After everyone was off the field, the teacher raised her hand again and pointed into the crowd. "Surina Aaloka, please step onto the field." She paused, gazing upon every student to decide upon a candidate. Seeing somebody who hadn't fought, but was more or less more isolated from the rest, she pointed at her. "Sakura Ajax, you're up. Please step onto the field."

"I-I kind of have the same kinds of fears as you, but with fire..." Tomoko admitted, stroking her fingers through her ponytail. "Th-there was an incident, where the whole village I lived in was burned down. It was, um, pretty bad, so I don't like hanging out with fire magic users..." She looked over at the people who were about to duel. "So, I completely understand how you feel. A-and, in that case, I'll try and help you if you feel scared." She smiled welcomingly.

The teacher blinked, still as monotone as ever. "It appears that Sakura has won the duel." Her eyes wandered across the fields, before pointing. "Tomoko Kataoka, please step onto the field." She looked around, before quickly deciding Tomoko's opponent. "Riley Megumi. Please step onto the field."

Tomoko recalled Riley still being a beginner, not really a fair match considering she was quite experienced if she did say so herself. Still, she stepped out onto the field, albeit hesitantly. She wouldn't fight to her full potential. She wanted to be a learning experience, at least.

"Ah, you're still beginning, r-right?" Tomoko asked, summoning her sword. "Um, in that case, I'll try to go a bit easy on you... I've had lots of training, and I don't want you to be wiped out. L-let's try to make this a learning experience." She smiled, holding out her sword. "Ready?"

Tomoko analyzed the situation. It wouldn't be much help if she was just going to dodge every shot, but it would just be fake if she let Riley win. And what about her shots? She knew how dangerous she was with a sword. In her assessment, the scythe caught on her dress and tore it, causing her to jump back. Right, she needed to actually be in the moment. That would probably be a good idea. Musing, she checked the material below her. Grass... She stepped backwards a few times. It made footprints. This would probably be a good chance to improve Riley's awareness of his surroundings. With that in mind, she turned invisible and began to advance towards Riley from around the right side, making her mark with her footprints in the grass as she did so.

Tomoko sighed, making an audible noise. Well, he NOTICED, but maybe it didn't have the same effect as intended. She jumped up, uncloaking as she did so. If she waited it out for ten seconds, she could summon her sword again. And hopefully, Riley would learn from it. Five seconds passed as Tomoko descended to the ground, watching Riley. She landed behind him, hoping that she could wait out the other ten seconds. This was a duel, and although she had to go easy, strategy was still key.

As Tomoko landed, she tripped over the scythe in her "careful planning" stage. She rubbed her head, quite frankly humiliated at that as an experienced and skillful magical girl. She propped herself up, summoning her sword and using it to push herself up. She turned around, searching for Riley, but nobody was there. She narrowed her eyes. Did he have invisibility, too? Or, was it something else? She looked up, just to make sure he wasn't in the air somewhere. Nothing. How could she let her guard down like that?

Surprised, Tomoko was easily grabbed. However, it didn't take too long for her to regain her senses, letting her hit one of his hands with the hilt of her sword in an attempt to stun him enough to let her go. The trick might have worked if strength was in Riley's favor. If this was a life threatening situation, Tomoko would have no problem with using the other end of that sword, but this was just a beginner randomly picked to duel, he was just learning.

((shoot, its 1am, probably cant rp so sorry to leave u hanging))

Tomoko kicked herself off the floor, launching her into the air thanks to her enhanced agility. She observed Riley's position and stance, before throwing her sword down around his left arm. It was a low risk area. At worst, he doesn't dodge and his arm gets speared. So what? She could call off the duel and get a healer. Due to their enhanced bodies, there wouldn't be much harm. While she was calculating, she landed and nearly tripped over her own feet.

Distracted by her stumble and the fact that she was now in calculation phase, Tomoko took the hit. 'He's bleeding, huh... Well, he doesn't seem to care. No matter. Our bodies are built to handle much stronger than that.' She thought. Smiling, she held up her sword in a defensive position with several openings. If she wanted to cover those, she would've summoned two, but for the time being she was trying to be a teacher.

Tomoko just laid her sword down, and stepped backwards. "It's probably not the best to be all showy. Focus on how you could gain the upper hand." She grinned sheepishly. "Though maybe not as much as I do... I'm used to bigger battlefields, so my habit of calculation still hasn't left me." She picked up her sword again and pointed it towards Riley. "I'll give you a few seconds to cool down. You're going to get dizzy."

Tomoko carefully inspected Riley when it seemed as if he wasn't spinning around dizzying himself anymore. Well, clearly, none of her other attempts at teaching didn't work. Maybe she was going about it all wrong. After all, he was still a beginner, and she was expecting him to pick up on things so easily. She walked over calmly, holding her sword forward to close some distance. Riley would fight better at close range, right? Maybe they could have an even match.

Tomoko stopped once she reached what she considered a close and acceptable distance. It was at this point where, if this were a real death match, would be the moment where she secured the kill. But it wasn't, and this was just practice dueling. It was strange how much she changed in a duel. Her eyes became cold and calculating as she attempted to figure out every single possibility, every single outcome to the situation. But she was no clairvoyant, and she knew that. She swung her sword just across his chest, a warning sign, not one that should draw blood as long as you were precise with your movements. She was basically just screaming at him without words, daring him to make a move.

Tomoko attempted to strike, but Riley was gone before she could do anything. She carefully began to observe her surroundings. He wasn't there. What was that power of his? Still, she was proud that Riley was finally making a move. She held her sword out in an alert stance, looking around for Riley. Nothing. She checked the ground for footprints, but none as far as she could see. This was certainly interesting. A great power, and he would make a great fighter if trained enough. She gave a satisfied smirk, waiting for Riley to re-appear.

Tomoko looked at the stones with confusion, she tried to look at the source, but nothing was there. So maybe it was invisibility? She didn't know fully, but her eyes started shifting around. He could be anywhere, now that he stopped throwing them. She tried to go towards the source first though, hoping that there wouldn't be any sneaky attacks. Or maybe, she was hoping for one. It was always good to help Riley learn. A sneak attack would be a good move.

    Luckily for Riley, it hit.

Tomoko hissed with pain, holding her shoulder even though the pain wasn't coming from there. She bit her tongue, trying to act like she just wasn't about to scream. There was a long cut across her back that was now bleeding, but, no matter. She grinned wearily, clearly in pain but fighting it out. "G-good move... Didn't see it coming." She gave a thumbs up, holding her sword with her other hand. She steadily gripped her sword. She thrust the sword forward, with the attempt to hit the scythe out of Riley's hands. 'I've felt worse. It's been worse. I'll survive.' She reassured herself. She was usually so used to knowing her opponent's abilities, but with Riley it was a complete mystery. It was confusing, but in a way, it was fun.

Tomoko nodded, smiling wearily as she de-summoned her sword. She weakly began to walk out of the courtyard, aiming to head for the infirmary. She opened the doors and began stumbling her way through the halls, looking at her map, leaving a blood trail behind her.

"Ah. Well, I don't know who to consider a winner, but the duel is over." The teacher nodded, before looking around. What candidates did she have left? Not many, she supposed. She checked her attendance list. There should've been more students there. She shrugged. "Please take a ten minute break, students."
