OOC: Whoa whoa whoa! First of all- you seem to like to rush. Second- why the HECK does a fourteen year old princess have a DAGGER with her when she just woke up!?

IC: The man let out a small exhale of pain, then quickly straightened up. When Zelda had broken his concentration, Link had fallen to the ground, bruised and panting, but alive. He struggled to clear his vision and get to his feet as the man pulled the dagger from his shoulder, laughing.

"You really believe that this pathetic piece of metal can kill me?" He threw said dagger out the window, crashing through the glass. "I suppose that, since you seem to want this boy to live so much, I will leave you breathing this time. But mark my words- I will be back, and if that boy or you decide to come and try to stop me again, I will kill either of you on sight!" The man yelled in anger. Just as he seemed about to warp away, Link struggled to his feet and stared the man in the eyes. The man looked at him for a moment before moving.

"I suppose since you may not even survive long enough to challenge me again, I will allow you one look at who I am." With that, the man grabbed his hood, letting it drop from his head. Link gasped at what he saw.

Standing before the two teens was none other than a pitch black Zora. With dark purple spots where a normal Zora's blue spots were, he was truly menacing. A scar ran over his left eye, blood red irises staring at the duo. His mouth was twisted into an almost victorious, vicious smirk.

"Yes- I am one of the Zora. And I-" he began, "am Zark- the true ruler of the Zoras! And I am late for a ver important occasion..." Surprising Link, Zark slowly morphed into what Link would define as a normal Zora, except for his blood red eyes. At that instant, the demonic Zora was enveloped in a sinister black flame, disappearing from the room. Link's face only showed shock, not knowing what to do. He crumpled to his knees, his head dropping into his hands, he attempted to make a noise, but his throat was too tight with the effort of fighting back tears. He only had one final thought before passing out on the floor- Zark was going to kill the Zoras. But he was the only one to realize this as his eyes clouded over in darkness, his valiant spirit finally giving in to unconsciousness...

OOC: Gotta go to bed- I'll be back tomorrow!

Link was dreaming. He had to be. He was suspended in the air, wild lights and dark creatures streaking past him. One, a tiger, launched at him, flying past his face. Almost as if the tiger had been some kind of cue, all the other animals seemed to go wild, tackling towards him and breaking out into fights. Link shielded his face with his arms, now scratched up and bruised. Something knocked him to the ground- he rolled out of the way as something with hooves almost trampled him into the ground.

Just when he thought he was done for, he heard a deep, powerful bark. All in a moment, everything stopped. Link got to his feet and looked around, realizing that all the shadowy creatures had stopped. They all seemed to be staring at- almost cowering from- something in the distance. Following their gazes, Link almost gaped himself as he saw what had made the powerful bark.

There, standing high atop a mound of stones, was a glowing red fox. Not an ominous red, like Zark's menacing eyes, but a powerful, good red, that made Link instantly respect the creature. As the muscled fox approached him, Link met his gaze, and his eyes instantly widened. The fox's eyes were a pure, bright golden color, and they spoke of countless battles.

What surprised Link the most, however, was when the fox began to speak. Not out loud, but... almost like he was speaking in Link's mind.

"Young hero of the Zora tribe, my name is Zakani. I have come to awaken you." Link was stunned. This powerful being had come to... 'awaken' him? Before Link could think it through thoroughly, the fox seemed to laugh.

"Not from this dream. I have come to you so you may recieve my spirit. My time here on this world has ended- it is time for you to awaken the beast inside of you to stop the evil threatening to overtake our beautiful land of Hyrule. All that is left now is for your inner ferocity...." The fox took a deep breath, beginning to dissolve into the air. The remnants of the fox, red-gold in hue, took the form of a spirit floating in the air. It began to wreath around Link, slowly melting into Link's chest. He didn't fight it- it almost felt good. As it finished dissolving into him, he began to writhe. His body seemed to be trying to contain the fox's spirit. His bones began to reverse position. Link finally released a cry of pain as suddenly, it all stopped. Exhausted from the struggle, his body fell to the ground, unconscious. It was then that fox finished his fina sentence.

