Cory walked out of the lake. He shook his head, and water droplets flew out of his hair. He had been up for a while now, and had decided to go for a morning swim with empoleon. Taking his dry clothes, he silently walked to the showers.

Cory heard the screams from crystal and came running as fast as he could. Cory may have been shy, but he liked to help people. As he arrived on the scene, he saw it was a wild Krookodile, and thought, no problem. He thought it was pretty smart to have empoleon sprint the last 100 feet with an aqua jet, which was of course super effective.

Cory tried to calm Crystal down and explain what happened. She seemed a bit less freaked out, and so Cory walked away. Now he was shivering, regretting not drying off more before putting his clothes on.

Cory started to feel better as the day warmed up. However, he had been starving since his swim. He took a huge stretch and bellowed, "DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT'S FOR BREAKFAST?"

Cory yelled "I heard that!"

ic: Cory bolted out of his cabin, screaming "baconbaconbaconbacon!" He flew into the dining hall and stuffed as much in his mouth as he could.

After devouring his fair share, Cory walked out of the dining hall and decided to take a walk, rufflet on his shoulder. As he was walking, he saw Mary and locked eyes with her for a second. He then turned away, cheeks bright red.

Cory turned to what Mary was focused on, and saw the girl-Rai, was it?- unconscious on the ground. This could turn out really bad, he thought. He then heard a distant howling sound, which he recognized. But what would a pack of mightyena be doing out in the morning?

"Rufflet! Surveillance, please! I want to know how far away those mightyena are!" Cory said to his rufflet.

Still a good distance away, Cory didn't hear what Rai whispered. Rufflet returned rather frantically, with a gesture Cory taught it that means "closing in."

Cory turned and barked to the huddled group, "Does anybody have an idea of why Rai was attacked?"

"Thanks," said Cory. He turned to rufflet again. "How many were there?" Rufflet put up 7 feathers.

Cory started towards the scene and called out, "Alright, if worst comes to worst, we can probably hold them off."

"Rufflet, I have one more favor to ask of you. Try and go back and knock out one or two of them. It would help us a lot."
Rufflet disappeared into the woods.

Rufflet didn't come back for quite a while, and Cory became worried. After about 20 minutes, he saw movement in the trees. It was rufflet, with the pack right behind him. Cory watched as rufflet did a full loop to get behind the pack and perform a perfect aerial ace. There were now only five mightyena still standing. Cory turned and ran as fast as he could, yelling "They're here!" He turned, returned rufflet, and sent out zweilous and fraxure. He looked to the group and said, "I'll need some help here!"

"Fraxure! Jump and use Dragon Claw in a spiraling motion! Zweilous, go under him and do the same with Shadow Claw!"

2 more down, and all of them at least damaged. They had started to turn their attention towards Cory.

Cory was more relaxed, now that he had assistance. "Mary, I'm going to distract the last 3. When they're distracted, you take them by surprise."

He called to Fraxure and Zweilous. "Run in between the mightyena and then climb two different trees."

The pokemon obeyed. "Okay, Mary, it's your turn!"
