    "Ex-actly" She grinned loping past Hazelpaw and pawing up a moundful of loose moss. "And you probably definetely don't want the mother to be the one hanging from your whiskers in the middle of the night."

    Smoke. Thick gray smoke clogged the air and made it hard to see anything, made her eyes water and her nose sting and it made it hard to even breathe. Panic clutched her heart as she drew in mouthful after mouthful of the smoke that burned the back of her throat. Coughing Asterpaw staggered about the center of the camp, sometimes seeing the shapes of her clanmates dashing here and there and hearing their cries over the snapping of the flames. Fire! StarClan help us!

    She had to help the Queens and their kits. And the Elders. She had heard Snarltooths howl and gathering her courage Aster made her way towards where she thought the Nursery was, freezing when she heard the high pitched mewl of distress from a kit. Asterpaw charged through the entrance of the Nursery, wincing as the burning branches brushed her pelt. "You have to stay calm! Where are you? Just follow my voice."

    She could see the kit now just a few tail-lengths away from her and unfortunately further into the Nursery. The cream-furred apprentice took a deep breath, willing herself forward. Was she not training to be a Warrior? She couldn't let fear overcome her when her clan mates were in need of her! Asterpaw shouldered aside her fear and crawled closer to where the kits voice had come from, not stopping until she felt her whiskers brush against something soft and fluffy. "I've got you, kid."

    Asterpaw leaned down and scooped the kit up by the scruff, staggering a bit under her weight before she turned and brushed past the entrance of the Nursery and into the camp. Once there she paused making out the shape of another apprentice and kits just up ahead. Skidding to a halt beside Lightningpaw she placed "her" kit on the ground. "You alright?" her voice wavered but Asterpaw ignored it, instead focusing on nosing the kit all over before turning her gaze to Lightningpaw.

    "Where are we supposed to take them?" a tail flick indicated all the kits gathered about their paws.

    At the mention of her mentor she perked her ears, sparing a glance around the burning and smoky camp for any sign of the huge brown tabby but he was nowhere in sight. Shaking thoughts of Wolfstar from her mind-he was probably off somewhere helping his clanmates anyway- Asterpaw glanced back down at the coughing kit at her paws in time to see her gazing up at her all big-eyed. Under normal circumstances she would have basked in the admiration but this was far from normal circumstances, now wasn't it?

    Managing a small smile for the kit Asterpaw leaned down to scoop her up again. "You can thank me once I get you to the border." There, an attempt at humor. Once she was sure she had a secure grip the young apprentice dashed into the forest, barely recognizing anything anymore but following the sent and sound of her clanmates. Asterpaw dropped the kit to the ground at the border, where several clanmates already huddled.

    "Stay here okay? You'll be safe here. I have to go back."

    "Me? Pssh, Yeah, I'll be fine!" She mewed with false bravado giving her tail a casual swish through the air and puffing out her chest. Truthfully Asterpaw felt like squeaking like a kit, no offense to Dappledkit- when she thought of heading back to the burning forest. She had only been apprenticed for two moons herself and had never been in a battle before let alone faced a situation as dangerous and scary as a fire. However she would be damned before she allowed anyone to see how terrified she really was and besides she didn't want to scare the kit.

    "I'll even come find you later, um-" Here Asterpaw trailed off with an apologetic tilt of her head not knowing the kits name.

    Name: Asterpaw
    Full name: Asterfall
    Virtues: Dedication and Enthusiasm

    'Deep breath. In, out. In and out.' She reminded herself, using all of her self control to stand poised and patient as she waited for her turn to receive her full name. 'FINALLY' she would become a full-fledged ThunderClan warrior, something that was long overdue...though she grudgingly admitted to herself that her prolonged apprenticeship had been caused by her own doing.

    "Oh! Can I help? I'll help!" Asterpaw dashed over towards Tremorstep and Labyrinth, her tail waving high and excitedly in the air. Dipping her head in greeting she glanced between the two as she explained her idea. "While you dig, I could head out to find bushes to bring in. That way once you finish the reinforcements would already be ready. We'd be like a team!"

    {2/20}

    Then again, digging seemed like a so much easier task from watching Labyrinth as she set to work. Hm. The tabby considered her options for a moment, nose twitching as the dust particles floating in the air made her want to sneeze. Dirt or Thorns? She had just giving herself a thorough grooming and didn't very much like the idea of washing grime out of her fur yet again. Thorns it was then!

    "Right. Be right back! " Asterpaw turned and headed out in search of good brambles to use as reinforcement for the camp wall.