"... to unleash the beast inside of you."

There, on the ground, was no longer a teenage human. Lying unconscious was a young, silver fox, his fur the color of shining moonlight. And on the bed in Zelda's room, lay the same fox in the place of the young blonde that was there a moment ago.

OOC: Yeah, yeah- Long, and I totally got this idea from twilight princess.

Link blinked. He was awake... but why was Zelda crying? He attempted to get to his feet- but froze. He felt strange, almost as if his limbs were backwards, yet he felt no pain. Looking at himself quickly, Link panicked as he saw his current fom. He was... a silver fox? Had the dream been real? Could it have been? If it was, then that meant...

He leapt of the bed and tried to stand, only to stumble. Link flailed his legs around, trying to balance. Walking on four legs was much more difficult than two legs. As he finally stopped falling over, he looked to Zelda, who seemed to realize that he was awake. He wished he could tell her about his dream. Suddenly, the same gold-red spirit from his dream appeared in the air, shocking Link as he once again lost his balance. Settling for sitting down in an awkward position for a fox, he watched as the same fox from before materialized from the mist. He faced Zelda, Link noticing that he seemed to hover above the ground.

Zanaki, the golden-red fox, showed little reaction of the girl's fear. He took a few steps forward and bent his neck down to nuzzle Zelda's cheek.

"Do not fear, young princess." Zanaki began as he returned to his seated position. "I bring no harm. I am here to guide Link." At this, the fox turned to face the young silver fox, who was still struggling to balance on his four new legs. At hearing his name, Link snapped to attention. "It is your destiny to save Hyrule and destroy the evil Zark." Link's moon-colored eyes widened. His destiny was... to save Hyrule?

OOC: Haha! See? I can finally make a smaller post!

(OOC: May I have a future reincanation of Sheik from OOT? Yes, I know Sheik is Zelda, but this one isn't. Would that be ok or too OCish?)

OOC: Hmm... Sure! But first one very important question- is Sheik a girl or a boy?

IC: Zanaki blinked. This Zelda was much more stubborn than the Zelda he had known. My, she had been much more patient, as well (Zanaki knew a Zelda in one of the previous Zelda adventures, but not one of the actual games). And not as crazy.. well, maybe.

Link looked at Zanaki in shock. The spirit fox didn't seem to be reacting very strongly, unlike Link or Zelda, who were taking the situation with awe. He had to save Hyrule, and kill Zark, yet he couldn't even walk in this form! He wanted desperately to ask Zanaki the questions he had...

    Bark!

Link froze. He hadn't made any noise besides screaming and grunts ever since he was born. But when he barked, it had almost felt like he was talking. He was shocked even further when Zanaki smiled and responded.

"Yes. It seems you've found you're new voice. Although you couldn't talk when human, you can communicate with other animals in your new form." Zanaki said, earning another saucer-eyed stare from Link. As he realized that Zelda was still giving off a fear-scent, which Link mysteriously found he could smell and identify as well, he looked down at his paws, eyes closed, and shook his head.

"It seems that you won't be able to trust me very easily in this form. Very well. I suppose I can take on a different form if it will make you more trusting of me." With that, Zanaki turned back into a cloud of golden-red mist. The mist began to shift color and shape, turning a strange mixture of blue, black, tan, and several other colors. The multi-colored cloud stretched until it touched the ground, the top about as tall as Link as the cloud materialized. Where moments ago there was a spirit fox, a young, tan skinned Hylian boy stood, wearing a black shirt, a short-sleeved jean jacket, dark blue pants, and fingerless black gloves. He wore black boots, and he had short black hair. His face was expressionless, but Link could smell a faint trace of unsureness from the fox in his new body. The boy turned to face Zelda.

    "How is this?"

OOC: @MidknightPhantom- k. Jump in when you see a valid shot at it.
@The Raven- hm. I dont think so. And i was kinda trying to avoid wolves, but okay. Just that the black piece, wolf- its kinda an exact copy of tp with zelda. But if you really want to be a wolf, I've got a few ideas. It depends on how soon you want to be a wolf. So if you want to be a wolf really soon, then just wait till we've left the castle. Then, Zanaki can play a part in Zelda becoming a wolf.

