I'd like some input from you guys for a story that I'm planning on writing.
So like, we all behave a little different around people we don't know. You also behave different around your family than say, your friends. It may not be incredibly different, but it's still a little different. Despite that, you're still you and you have your own personality. But how do/would you act around people that consider you evil? In such an instance, you're obviously not capable of acting like your own self. Even if you act like you'd usually do, people wouldn't except you and see you as an evil person, most likely avoiding you.
How would you start behaving around those people? How far would you stray from your real personality? And how long would it take for you to stray from said personality?
-
I'm not referring to a very complicated kind of evil in this case, just a very simple view on it that your average human has. It's not really ''You're the bad guy and we need to eradicate you'' view but more of a ''What you've done and are capable of is utterly terrifying.''
The story takes place in our world and those that are looking at him this way is society and general, but that's not really important during the story. Those that also look at him this way are individuals who are capable of doing similar things as him, but either haven't fully realized it or haven't proven it on the scale that the protagonist has.

Merry Christmas ya'll!
I don't really understand 100% what you're going for, Flame. You put it as if heroes are units that can strike down a whole army in one blow (Just like Thelegend27), but a hero is not necessarily somebody with a great amount of strength. There are multiple factors that are to be take in consideration. To be considered a ''grunt'' you'd probably be an average soldier that's not worth mentioning.
Though I may be up for it if it's a ''Heroes behind the curtains'' kind of story. One in which the heroes aren't recorded in any sort of book or nobody remembers their efforts because they either purposely tried not to be remembered or that they took the jobs that aren't praise worthy.
I also agree with Boodor, a grunt is, in most cases, somebody who isn't worth mentioning. That doesn't leave much room for interesting characters.

After watching Star Wars Rogue one, I've come to realize that not all stories are worth telling. Sorry Flame, but I've kind of lost hype for the idea. I now know why some cliches are still used and why some have been dropped. I agree with Zero, there's a reason why some things are considered ''classic'' and others ''cliche''

We should just do a roleplay that's exclusively focused on waifus.
-
[sub]hello everybody.
Hey buddy, how have you been? enjoying Christmas?
-
Merry Christmas my lovelies! The main reason Santa is so jolly is because he knows where all the bad girls live.
Sounds like all Santa needs to give me this year is a list.
[glow=red,2,300]Merry Christmas everyone! May you share lovely moments with your friends, family and waifus/husbandos. [/glow]

I believe Airy has watched Inuyasha, as for me...... it looks too old for me to get into. Maybe if they re-released it in HD.
-
And Brian my love, I don't share well. I can be plenty bad if that is what you wish.
I'd really appreciate that, darling. But I'd appreciate it even more so if you were to refer to me as ''Bryan'' instead of ''Brian''. Though I must say that I can't imagine you being bad.
It's funny to me how Christmas is followed by New Years in little less than one week. First you'll be saying ''Merry Christmas'' and after a few more days we'll be saying ''Happy new year''.

I just saw Rogue One and can say skrew Bryan; you can do it, Flame!
Fit_me.exe
And Vibrance, glad too know I'm not the only one.
Oh my, are you implying that we have another lady here with a bad side? Then again, I've learned that every lady has a bad side deep down. Some are just better at covering it up than others. We men don't even try to hide it.
Flame, just make the thread and I'll see if I'm interested or not. I was never implying that you shouldn't make the thread at all. Every story is one worth sharing and yours have been very creative till date. You kind of remind me of myself from a few years back, in which I had an unique idea for a thread every few weeks.
-
Ooc: My love, painful as it may be, I believe we should drop this thread. I've learned that love is something that should grow over time, even in a roleplay thread. Only then can you allow the character to interact at their earnest.

