Flarestar looked around, tension rippling through his body and causing his fur to stand on end.

Emberkit pelted after Tigerkit with her sister right behind her.

Shadowkit and Finchkit padded quickly side by side.

Dustypaw was about to copy his mentor, but voices not far off distracted him. Two she-cats, one younger and one older. Maybe. He lifted his head. "Are you hearing what I'm hearing?" he hissed.

"Dustypaw!" Mistypaw sprang out of the bushes, bowling her brother over.

Harmonyleaf followed slower, relief glittering in her eyes. "Thank StarClan both of you are alright!" she mewed, though she was staring at Poisoncleric instead of Dustypaw.

Shadowkit glanced back at Sunkit.

Mistypaw leaned heavily against her brother.

Dustypaw closed his eyes and drank in Mistypaw's warm scent.

Harmonyleaf glanced at the two apprentices with a silent purr. She turned her head and searched Poisoncleric's gaze, as if looking for something.

"Oh, what's the rush?" Harmonyleaf burst out as Dustypaw was riding on Mistypaw's back just as twolegs did with their horses.

The blue-gray apprentice stopped short, tossing her brother off her back. "Stay here?!" Her eyes widened.

"Well, it is dark.." Dustypw agreed.

"What, are you mouse-brained!?" Mistypaw turned on Dustypaw and tackled him.

While the two were bickering, Harmonyleaf nodded quickly. "I guess..." She glanced around the quiet hollow. But it's so peaceful here... Tonight would be really nice. She argued with herself.

"Good, we'll sleep over here." Mistypaw clawed a line into the dirt. "This is our side." she mewed, laying down.

Harmonyleaf stared at her apprentice curiously and Dustypaw met her eyes with an apologetic glance on behalf of Mistypaw, then padded over to his sister and curled up beside her. The two fell asleep.

Harmonyleaf glanced at the apprentices. They wouldn't need to worry about their share of the clearing. She looked up at Poisoncleric again.

Harmonyleaf pretended to be asleep as she lied on her back and stared through squinted eyes up at Poisioncleric. She flicked her ears at the chittering noises.

Maplefall and Brackenberry padded into the clearing after their clan with Brackenberry's young apprentice Lakepaw. The two warriors sat together while Lakepaw padded over toward Riverpaw and Otterpaw. "Hi!" The bubbly apprentice mewed, smiling.

Brackenberry glanced at the kit. He leaned over towards his sister, giving her a puzzled look.

As if reading his mind, Maplefall shrugged and mewed, "I don't know, you tell me why they would bring a kit to a gathering."

Princess Ink Droplet galloped over to Princess Nightmoon. She liked to think of herself as the pretty Alicorn's sister since they were so close. "The Grand Galloping Galla is tomorrow night." Ink smiled.

Ink opened her mouth to reply when Filly Finn jumped up with her original Pinkie Pie Party Cannon. "The Grand Galloping Galaaa!!!" She scream-sang.

Ink laid her ears back to offer a little protection from the racket. "Fillyfinn, please," she started, but the funny earth pony had already left to spread the word. "Honestly." She tried to hide her amusement but the friendly sparkle in her eyes betrayed her muffled annoyance.

"Yeah, OVERLY excited!" A new voice interrupted Ink as she opened her mouth to say something- but closed it , stiffening. She looked up and saw an orange pegasus with pink hair which had a pearly blue tint to it. She let herself relax when she saw that it was the usually quiet Sapphire Simmer. She noticed that the young pegasus was taking Hallowella's side as usual.