OOC: Okay, okay! I guess I can do that and get sheik into the roleplay at the same time. As long as the king is a really heavy sleeper. Here goes- Zelda wolf, GO!
OOC: EDIT- Sheik's coming in a different way.

IC: Link thought about this for a moment. He had a voice. Well, only to talk to other animals, but still. And now, Zanaki had transflrmed into a human boy! Things were just really getting weirder and weirder as Link's fox ears pricked. He was hearing things, or there was something outside the window.

Almost as soon as the thought crossed his mind, Zanaki was facing the window with a vicious expression on his face. Link started at the strange boy's sudden change of emotion. Suddenly, the window smashed through, a huge black shape crashing towards Zanaki and knocking him to the floor. The black shape immediately began to glow an ominous red, facing the weakened Zanaki.

"You should never have put yourself in the weakened form of a human, Zanaki. I told you I would destroy you one day- and now you've given me an easy road to your demise!" The creature's voice was deep and hoarse, chilling to the bone. Link fought through the fear. He had to help Zanaki! Charging awkwardly, he bashed himself into the shadowy figure right before it unleashed the red power. As he made contact with the beast, he immediately felt weak, collapsing to the ground for a moment. But his efforts weren't in vain- the creature's blast didn't hit Zanaki.

Instead- to Link's horror- the blast went barreling towards Zelda. Zanazi struggled to his feet in pain and walked up to the beast and grabbed him, somehow weakening the shot as its red color dulled to black moments before it hit Zelda, Zanaki crumpling to the ground, the creature falling as well. As the beam hit Zelda, she let out a small yelp of pain- wait: a yelp? Link watched in fear as Zelda was surrounded with the black aura, her black form molding into a strangely canine shape. As the blackness faded away, Zelda fell to the ground. Instead of a young Hylian girl, there was now a slim wolf with slick black fur. Angry and confused, Link leapt onto the dark figure, instinct driving him to know precisely where to bite down for the death blow. As he sunk his teeth down into the dark beast's neck, a bright silver flash blinded Link, tossing him backwards. The black creature dissipated, darkness flowing into the air and disappearing.

OOC: There you go! Two characters- wolf Zelda and Sheik, who was possessed (and now isn't anymore) by a demon out to kill Zanaki, are now here and ready to be roleplayed! Granted, everyone but Link is unconscious (and even he is just barely keeping from passing out), but hey- at least they're all here!

OOC: EDIT- Sheik isn't here yet.

OOC: @MidknightPhantom- Don't worry- all I changed was that the black monster just disappeared instead of a teenager being there.

IC: Link stumbled to his feet. So much had happened... Walking over to the unconscious Zanaki, Link nudged him. No response. Using his head to move him, he gently propped Zanaki up, with his back leaning against the wall. Walking over to the now-wolf Zelda, Link barked at her, still amazed that he could communicate with her.

    Bark! Bark!

Zelda! Calm down! If you're going to be in this form for a while, you at least need to figure out how to walk!

Link walked up next to her, then began to slowly walk forward to show her how to walk on four legs. He spoke as he went.

[i]It's kind of like walking, but you have to balance all your weight evenly on three legs every time you lift a paw to walk forward.

He demonstrated what he said as he went, turning to face her and sitting down as he finished. He bobbed his head forward as if to say 'You're turn'.

Link rushed to Zelda's side, suddenly discovering the now-white tattoo. He stared at it quizzically, tilting his head in confusion. What was the strange mark? Maybe it had been that beast hitting her...

Suddenly, Link's ears pricked once again. His body tensed, remembering what had happened the last time he heard something out the window. But this sound almost sounded like an instrument of some kind. A harp, or maybe a lyre? Almost as soon as it began, it ended. There was a rustle in the bushes, and the noise of the lyre was heard once again, just for an instant. Link slowly walked towards the broken window, his own curiosity overwhelming his instincts to be more cautious. As he was about to peek out the window, however, he was broken from his trance when he stepped on a piece of broken glass. He quickly shook the glass shard out of his paw, quickly realizing that it hadn't cut deep enough to bleed. Walking over to the window once again, he sniffed, amazed at how well his nose worked. Among the many smells, he recognized one as a very foreign scent. Almost smelling of the desert, but also smelling like salt. Like the salt water back home in Zora's Domain.....

