bigger than you."
-
Kestrelspeckle was proud of her listening skills. "Well done, Wildpaw. That is really all the basics, in fact. You're strong and sturdy, which makes fighting much less complicated." he explained in a matter of fact tone, flicking his tail over the snow. "If a cat is faster than you, it will most likely use claws attacks, which won't work good. When dealing with fast ones, make sure you strike when time is right and strike hard."
-
Kestrelspeckle took a second to think some more. "Any questions? If not, we can practice." he smiled, waiting for a response from her. She was very bright.
(OCC: Late response, sorry. ;w; )
-
"Okay, let's begin then." Kestrelspeckle nodded, getting to his paws and waiting for Wildpaw's first attack. This was considerably exciting for Kestrel, and he was anticipating what she'd do.
-
Kestrelspeckle, unable to duck under her or jump over her, took the blow as he tumbled backwards. He grabbed onto her shoulders as he flipped, however, and ended up on top of her, using her weight to counter the pin. "Don't pounce, Wildpaw, that involves a little jump which can let the enemy duck under you or use the extra energy to flip you over. Strike instead, stay grounded." he explained while his paws were firmly planted onto her shoulders.
(OCC: When I would fight others in RP's, they would use every wrong word against me. |D Makin' sure you know to not mix up words. 'Cause it's annoying when they point it out.)
-
(OCC: /dies I guess I was supposed to respond. SUPER LATE, sorry. cx)
Kestrelspeckle blinked, too anxious to wait up. And he wanted to see how deep the snow was; with his luck, it would probably be to his belly. And when he would arrive back to the camp and he's soaked to the skin, Starclan would decide to make it really cold and windy. Kestrel assumed he had bad luck; a black cloud following him wherever he went, he called it. Shaking his head, he looked to Violeteyes.
"Hey, I-I'm gonna go on ahead. You probably want some time with Russetcloud, anyways." Kestrelspeckle laughed uncertainly, inching towards the door. "Okay?"
She didn't know if she wanted him to go with her or not. Kestrelspeckle truly hoped that Violeteyes stomach hurt because she was thinking about it; but that's probably wishful thinking. Kestrelspeckle reluctantly trusted the sinking feeling in his chest. And with that, he waited on her response.
-
"Well. Keep on attacking, and don't stop when I talk to you. Pretend I'm an enemy." Kestrelspeckle meowed, pushing onto her shoulders harder. "Now, to get me off."
-
"Well, we're certainly going to head to the camp first, to check with the medicine cat." Kestrelspeckle meowed with a nod, ducking out of the shelter. "I'll just meet you guys at the camp." he muttered, walking through the snow in the direction of his mountainous civilization.
And the snow was deep, of course.
(OCC: Short, I know.)
-
Feeling a strong kick at his stomach, Kestrelspeckle bounced off of her and coughed, regaining his composure as he kept watch of Wildpaw.
-
Feeling how grounded she was compared to him after the blow, he was flung backwards, hitting the ground.
-
"Depends. Wanna stop by the camp or just get going?" Kestrelspeckle asked her, his eyes still focused in front of him as he spoke. "Because the snow is deep. It doesn't bother me any, but I'm asking you." he added, raising his tail to keep it out of the snow.
(OCC: That's fine. c: )
-
"No!" Kestrelspeckle snapped, shaking his head hastily. "No panting. That lets the enemy know you're getting worn out. But you can pant around me; just not around an enemy." he laughed, his voice a bit softer.
-
"Now, if an enemy is faster AND stronger than you, don't fight him!" Kestrelspeckle snickered, using this chance to push Wildpaw off of him, his feet pressing against her stomach as she was lifted up.
-
Kestrelspeckle stopped, looking Violeteyes up and down. She was up to her neck in snow. Her whiskers were snowy. And she would rather carry on? He blinked.
"Are you sure?"
-
Kestrelspeckle examined the battered, cold plant in Violeteye's jaws. It looked like a common summer type herb in the mountain; not any that would heal an infection, however.
"It looks like ragweed. Ragweed gives strength, but that's it. It's probably no good, but if you wanna chance it, that's fine." he shrugged, taking one more look at it before heading on.
"All the mountainous things here just don't work. We have ragweed, lambs ear, also eaten for energy, and wintergreen; which I'm not too sure about." Kestrelspeckle grumbled, hoping to find some sweet sedge downwards on the mountain. That'd be nice, the sap is very sweet and downs infection. It'd be what they needed. He continued on, day dreaming.
-
"Never. Ever. Fight. Alone." Kestrelspeckle added, hopping to his paws. "You never know what'll happen. A lot of cat's pride gets the best of them and they stumble into an ambush. Don't be prideful. And that's it." Kestrelspeckle shook the snow off of his fur, letting a yawn escape from his jaws.
"Maybe later we'll get an apprentice and his or her mentor to come so we can practice?"
-
Kestrelspeckle racked his brain for possible apprentices. He really knew no other apprentices; or, warriors with them, in his case. Not in Snowclan. He was out too much.
"Any ideas of what apprentice you'd like to practice with? Your choice." he asked her, awaiting an answer as he leaned against a tree on his back.
-
"Don't be sorry. We'll fix you up with one. Alright?" Kestrelspeckle purred, stretching briefly before standing back up. "Any questions? About anything?" he repeated, making sure she wasn't confused on anything.
