Nova could feel the excitment in the air as the ran, heading towards where they had last scented the deer. Just as she passed a large pine tree the scent of the herds trail hit her like a wave. Giving a quiet bark to her pack she told them that she found their scent as she kept her pace following the trail. At her flank she could feel Broxious running strongly easily keeping the pace. As the scent became stronger she slowed the pack down and stalked forwards. Infront of her was a treeline that surrounded a small meadow, in which the deer were currently positioned. Halting she flicked her ears and to gather the hunting party around her. "Kivara I want you and Sarvia to stalk through the long grass and target a nice fat one", she whispered in a hushed voice. "Once you've chosen your target chase it to the opposite side of the clearing, where me and Broxious will be stationed. Ok?", she said wondering if any of them had any questions.

Polar's dark green eyes scanned the resting pack, his eyes halting on Havarah and her newborn pups. She had bore them earlier than expected but now at the age of one week the pups had grown. Only the runt of the litter, a black male, didn't survive the unexpected birth. Now the two remaining pups suckled at their mothers belly. Giving a small smile he returned his gaze to the surrounding forest searching for any sign of approaching threats.

Havarah licked her pups as they ate a her side. As she groomed Drako her mind wondered into the past as the memories of her deceased mate entered her head. He was a strong striking black male, who died in the same battle the Alpha Male died in. His name was Valcon, the previous Beta, and now because of the renegades he was dead. The day she bore her pups, she vowed to help train them to defeat the ones who killed their father. One day they would have vengance, but for now she would have to wait untill her pups grew stronger. The cry of an eagle snapped her out of her thoughts and she growled at the great bird. They have been know to carry off small pups, and right now she didn't want to take any chances. Shifting her position she crouched over her pups untill the bird sought food else where.