Link shook the thought from his head. No. That wasn't his home anymore. As he tried to refocus on the scent, Zanaki stirred over by Zelda. Red-golden irises became visible as his eyes opened slowly. He tried to get up, but cringed. His second attempt was just as successful, Zanaki quickly realizing that he must have broken something. Instead, he managed to pull himself closer to the black wolf on the floor, studying the white-hot mark.

The mark of the Dusk Reaper... It burns because of the blast the beast shot at you. If it had been full power, you would be in much worse shape. But I think I can help ease the pain, if just by a bit."

With that, Zanaki placed his left hand on the mark, closing his eyes in concentration. His hand began to glow golden, the mark responding by glowing a harsh white. The white light suddenly shot up Zanaki's arm, the boy-spirit only cringing. After a moment, Zanaki removed his hand. The mark was still white, but it shone a little duller.

"It wasn't as effective as I would have hoped, but it will hopefully not burn as badly for a while"

Zanaki took a deep breath, swallowing the pain as best he could. He had been through worse fights before- he could live with this.

Link's ears pricked. There was that lyre again! And.. a voice? How did this person know his name? He leapt out the window, balancing on the sill before jumping down. He sniffed around, looking for the source of the voice he had heard.

Suddenly, his nose bumped into a soft, firm surface. Raisinghis head, he was face to face with a masked figure. Alll that the cloth revealed was a pair of eyes that held many secrets. Link cocked his head at the curious new face.

    "Who are you?"

Link laughed at himself inwardly. He was a fox- there was no way this person could understand him. Zanaki approached from behind, coming to a stop next to the wolf-Zelda. He searched through the bushes, noticing the boy and the fox. He grinned- he'd heard of these people before. This should be interesting.

OOC: Seems almost uncanny how much a person can miss in one day.. Alright, lemme address a something...
I was hoping for a little more originality in this thread than just descendants and lookalikes from Zelda games. So about Kaepora Gaebora. I knew who he was, thanks to playing OoT recently. But it felt kind of sudden, and apparently it's the exact same bird, especially having the same exact name. Considering that in this RP, OoT is in the past, and these are new-generation Link and Zelda (and everyone else is new), I don't think that's very good. But.. I suppose if you change his name a bit and make him a little different (possibly a different personality, age, ect. These ARE just sugggestions), you can still use him. As long as the number of descendants and lookalikes stays low....

IC: Link doubled backwards, stumbling over his own paws, as the mysterious figure disappeared. He sniffed around to see if he had just hidden or something... but there wasn't a trace of him. He was gone.

Leaping back into the room, he realized that the sun was on the horizon, slowly filling the sky with a soft pink morning light.

The sunrise.. If I'm correct, the king expects Link to be gone by sunrise. And if he finds Link, he will send him back to Zora's Domain-"

Link's eyes widened to the size of saucers. Zora's Domain! If they didn't hurry, Zark would get there first and kill everyone! Link ran towards the door, only getting to the doorway before stumbling head over heels into a wall.

I've got to get to Zora's Domain! If we don't hurry, Zark will kill everyone!

Zanaki closed his eyes and shook his head.

[color]"Zark is a strange character. He'll wait until you can beg on your knees for mercy, then he'll destroy the last shred of hope you have. He does that. Always has, always will. But if what you say is true, then we'll never be able to get there in time. I've used up too much of my energy to warp us all there."

Link wasn't going to give up. He would run all the way there on his own, unsteady, four legs if that's what it took!

Zanaki could see Link's determined spirit. That was why Link was going to be the one to defeat Zark. But not yet. He wasn't prepared yet, and he wouldn't agree to anything until his home was safe. But they would never get there in time...

