Viperscale smiles. "Of course!" He sits down, licking his paw. "How has it been, Smallear? Keeping yourself occupied?"
Hawkflower gave a small glare to Viperscale and stood. "I'll be back later, Smallear. Enjoy your meal." She stalks out of the elder's den.
-
Viperscale chuckled. "You're still independent as ever, Smallear." He purred.
-
Firebreeze nodded. "Yes, for once, Windgust wasn't tossing and turning."
Windgust heard Firebreeze's comment and snorted. He didn't really toss and turn THAT much, did he?
-
Viperscale tilted his head slightly. "Sure!" He stood and shook the stray moss from his thick pelt, following after Smallear, who was obviously going to lead this patrol.

Firebreeze watched Inkstar pad out of the camp and sighed. She wished she could go on a walk. But her kits would be coming soon, and she knew thay she shouldn't, for the safety of both herself and the kits.
Windgust finished his meal, burying the remains. He saw Snowpaw half inside the medicine den and chuckled. She was so eagert help not only herself, but the clan. Windgust closed his eyes, deep in thought. Perhaps this is what Firebreeze liked about staying in a clan. Not only are you safe, but you keep others safe as well. Even though none of these cats were his family by blood, he felt as if he had adopted every single one.
-
=Viperscale nodded. "Alright!"
-
Firebreeze smiled. "I don't need anything at the moment. But you are welcome to share a piece of prey with me." She sauntered over to the fresh-kill pile, returning with a fat squirrel.
Windgust opened his eyes and sighed. Although clan life was much different than rogue life, he was quickly getting used to the former.
-
Firebreeze shrugged. "Alright." She sees Toxicclutch and pads over to her. "Would you like to share this squirrel with me?" Firebreeze noticed how troubled the young warrior looked.
Windgust saw his younger sister approach Toxicclutch, offering a squirrel. He stared at the she-cat, seeing how "off" she looked. He usually looked the same way after he had had a bout of nightmares. Did she get horrible dreams too? He thought about approaching her, but decided against it. HE didn't like it when others asked about his dreams, so he assumed that she didn't like it either.
-
Viperscale positioned himself at the edge of the water, careful to not let his shadow cast over it. He flashed his paw into the water, scooping a fish onto the bank. He quickly killed it and dragged it over to Smallear's.
-
Firebreeze's tail tip twitched as she waited for Toxicclutch's response.
-
Firebreeze smiled. "Over there?" She flicked her tail in the direction of a small, sunny area beside a clump of ferns.
Windgust padded out of the camp, deciding to go for a short walk. He didn't feel like hunting, so he headed to the edge of the lake, sitting down and staring out into the water.
-
Viperscale gasped and jumped into the pond after her. He opened his eyes and saw her thrashing around. He grabbed the scruff of her neck and pulled her up above water. He swam strongly to the edge of the bank and let go of Smallear, making sure she was clear of the water. Coughing up some water, he lay down, exhausted. "We should get you back to camp." He coughed out.
-
Firebreeze noticed that the she-cat had relaxed and purred, laying down in the sun and taking a bite of the squirrel.
Windgust's ears pricked. He could've sworn he heard something. He turned and padded toward the noise, seeing the broken, mangled body of Frostbite. He yowled in surprise and backed away, his eyes wide.
-
Windgust tasted the air. Over the strong scent of blood, he smelled to putrid odor of a badger. He growled. "Badger." He hissed.
-
Viperscale shook his head. "It isn't your fault. You just lost your footing." He stood and helped Smallear stand, allowing her to lean against his shoulder. "Can you make it back to camp?"
-
Windgust swallowed a lump in his throat. He and Frostbite weren't close, but he was a clan mate. A member of his family... His hatred for the badger burned within him. He looked down and saw Snowpaw with her nose buried in the tom's fur, and he saw Apocalypse approach slowly. He frowned deeply and crouched beside Snowfur, he too burying his muzzle into his dead clanmate's shoulder, mourning the loss.
-
"Alright." He meows. "Let's go. I'll come back to get the fish once you're in the camp."
-
Firebreeze's eyes widened, and she stood up quickly. "Windgust!" She pelted out of the camp as quickly as any cat would.
Windgust lowered his gaze and stood. He figured that Apocalypse and Inkstar would take care of Frostbite, and padded beside Snowpaw, laying his tail across her shoulders in attempt to console her. Tears stung his pale blue eyes as he stared at the ground.