    "Asterpaw, it is time for you to become a warrior; from this moment on, because of your dedication and enthusiasm, you will be known as Asterfall."

    "Yes!" Asterfall leapt straight into the air, cobalt blue eyes bright with excitement. Finally! It took a moment but the newly named warrior realized her mistake and flushed hotly under her fur. "I mean...Thank you. I will continue to do my best in service to ThunderClan." Taking a deep breath she wandered off, itching to finally be able to claim a nest in the Warriors den.

    Aster reemerged through the camp entrance tail-first, her teeth sunk deep into the base of clump of brambles. She looked a little worse for wear, tufts of fur hanging off of her muzzle and forelegs. It was a bit more of a struggle to safely and painlessly collect these sort of things than she originally imagined. Shoving your entire face into a thicket full to chew them out? Not a good idea. Trying to use your forepaws instead? Not a good idea.

    Never the less, she felt quite accomplished as she dragged them over to her companions from earlier. "Back!" Dumping them off not far from Whitequeen's hole she sighed in relief. "You will not believe what I went through to get these."

    {4/20}

    "Oh yeah, of course!" With careful movements she maneuvered the thorny bush into the freshly dug hole, grunting in satisfaction when it landed perfectly and set to scooping the earth back over it. Once that was done she dragged the bramble bush into the second hole and covered that too, testing it's security with a few taps of her paws.

    "With the two of you digging, I'll head off to get some more, kay?"

    Aster's ears twitched when on her search for more bushes she heard a loud, colorful oath. The small feline veered off her oath towards the sound just to come upon the sight of Shekai with a paw full of porcupine. "Whoa! Where'd that thing come from?" Curiously she took a few steps closer, eyeing the strange, prickly creature and then thought better of it.

    She glanced up at the wolf. [b]Um, are you okay? It didn't stick you or anything did it?"

    A kit was being promoted to assistant deputy? She felt as skeptical about the entire thing as did the majority of her clan mates. Asterfall craned on the tips of her toes, catching a glimpse of the newly named, young assistant deputy. Hushedkit had already been surrounded by a number of clan mates seeking to either reassure or congratulate her. Or both. She dropped back down in disappointment when all she saw was a glimpse of tortoiseshell fur. Oh well, they'd never know unless they gave her a chance.

    Aster weaved through the crowd until she was standing next to Tremorstep and gave his shoulder a friendly bump. She didn't really know him all that much but what she'd seen of him, he seemed like a pretty cool cat. "Hey, I just wanted to say congratulations on your promotion. Assistant Deputy, that must be pretty exciting!"

    Herb training? Never in her life would she have thought that such a thing would catch her attention. But after her...experience at the paws of PhantomClan she figured that knowing even the basics of healing herbs would be very useful indeed. Asterfall slipped out of the Warriors den, glancing over at the assembling cats. Apparently she wasn't the only one who wanted to learn.

    The unusually small cream tabby trotted across the camp and seated herself as close as she could get to Larkpaw, looking at the herbs lying at her paws curiously.

    Seashell hunting sounded fun! Aster watched as all the other cat's dashed about, squealing and laughing in delight when they found seashells. She started her search excitedly, her snout practically brushing against the ground like she was on the trail of prey. Oh, oh, there's one! Just up ahead she could see the sunlight glinting off something in the grass and she dashed up. It was a small, curled seashell that was a pretty pale pink. It reminded her of a early sunset.

    She picked it up in her jaws and stashed her find under a nearby bush, she'd come back for it later.

    "Okay, so Nettle is for swelling, right?" From her position Aster was easily able to lean over and give the herb a sniff, her nose wrinkling in reaction. But what types of swelling? Like is it for battle wounds or poisonous bites?" It was clear to the young warrior, and probably everyone else that Larkpaw was extremely nervous. He and Chimerapaw both. Aster did her best to keep her voice even and flashed an encouraging smile.

    [font=times new roman]This was actually pretty fun and Asterfall found herself relaxing, enjoying the warm sand underpaw and the quiet that was lacking from the ThunderClan camp. Feeling something hard underpaw she set to work digging. Vigorously. Sand flew in all directions forming a dirt shower all around her.

    "Think you can take on one more?" That was Asterfall, the petite Warrior trotting up to the assembling cluster of cats and flashing a quick grin up at Sootpaw who she recognized from her time as an Apprentice...which in truth was only like a day or two ago. "It's been kinda slow around camp lately and I'm dying to get out into the forest!
