Fernstep prowled the camp irritably in the aging day, his long strides frustrated and quick. One step for the tom was more like two for most other cats. He was deep in thought and muttering to himself before finally resigning to grab a piece of prey from the freshkill pile. He dug out a small, adolescent rabbit and plopped down some ways from the apprentices. He chanced a look at Riverpaw. Her eyes shot lasers at her adoptive father before she turned back to her friends. That evening she had been pestering Fernstep about what was beyond the borders and it had all resulted in an argument. Obviously she was still mad. The lanky tom grabbed his rabbit firmly be turned around, not facing the apprentice, and continued his meal.

Fernstep was on his feet in an instant. He had no need to be told a second time. There were intruders on their territory. "I'm going on ahead," he yowled to Crookedfoot. And with that, the tall tom bounded into the forest in the direction that Splashpaw had described. Fernstep's lanky legs carried him like the wind as he rushed to the aid of the other cats.
Riverpaw had to suppress a mischievous giggle. "I think that's exactly what we should do," she mowed. She was older, stronger, she could do anything- least of all protect her friends. Besides, maybe this way, Riverpaw would get recognized as a true warrior by Tremorstar and receive her warrior's name. The she-cat was about to say something until, suddenly, a huffing Splashpaw burst into the clearing. She heard the apprentice's brief explanation- intruders, they need backup. Hopping to her feet, Riverpaw glanced longingly at the other apprentices, wishing they could leave now, before glancing at Crookedfoot for permission to go, too. She was vaguely aware of Fernstep rushing out of the camp, but paid him no mind.
-
Riverpaw stood next to Crookedfoot, purposefully avoiding Fernstep. She eyed the undergrowth warily. Surely they had to know they were surrounded? "I say we chase them out," Riverpaw snarled gleefully, in a hushed tone.
Fernstep looked to Silverscale skeptically. "Have we scented rogues on our territory before now? Is it possible they're just passing through?" he asked, heavily aware that so many moons ago, he had been in the same position. Except then, he was the rogue.

Riverpaw watched the newcomers warily, trailing some ways behind them as Wrenflight showed them the camp. As far a the apprentice knew, she was Clanborn, like the rest of her peers. So she had every right to be suspicious of Koi and Mockingbird. Besides, their arrival presented a whole array of opportunities to get away. Maybe Riverpaw would be able to go on that adventure with Indigopaw and Stormpaw, afterall... Dragged from her thoughts by Tremorstar's call, Riverpaw bounded over to the Waterfall, to hear their leader's decision.
Fernstep watched Koi and Mockingbird as they trekked back through the dense and mossy forest. He was meaning to speak with them, however they had been preoccupied with Wrenflight. As they reached the camp, the two outsiders were hustled away to be shown around. Fernstep was going to approach them, when Tremorstar called a Clan Meeting. Reluctantly, the lanky tom took his place infront of the Waterfall, resigning to meet with them, later.

( Oh, and Fernstep and Riverpaw aren't clanborn, either, however Riverpaw doesn't know this. I put that in their forms, so I just kind of assumed it was alright with Okami since she accepted it. o.o )
-
(Nah, it's cool :). It's not as if the whole clan would ever dwell on that- infact I'd like it if it weren't brought up too much. Besides, only cats older than Riverpaw would actually know about it, anyway :))
Riverpaw leapt nimbly to her feet, the idea of getting out appealing to her. Even more so if it was with her mentor. "Sure!" She mewled, flicking her tail eagerly. She wasn't really sure how she felt about Crookedfoot, he was close to the same age as her, but still held a higher authority over her. Whatever. Riverpaw could figure all this out later- now was the time for some fun.
-
Riverpaw nodded enthusiastically as she bounded after her mentor.
(Sorry, I'm a bit museless right now >m<)
-
A flutter of movement captured Riverpaw's attention as she wobbled on the branch. A bird's nest! she thought, seeing a dull-brown robin fly from a patchy ensemble of twigs and strings. Nudging her mentor gently, Riverpaw motioned to the unguarded nest, with a flick of her tail.

