Mintpaw growled, "I-I knew that! There was a fox running by, that's why I went all defensive." Her fur tingled with embarrassment and she padded ahead. Her ears were down in annoyance at her own mistake. Why did that alwats happen?! Why couldn't she learn!?

"Yeah? Well, can you turn into him now?" She smirked, retorting the comeback obligingly. ((Did he ever get her comeback earlier? She said was was handsome; She's blind))

"No. You're neither." Teased the she-cat, nudging him playfully. Her hostility tended to melt away pretty quickly lately. It was weird for her. Why am I acting like this? She muttered mentally to herself, "It's a wonder I haven't started saying my thoughts out loud." She continued, and instantly chomped down on her tongue.

"You could become a mouse and I can eat you." Mintpaw replied, clicking her teeth together to simulate eating, "Or you could become that porcupine you so closely resemble. Or at least how I picture you." She teased back. Relief flooded her as no one had realized she spoke her thoughts.

ooc: As I'm typing this, A Frontline Cats ad pops up XD

"I try." She mewed, nuzzling her mentor quickly before chasing after her companion. "Leafpaw! Hey, Leafpaw! Wait up! Wait for me!" She called, increasing her speed to catch up with her.

    OOC: KK, bye bye! ^^

"Do I ever!" Exclaimed the pale-eyed she cat. "I've been waiting forever to hunt!" At that, she silenced, positioning her feet into a firm stance and focussing on any surrounding sounds. Her ears flicked, rotating to pick up on anything. Suddenly, the apprentice dropped into a crouch, "Vole to the right, 2-3 foxlengths, squirrel in the bushes to our left. Rabbit in the bramble." She reported.

"Nice catch!" Whispered Mintpaw excitedly, "Now, let me give it a try!" She listened closely, her ears attuned to anything and everything in the vicinity. She stayed still, resembling a statue. Her ears were the only thing that moved, rotating every so often,

Suddenly, the blind apprentice burst into animation, streaking from her position into the bushes. She flung herself into the air, her claws catching a jay that had dove into flight. The bird screamed, but Mintpaw yanked it to the forest floor. Her bit down on it's neck, feeling guilty and thankful at the same time. She padded back to her friend, dropping the bird.

"The... River?" Mintpaw's voice was shaky and nervous, and the blind apprentice chewed her lip. She was petrified of water, and she couldn't swim to save her life. However, the apprentice was too proud of herself to admit she was scared. Mintpaw took a deep breath, and stood tall. "Let's go." She mewed, fear being pushed from her brain like old moss from a nest.

"Really? Well, if you think so, feel free to try!" She purred teasingly. Her pale blue eyes gazed to the right of Finchstar's head. "We're getting a storm." The blind she-cat said, her fur rising slightly in the humidity, "We should prepare."

Maplepaw came to attention, padding towards her mentor, " Yes, Sageheart?" She mewed. Her tail flicked, as the scent of herbs wafting into her nose. She bent down, clamping her jaws around a loose piece of marigold that her paw brushed against. She waited for her mentor's request.

Mintpaw was left alone in the forest, confused and slightly scared, "Leafpaw?" She called apprehensively to her friend. Leafpaw had gone one ahead, and the blind apprentice said she would stay in the brush to hunt, instead of going near the water. Now, since Leafpaw had failed to return, Mintpaw had really no idea where she was.

The blind apprentice's ears were flat against her head, her pale eyes wide with fear and confusing. Mintpaw stood over her jay, her body twisting and paws scuffling to get her bearing. Suddenly, Whiteheart's distant voice penetrated her thoughts. "Whiteheart!" She screamed, hoping he could hear her as well.

"Whiteheart?!" Called Mintpaw's panicked voice. Her tail was down, and slightly puffy do to fear. Her ears rotated like crazy, picking up any sound she could.

Whiteheart's response was one, ear shattering, blood curling yowl. The scent of fox hit Mintpaw like a falling oak. She could hear its' rapid, uneven breathing, smell its' foul breath. Her pupils dilated, and the apprentice crouched, wondering whether to strike or flee.

"Whiteheart!" Cried Mintpaw on relief, then it occurred to her what he just did, "Are you crazy?" She heard the scrambling of the beasts' paws against the leaf-carpeted forest floor. Mintpaw braced herself, and with a deep breath, launched herself underneath the approaching foe. The blind apprentice tumbled beneath its' legs, tripping it and sending it crashing. "Timber!" Called Mintpaw.
