Ooc: just finished watching Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., 'FZZT' on DVR.
Ic: Scatty shrugged. "You were immortal once, you were born in the fifteenth century..."
Scatty nodded. "That, you did. I will explain more later." She said, after noticing her sword missing and Snowy leaping through a rock wall to exit. Sophie had the sword and was using the blade to catch attention. The blue wolf, Ice Wolf, was behind Snowy.
"Something I have to do often. Come on." She sighed, walking to the rock that formed the south exit of the Shadow realm. It was starting to darken.
Scatty took the dual blade sword from Sophie before stepping onto a pebble about the size of her fist and leaping out, skillfully landing on another rock. Sophie bolted out after Scathach.
Snowy was rummaging through a backpack she had brought. After pulling out six paperback books, she found a small map and compass, with every Shadow realm listed. Scathach had brought a backpack of her own, and pulled a small iPhone out to contact her sister. Icy was sifting through a puddle to find something. Sophie had gotten herself tangled in a thornbush.
"Yeah. Snowy lived even longer than I have." She said, before leaping up. "I got it!"
Scatty handed the phone to Snowy for the coordinates of the Shadowrealm. "Yes. Be prepared fora suorise. We will be going to see my brother Niten, my sister-in-law Aoife, and my cousin the Double Banded Ninja." She said before taking her phone back and writing the Shadowrealm name and entrances down.
Scathach sighed. "Not my whole family. Two of my aunts and one, maybe both, of my uncles are in the Darkness. My third aunt left me, my parents are dead, and I only have one grandparent left. My brother has not betrayed me yet. But my only truefamily will soon be tangled as a group." She said, perfectly masking the sadness in her voice.
Scatty saw Sophie duck and a silver streak go over her head. "You have more than me in comparison. And, I think we may have found my old apprentice." She said, gesturing to the arrow.
Sophie had made a bow and a few arrows of her own aura and was firing them at someone in the forest in retaliation. There was a loud, stunned cry of "Sacrebleu" from whoever had made and fired the arrow. The voice was clearly female, and the word was French. Scathach's green eyed brightened from their already surprising state. "You may remember her name... In her French language her name is Jeanne d' Arc. Or, Joan of Arc." She said, sounding excited.
Scatty rolled her eyes. "Correct. I trained her, and saved her from being burnt at the stake. She was wounded in the escaoe., and Nicholas performed the first blood transfusions to keep her alive. She became immortal from my blood." She said, following the scents of lavender and vanilla. Leaves crunched on the forest floor. "Immortal humani fake their deaths."
Scatty halted before a clearing. A blond-haired woman who looked no older than twenty was pacing, clearly talking loudly to herself. "Of course, I keep her from touching something and she retaliates and touches it anyway. And of course, using my aura could bring monsters on me, but only me. I survived going back in time to the Pleistocene Epoch, and I gave a return of advice, but I am alone, truly alone..." The girl was saying, French accent nearly making the words sound French. Scatty made a gesture with her left hand. "That, my friend, is Joan of Arc."
Joan turned twords Scatty and Molly, brushing blond hair out from in front of her grey eyes. The first thing noticed was Scathach's vibrant blood red hair. Scatty entered the clearing by going under a branch, holding firm as her former apprentice ran over to give a hug.
Joan nearly knocked Scatty off her feet, before hearing crunching in the leaves. An audible sneeze came from behind where Molly was, and there was a flash of silver and bronze, and the scents of vanilla and cinnamon. Sophie spun around a tree and waited at the edge of the clearing. Snowy laughed and yelled. "Group hug!" And kept into the tangle. Sophie waited for Ice Wolf to join in before taking a risk and nearing the identical aura, but was shocked with a blow that made the air smell more prominently of vanilla and lavender, and a silver spark ignite.
Joan was first to her feet. "Where have you been? Where are the other three?" She asked, both questions pertaining directly to the group five months ago and now. Scatty kept herself on the ground. "Nicholas and Perenelle are dead, and Josh is almost no more." She grumbled, clearly annoyed at a burr on her wrist that refused to be removed. Sophie was rubbing her shoulder, and was shaking her head.
Sophie nodded. "Yes, Nicholas Flamel. He started this, and old age killed him and his wife before he finished it." She whispered, calmly healing a few scratches on her arms with a no- to little-auric spell. Snowy had made a mini blizzard around her and Icy. Scatty and Joan were trying to go for a recap of the past five months.
She nodded in reply. "You are very powerful. Perhaps more powerful than the Archons, or the Elders... or my brother." She had a hard time choking out the last few words.
Sophie looked down at her shoes. "You sound a lot like me and my brother did five months ago... Or maybe... No. Four months and fifteen days ago.
Sophie's blue eyes had gone bloodshot by the time she looked up. "He was possessed, and forced to become a Dark Elder. He fought them and is locked up in a cell, magic gone, defenses gone..." She whispered, sadness distinct in her voice. Scatty and Joan began to walk over to the other pair. Joan spoke first. "Good news and bad news. Good news is, there are many ways to get to the Shadowrealm that Alive and Niten are in. Bad news is, its on the other side of the world." She said. Scatty ended it. "So, plane, boat, or leygate?" She asked, ending with a shudder.
Joan noticed Scathach slowly lowering herself to the ground, and rolled her eyes. "A leygate is like a portal. A leygate in San Fransisco, very close by, will take us to Point Zero in Paris. Another near there to Stonehenge. And the next deposits straight into Japan, near Tokyo, our destination." She explained, calmly.