OOC: Okay. About Maven.. Well, sure. But as a dopelganger, y'know she still has to be working/living at Lon Lon Ranch(or perhaps another ranch with a different name or something)? And Kebora shoulder-size sounds good!

IC: Link nodded, a new determination inside of him. He ran out the door, stopping for a moment as he remembered Zanaki. Looking back at the spirit, he cocked his head when he saw that Zanaki was still in Hylian form. He smiled in return.

"Since we can't turn either of you back, I think it would be best if I remained in human form, just in case we encounter any Hylians." He said as he walked up next to the pair. Link gave a canine smile(im pretty sure foxes are canines) and ran with Zanaki to catch up with the fast-running Zelda. They could make it! They could save his friends!... right?

On the other side of Hyrule field, across the ocean...

Zark smiled evilly as his spy arrived.

"You've returned, my faithful servant. Have you found our target?

    Zark thought for a moment.

"The spirit, Zanaki, is with them, correct? Redirect their path. Send them through Death Valley. If they can escape the creatures there.. The hostages will be the next distraction.

    Back with the trio...

Zanaki smiled. It had been a while since he had been in Hyrule Field. And Link seemed to be enjoying exploring, sniffing every interesting bit of scenery.

Link even sniffed a strange little flower. Curious, he butted his nose against the flower. It retaliated by puffing out a burst of pink pollen. Link sneezed, knocking himself into a sitting position. He shook his head to get the scent out of his head. He did NOT want to smell any of those flowers again!

OOC: I've got an idea to bring in Maven! But it's a surprise! Hehe. Ha.

Link started at the sudden appearance of the mysterious boy. Then he registered it- this was the same boy from before! He sniffed- yup, same person. But wait.. that other scent... it was so familiar...

Zanaki approached the boy, very sure-footed considering he was in a new form.

"You are one of the Sheikah? I have heard about your kind, but I believed that the only one remaining was the Sheikah at the castle. Why are you here?"

Link cocked his head at Zelda. Why was she so suspicious? Then it hit him- How had this 'Sheikah' boy understood what Zelda had said? Zanaki realized this as well, growing suspicious of the new face, but still giving him the benefit of the doubt.

    "What do you want?"

    Link then jumped in.

"Yeah! And how can you understand Zelda and me? And are you here to help, or not?" barked Link, demanding answers from the boy who was getting more and more suspicious by the second.

Zanaki spoke confidently, though he kept the pair's names secret.

"The black wolf said that we cannot trust those who may be Zark's spies. The silver fox asked if you could understand them, and if you are here to help or not." he finished, Link eying the boy suspiciously. Why did he assume that Zanaki coukd translate them?

Zanaki frowned. This person was just trying to distract them. The boy was suspicious.

Link was impatient. They had somewhere to be! By the time they were done here, Zark would've killed everyone! He turned to Zanaki, determination clear in his eyes.

"Let's go, Zanaki. We've got to get to Zora's Domain! Zelda doesn't trust this guy, and I'm starting to agree with her!" Link barked. Zanaki returned a knowing glance to the fox, turning to the Sheikah boy.

"Sorry, but we've got to be going." Zanaki said, making his way around the Sheikah. Link followed, sending the boy a look of mixed suspicion and curiosity.

"No... No... It can't be true..." Link staggered backwards, his eyes blank with sorrow and stunness(is that a word? I'm gonna assume so).

Zanaki froze. This boy not only knew the condition of Zora's Domain and that they were going there, but also knew something else. "You... you said 'Princess'. Why did you call her a Princess? And how do you know we're going to Zora's domain?"

Link forgot about the news for a moment and tackled into Zelda, pinning her to the ground.

"Calm down, Zelda! We at least need to hear what he has to say! Maybe he has some important information! And if he doesn't, then you're free to kill him. Until then, just stay calm." Link barked at her, letting her up. He hoped to have at least made her realize the truth in what he said. Zanaki didn't trust the boy, and neither did Zelda or Link, but they needed to know what he had to say. Zanaki tried once more.

"I will ask you one more time. Why did you stop us? What do you want?"