( That's fine with me anD I AM SO ABSURDLY SORRY FOR BEING ABSENT THE PAST TWO DAYS.
But, no, really- I'm sorry. I got crazy busy with school and junk and couldn't get on :P RavenFlight, if you'd like to continue Crookedfoot and Riverpaw's little adventure, I'd be cool with that. :) If not, then that's fine, too. owo )EDIT:
Oh, and also: will Koi and Mockingbird's kits be available for adoption(as in we choose one or you assign them to us) for us to roleplay :)? And if so, could I rp one of them? You could pick the attitude, appearance, and gender and stuff, if you'd like. If not, I could do it for whichever. Whatever you decide, I'll be cool with- whether we can rp them or not it fine by me. :) -
OOC: I'd love to rp Frostkit, if you think that'd be okay :).
IC:
Fernstep lingered outside of the nursery, mumbling to himself thoughtfully, before finally placing a tentative paw inside. He greeted Koi and Mockingbird formally(if they're both still in there) before sweeping his fluffy tail around his paws as he sat. "I'm sorry to ask such a thing as this, especially with the certain circumstances, however, I can't wait any longer." Fernstep cleared his throat- traces of emotion just barely audible in his voice that was so much more different than the rest of the Clan's. "Have the two of you ever encountered any other Clan cats in the past, maybe 11- 10 moons or so?" The lanky tom had a dead seriousness in his eyes that burned with quiet subtlety. -
OOC: Cool names! :P
IC:
Fernstep nodded thoughtfully. He paused for a moment, "And do you know what-" he broke off, before continuing, "What ever became of this clan? If you ever encountered anyone from it after that?" The tom forced himself to swallow the lump that had been forming in his throat. His whiskers twitched with tension. -
OOC: Awesome, I love it!

IC:
Fernstep gave one last thoughtful nod before standing up, clearly crestfallen. "Thank you, anyway," he meowed solemnly. "Oh, and, congratulations on the kits. May StarClan watch them become strong warriors." He added this last part, more as an afterthought, before the lanky tom padded quietly out of the Nursery. -
-
OOC: Oh, wow, I'm so sorry! I forgot all about Riverpaw and Crookedfoot's adventure.
I've been a bit dumb this week.IC:
Riverpaw twitched her ears gleefully as she entered the camp with Crookedfoot, setting the eggs down carefully so they wouldn't crack. "Crookedfoot," she asked, bowing her head out of respect- and act that had become habitual for her. Riverpaw couldn't keep a look of longing escape from her stunningly amber eyes as the feeling of joy and excitement from their egg-collection fun began to fade. How did she really feel about him? "May I take an egg or two to Koi and Jadepelt in the nursery?" the apprentice asked, shoving away her growing feelings.Frostkit tumbled from the warm bundle that was his siblings, mewling loudly at the sudden lack of warmth and comfort. He couldn't've been more than half-a-mouse length from them, yet he cried angrily all the same. The small kit, with his ginger splotches, sneezed, the nursery air irritating his soft, pink nose. Frostkit hissed pitifully, startled by the sudden and unfamiliar action.
-
Riverpaw smiled despite herself and bounded carefully after Indigopaw.
Frostkit quickly feel asleep amongst his siblings, content to be so warm and oblivious.
(Sorry, low muse :\)

Awesome :P Oh, and sorry for being absent from the thread so recently- I'll be on more now. owo So, are the apprentices still going to sneak out of the camp to see what's beyond their forest?[Rainpaw's motivation for the expedition is to prove herself of they find anything of interest and receive her warrior name] :) ) -
Anyone tried messaging the sign-up creator yet? I don't mean spam or a message expressing anyone's annoyances- just something along the lines of: "Hey, the Sign Up has been up for a while and we were wondering when the RP thread would be created. :) We understand that people have lives outside of this thread and get busy- and we'd be happy to help make it!" Something nice and far from demanding. I dunno, people get busy/forgetful, and it wouldn't help them to get bossed around. :P
-
OOC: Could we skip to evening? Like, just when the majority of the camp is going to be? (I was thinking that maybe then the apprentices would go on their adventure or whatever. :P Or get caught. Or whatever you choose :) Actually, would that be apart of the prophecy you've been talking about? :-\)
Also! There's a recap on page 8, and nothing has really happened much after that. And a few of the apprentices were discussing sneaking out of camp to see what's beyond their forest. :)

