Lakrios, King of the Ga'Hoole tree, shambled into the main hollow, landing with a thud as he returned from his trip into the farthest of northern territories, already making peace treaties with other territories, even delaying his offical coronation to do so. As he claws fell upon familiar wood, he almost collapsed in exhaustion, and would have, if i was not for a small nurse-maid snake, one he had never seen before, he would have. The snake supported him by the chest as he fell forward, holding him up with suprising ease, it's green scaled body curving to make sure he didn't roll one way or another.
Not wanting to be rude, he leaned back into position, slowly getting up off the snake, who stayed coiled upwards, about eye level with the new king.
"Unghhh... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that" said the owl, shaking his head. "I'm not quite sure what came over me, I'm just rather tired" he said, blurrily investigating the small snake in front of him. It was small, the oddest color for a snake, a beautiful sapphire blue serpent.
"Oh, it's rather fine" said the snake in a suprisingly beautiful voice. "I know how tiring the cold can be" she said, smiling. "I apologize, King Lakrios. My name is Argia, I was recently rescued, along with my sister, from far territorries. And I have you to thank for it" she said, her blue eyes shining. "From what I understand, you had a party go with you to the northern territories, and they rescued me when one of the egg groups was stolen by some raiding falcons looking for a meal" she explained, as she pushed her head against his chest. "I... was talking to some of the owls and other snakes, and well... my sister and I have agreed to be there, not just for you, but for your chicks as well" she said, smiling.
"My... my chicks?" he said, quite suddenly alert. "Wait, we, I, have chicks?" he asked, nervous and jittery
"No, no, not yet" said yet another owl, an emerald one, slithering up right next to the blue one. "But soon. You should get up to your Queen's hollow" she said, smiling. "We'll fill you in then" she said, as they both slithered off.
"No ginht retafa rehtona" he muttered, before flying up to Semira's hollow, landing with perhaps a bit more grace, wrapping his queen in his wings. "Hello, beautiful" he said, smiling, before he saw the eggs, shaking his head. "I'm so sorry I wasn't here for the laying. I'm just glad I'm here for this" he said, smiling as he looked on at the shaking eggs