My problems with Rogue one are:
[li]There were far too many characters. While most of them were enjoyable, they neither got enough screen time and no backstory.[/li]
[li]I agree with Zero on the AT-AT thing. In Star Wars 5 we see how much Luke struggles to just get one At-AT down, now they just shoot it down like it's nothing. Perhaps you could say that they were less advanced since it takes place before part 5, but I can't imagine that they were able to improve the armor THAT much.[/li]
[li]We all knew that the father was set up to die, but that didn't stop it from feeling underwhelming. Also why the fuck was his body still intact after the explosion?![/li]
[li]Does anyone remember that scene where those black armored soldiers entered the battlefield? You think that they are with Darth Vader or something, but no they just show up and that's that.[/li]
[li]All the characters were cleaned up far too easy. Both the robot and Yedi monk were done pretty awesome, but the others died far too ''convenient'' It didn't made me feel anything other than annoyance.[/li]
[li]All on all, the movie was basically setting up everything far too obvious, only to make it feel underwhelming when it actually happened. The more I think about the movie, the more I dislike it.[/li]
I agree with Flame. I've seen small bits from the Star Wars comics and they sound like they have very deep stories.

Mog was never hinted to have an interesting backstory or at least one worth telling, so it wasn't necessary for anything about him to be explained. All the characters in the movie seemed like they had actual interesting backgrounds, but the writer didn't bother to reveal it. Like why did the black dude that raised the protagonist leave the rebels? C'mon there must have been something interesting that happened. Or why where the monk and the machine gun dude friends? I can't even seem to remember all their names because they were so forgettable. Accept for Pilot McPilot. Who can forget the dude who got the most unfortunate dead RIGHT after he finished what he set out to do by what is the most incredible and well aimed throw in history.
The movie felt like it's pace was unbalanced. It started far too slow with little to no action and ended with a final battle that could have been much longer and interesting than it actually was. Though truth to be told, I wanted to film to end at that point anyways.

Dark souls is not a game that is known for it's plot. What plot it has actually fits being left in the dark. Discovering things and speculating about it is exactly what fits well with the games.
But for this movie, it's different. The first part was far too slow and detailed for them to be all "We'll let you speculate what happened" while the other part was like "Here are a bunch of characters. Why are they here? Why are they together? I don't know." If they wanted to keep things vague then they should have at least gave small hints or actually none at all. I don't mind them being all faceless mercenaries, but it's not what the writer had in store for what I can see. They are left so vague that some things just don't make sense about that. I wouldn't mind if it was just a full-blown action movie, but don't dedicate a very long part of it on just story telling.
And the character development seemed odd to me. While they didn't behaved like it in the later parts of thd movie, they still felt like they were stranger to one another. Probably because they didn't share anything about themselves, tieing in with my prior complaints.
-
Yeah, Star Wars Rogue One was a shit movie and everything that Bryan stated is right. Not only that, but he's an amazing individual who will surely become a hero.
Good to see that you're agreeing with me. Your arguments are valid and everything you stated is true.
Jk, Jk
-
Wait, then what do you say to somebody when you actually hate them?
-
-
When you ask somebody about Dark Soul, nobody is going to respond "Oh yeah, I love it's plot." They may actually do love the plot, but Dark Soul's focus is on the gameplay. Games that are known for their plots are Telletale games, for example.

If that would have been the case, then why did the creators release it at all? The moment you publish and sell something to the public, it's not just yours anymore. Everyone will start making interpretations and basing opinions on said work. The message, if not made obvious, may be changed over the years. If one doesn't want that to happen, they make it very clear what the work is really about or just keep it to themselves. For them to release the game means that they accept the fact that anyone can interpret their work as they will.
But you stopped making it an argument the moment you stated that you don't care about the opinion of others, even if they are just a selected bunch. At that point you're just forcing down our own facts. Who are you to decide what's ''Mediocre entertainment that keeps thing safe'?" That isn't a general fact, that's just yours. You can't say for sure that the developers feel the same way about this as you.
I've never really played a Dark Souls game, so I may agree with everything you stated, but that doesn't mean they are facts.

Is that an actual thing? I've never been in contact or influenced by the actions of an admin. At least not by something that I'm aware of. I have read about some trouble going on between admins and a lot of users being mad at admins, but I usually forget they exist.
