in the back of the impatient crowd full of hormonal adolescents stood the silent girl. dressed in maneuverable clothing (consisting of black tights, brown boots, and a thin v-neck baseball style shirt) she awaited for the session to start. usually, the pale skinned female didn't attend practices, but she'd given into her better judgement, acknowledging her poor ground combat. kalixx was more of a mounted fighter, being five-foot, it was harder for her to attack when she was at least five inches shorter than her enemies. she was too spiteful of her height to learn how to fight with her size, so she fought against it, refusing to spar without mount. but here she was, standing on her two feet. it was last training session that drove her to learn to work with her height, when she discovered how utterly weak she was on the ground. they'd knocked her off her mount, and before she could recover to get back on her valiant steed, her enemies surrounded her. and there was nothing she could do about it.

ahhh~ she let out a wistful sigh, feeling so out of place in the crowd of rowdy and utterly irritating teenagers. it frayed her nerves, being without her beast. at least it was cold though. being daughter of a snow goddess, she found an odd comfort in the white ice shards. they were so perfect, and highly contrasted with colours. the pure white sheet of the earth, droplets of crimson red blood of a battle. it was oddly beautiful. and the snow, it was alive she was sure. for how could the crystals fall in such a delicate way? such a purposeful way? they were dancing, a slow delicate ballet to ease the nerves. the only thing that made her think, set her mind ablaze even, was the fact kalixx couldn't feel the cold. she saw the others shiver, lurch back at the frost settling on their flesh. how did that feel? were their teeth sharp? the snow. did it really hurt? what was it like? it was a question forever on her mind.

oh but the lady in charge had already begun speaking. fighting stick? how... odd. she wasn't expecting to be fighting with a tree branch. however, she shuffled her tiny body left and right, incredibly uncomfortable as the crowd moved towards the pile of wood. her short height made her uncomfortable, and she felt even more uneasy in a group of people. her antisocial nature lured her into hanging back behind the group, but this waiting stance allowed her to think.

incredibly indecisive, kalixx observed the fighting sticks with watchful eyes. now she wasn't too skilled at fighting with tree branches, but she did know her woods. which were soft and light, better suited to her, and which were going to be heavy and harsh. teak would be too heavy she remarked silently, eyes lurking on the light amber wood. mahogany, strong but ahh she thought, wincing at the reddish thicker stick. cedar might be nice, knotty and soft the lighter reddish fighting branch looking rather appealing. but ahh hemlock, light and uniform she considered, finding a rather fond desire to grab the light yellowish wood.

however it was when her ears picked up the booming voice of the leader (was hannah her name?) that kal's insides began to churn. picking a partner? this lesson was going too fast ! she hadn't picked her wood yet, and she had to find a partner? ahhh it stressed her. so anxiety broke out over her, skin almost crawling with panic, her breathing heavy. quickly and quietly, she slipped through the dispersing crowd, muttering "sorry's" and "excuse me's". finally she came upon the piles of wood and quickly grabbed whatever was closest, finding to her later regret that what she had gripped was far too heavy and thick for her to manage. maple she cried, carrying the large branch out of the crowd quickly, retreating back to the farthest part of the arena possible. how incredibly impulsive she was when pressured !

weighing the heavy wood between her hands, she struggled slightly, sighing at how the tree branch was so not going to be maneuverable. her mind danced quickly though, soon realizing her next problem of finding a partner. coffee eyes darted around, glancing over her fellow members. what were her choices really? a fire breathing maniac, a standoffish female, a discomforted grouch, a scary music lover, and one who looked way too experienced. ahhh she could always choose some boneheaded aphrodite kid, but didn't really want to. however, it might be beneficial to become acquaintances with an aphrodite child, her hair could use a better dye, the store bought being of poor quailty. she'd dyed her hair a week ago, and already her roots were stark white! mmmmmmmmn.. she thought, biting her lips. she could take a chance with the standoffish one maybe? definitely not the fire breather, kalixx was pretty scared of the crimson flames.

however, she saw her chance when a slender blonde met her eyes, looking to her as if maybe they could be partners? kal was bad at body language so she couldn't be sure, but maybe? the girl didn't look too intimidating, and appeared to be quite bright as well. maybe she could learn something? her insides cringing, she walked over to the girl, head down, eyes cast to the floor. her horrible shyness and social pains made it difficult for her to speak to strangers, and even to people she knew. she felt dizzy, was she going to throw up? maybe she shouldn't have came.

but her voice was reckless, and she spit out a near silent whisper. "do you, me, partner?" she breathed, words short and to the point. it was a bit rude sounding, but it was just because she was terribly shy.

ah this training session wasn't going to end well.