(So, okay, I know there's three in this picture but, um, he looks like them. Okay? Okay. :))Foxpaw is a lithe tom with fur the color of rust and black ears with tufts at the ends. His underbelly is of a red-cream color, as are the fur around his pads and inner ears, and he has black markings accentuating his eyes, brow, and whiskers. His claws are thin and sharp, as darkly colored as his pupils, which are surrounded by grey irises. Although he is small in size, Foxpaw is light on his feet, agile when he needs to be. His fangs are stunningly white and his whiskers are unruly and long. He has a habit of running around with his fur unkempt and his black-tipped tail dusty. Foxpaw possesses a smooth, melodic voice that can change from calming and soothing to genuine harshness in a matter of seconds. This attributes to his good story-telling.
❤Personality:
Foxpaw us wise beyond his years, with a sensible mind. He's thoughtful to the extent of dazing off, losing himself in daydreams or his own thoughts- this could be deadly in the chance of battle. Hopefully his inattentiveness is simply the result of his young and ignorant age. Albeit a bit spacey, this novice apprentice knows when to shut up and when to talk. Actually, he doesn't talk that much at all. This has him labeled as "weird" among his peers, the adults often comment that they "need to keep an eye on that one." Foxpaw has noticed this, but doesn't care much for the criticism. In fact, he almost welcomes it- unable to feel contempt towards his clanmates due to his compassionate and forgiving nature. He's understanding and considerate of other's feelings, not to mention a loyal friend. Too bad he's just too awkward to actively associate with the other apprentices. He's just different in some way that he can't place a paw on...❤History:
This character is open for siblings and parents! If nobody volunteers for that, then I guess he could have been born into the clan as an only child, maybe his other littermate(s) died or something, and his mother died while he was at a young age. Or, he was codependent enough that she decided to break her connections with him. Either way, he's a young apprentice in Crimson Clan who's trying his absolute hardest to meet the expectations of his clan.❤Character Plots:
If this character were to be killed off, which I'm not totally opposed too :), I would prefer it be when he's an adult and possibly even an important character. If he gets teasing and taunting for the potential murders, I wouldn't mind that either. ;)❤Role-play Sample:
Foxpaw crept through the nighttime forest on silent paws, his haunches were tensed and ears alert. The young tom hunted alone this time, relishing in the quiet, cool atmosphere. He kept the sweet, musky scent of a young hare in a tight grip as he tracked it dutifully. Each time he thought he was just upon it, Foxpaw had to bound into the forest in a vain quest to reaffirm the trail. Soon, familiar grasses and looming trees morphed into dark, looming figures in the night, shadowed by the moon that seemed further and further away each time it peaked through the winding branches. Wracked by fear and terror, the young apprentice grasped to the last inkling of certainty left: the hare. There was no more precise tracking or careful stepping, now Foxpaw bounded after the ever-illusive rabbit as quick as his rust-tinted paws could carry him. He was gaining on it. Before he could react, the wild, untamed surroundings broke away to reveal a grassy field, characterized by moon-inspired light and soft earth. Foxpaw, in mid run, propelled off his back legs and sprang upon the evasive hare, pinning it to the ground. Foxpaw peered into the frightened prey's eyes as he went for a deadly bite-and-twist to the trapped animal's neck. As if on que, the aforementioned hare flickered- and then it was a cat. Older than Foxpaw in so many ways, the wise cat he couldn't possibly recognize spoke with strong, wispy words that seemed to resonate around the clearing, making it to the sky and whipping Silverpelt into a flurry, "This is not meant to be your fate. It was never meant to be your fate." The figure looked into Foxpaw's grey eyes, its own pools of infinitcy.
Foxpaw awoke on his back, shivering. His eyes adjusted to the familiar setting of the apprentice's den, his fur tangled with stray clumps of moss from his nest. Careful not to disturb the other apprentices, he smoothed his fur out- not bothering to pick the dry vegetation from it- and settled back into his sleep-spot. Foxpaw twitched his whiskers uncertainly as he pondered upon his dream. What could it possibly mean? Was it a sign? These thoughts soon dulled into senseless syllabals as Foxpaw drifted off to a heavy, dreamless, slumber.Recap: So, basically this is a dream of a past Med. cat (doesn't matter who) telling Foxpaw that he isn't meant to be a warrior or elite or leader of any kind, to not receive some sort of honor by means of hunting or fighting or defending the camp through physical means. Just that he's meant to be a medicine cat one day, and meds have strong connections with Starclan, thus the ominous dream :P
