Stepping through the doorway when he was acknowledged he smiled lightly to the young prince with the slightest bit of a bow of his head. Even if he had meant to be alone Noah was far from happy to stand by while he was clearly unhappy. It was his birthday after all and it would probably help to have someone acknowledge that it mattered. “I hope I’m not disturbing your peace and quiet.” He hummed softly as he took in Alastair’s features bathed in the moonlight. The boy he’d known had grown up right before his eyes. He’d only gotten more handsome over the years. The smile reached his eyes in response to Alastair’s questioned what brought him up here. “I suppose you caught me. I came to make sure you were alright.” The knight admitted somewhat sheepishly as he slowly moved to stand at the prince’s side.

“Ah, yes.” He said quickly as he seemed to suddenly remember the package he had tucked safely under his arm. Pulling out the package he held it in his hand a moment longer looking it over before holding it out for him to take. “It is your birthday isn’t?” He responded in his usual rather bright way. “I am not all that big on the classics, but I remember you mentioned you wanted this book. I found it last year during my travels.” He explained with a shrug trying to sound as nonchalant as possible, when there was a hidden anticipation to see his reaction to his gift for the young prince.

It had been a miracle that he had found the book to begin with. As soon ash he had his hands on the book it took everything in him to keep from sharing the news with Indulf. He’d managed to entirely keep this a secret up to this point. To keep himself from staring endlessly at the prince expectantly. Humming lightly to himself he carefully moved to stare out over the dimly-lit town. It was very comparatively serene backdrop compared to the hustle and bustle of the party they had left. He was a far from an introspective man he could understand the peace of mind Alastair found out here.

Noah’s eyes carefully moved back towards the younger man. “I’m sure you had to have a good reason.” The knight kept his voice rather softly before offering a lopsided smile. He didn’t have anything he needed to justify himself to Noah. It wasn’t as if it was out of the ordinary for the prince to be more avoidant of social events, especially comparing to his brother. “It was getting to be overwhelming for me as well.” He fibbed, skewing the fact that he had come out here just for him. Sighing rather heavily he went to leaning his weight against the railing of the balcony. Tapping his fingers on the balcony he stood in the silence waiting for Alastair’s input on his gift, seeming the tiniest bit anxious.

Eventually dragging himself off the deck he helped get the knots untied, snapping at a couple of his crew that decided to slice the rope because they weren’t able to figure out how to get the knot undone. Rolling his eyes he mumbled something to himself about the fact that rope didn’t grow on trees. While there was still much to be done the sun was already setting far too early, besides the crew was more than eager to be able to sit down for a hot meal and get some much needed rest. Of course he was right in there with them, ready to warm himself with some strong rum. The crew was rather quiet throughout the meal before shuffling off to find a place to crash for the night. Dragging himself back up to his quarters. His hair was little more than a tangled stringy mess at this point and his clothes stuck awkwardly to his skin. Kicking his boots, leaving them standing in the middle of the room before throwing his clothes on the bed.

Changing into a fresh set pair of pants he held his shirt in his hands as he noticed he saw an all too familiar form standing in the moonlight. He certainly could just ignore Frey and leave him in peace. All the same he couldn’t really help himself. Throwing his shirt over his shoulder he pulled open the door making his way across the moonlit desk. Crossing his arm over his chest he smiled a little to himself as he approached the other. His fingers worked through his spindly tangled hair. “I should congratulate you for surviving your first storm.” A low chuckle rumbled through his chest as he made his way over to join him on the railing. Leaning heavily on the dark wood he did his best to conceal a very loud yawn. With a heavy blink he rolled his neck hearing a few loud pops in succession in the back of his neck. “That was a big, but it could have been a whole lot worse.” Gripping on close the railing he moved to grab on to the railing with both hands before swinging both of his legs over the railing.

Slipping his feet through the slits in the railing to keep himself from plunging into the ocean below. Holding on tightly he hummed softly to himself. The storm reminded him of the exhilaration of being on a ship. He got rather comfortable with his little makeshift family sometimes it was easy for him to forget that he could easily loose all of it with one massive wave or a well placed cannonball shot.

Roffe made himself comfortable on the piece of wood he was perched on, unbothered by the water below. He’d always wanted to push how close he could get to the water without it being able to drag him down. He would scare his father and crew half to death every time they caught him sitting, or sometimes even standing on the railing. Eventually they just tied a long rope along the railing and gave up on trying to get him to stop. It also earned him the nickname Monkey from the previous Captain Kent. “You don’t get to see a lot of those storms. They come and the waves are so strong they sweep you and your rope out into the middle of the sea.” He joked darkly turning his head out to look towards the water. All the while he could hear the soft click of claws across the deck. Quirking a brow he watched the raven in his journey across the deck seemingly equally curious of the bird as it was of him. Strangely he found him wondering just what the bird seemed to have made up its mind about when looking at him. Shaking his head he reminded himself it was a bird. Of course anything was possible at this point.

In the lull of silence he released a long slow breath in and back out again. His mind drifted a few other places, like a buoy set loose in the tide. “Don’t ever count on me being asleep. Good chance I’ll still be up lurching around until morning.” Shrugging his shoulders a little he was being honest. Kent didn’t ever seem to find sleep all that easy, until everything on his mind was settled, so some nights he didn’t get a wink of sleep at all. “Besides, I wouldn’t want to miss one of our little late night chats.” Chuckling softly to himself he lightly nudged the other’s side with his elbow. They always seemed to end up meeting here anyway, regardless of whether or not they meant to. He would occasionally let one of his feet slip loose of the slants in the railing to let them lazily dangle over the side of the ship. It was amusing enough to watch the raven seemingly get on Alex’s nerves.

“Is that bird your familiar or something like that?” Kent questioned with an incline of his head. He might have been doing a bit more reading after Alex had shared his secret. It could just be a bird, but after everything he’d seen that seemed like the least likely answer to the question. Peeling a hand off of the railing he used it brush his hair aside bracing himself against the railing just in case a strong wave showed up. Clamping his hands back against the wood he looked from the bird to the person the bird was using as a perch, toying with the bandana that was covering up his hair. It reminded the young captain of the fact he still hadn’t see what his hair looked like underneath. Of course, it was rather low on his list of priorities for the moment.

With a stifled chuckle the man ideally nodded his head. Chat probably wasn’t the best descriptor for their first handful of conversations. Slowly, but surely Alex had warmed up to the crew and the crew had warmed up to him. Of course, he was the only one on the ship who knew that he had anything more noteworthy about him than a pair of silver eyes. Not that it was a big deal either way. His crew had been accepting of just about anyone they’d absorbed into their little crew. He’d probably just have to ease them into the idea. While he was following that rabbit hole of a thought, he almost completely missed the fact that Alex had an answer for him. Shaking his head he quickly turned to look back to him, managing to catch most of what he said. Something about them being bonded to souls and the fact that the raven was special because he was found not summoned. Strangely, he was a hard time keeping focused on much of anything there for a moment. Roffe just chalked it up to stress and exhaustion.

With another laugh he watched the bird of his puff out its chest clearly knowing it was something special just like his person. “That bird is something for sure then.” He hummed stowing away the new information for later. Wherever Alex’s mind was taking him seemed to take the light from his eyes with him. Watching a dullness take its place, he had to readjust his precarious position on the railing. Then he and Slick exchanged a look. Kent wasn’t sure how he was feeling about the way the bird was looking at him, like he had a plan in mind. Settling in he watched the show between the two of them. That was until the red bandana finally was pulled loss from his head for the first time to reveal…yet another surprise he hadn’t been expecting.

“Holy shit!” He hissed as he almost lost his grip on the railing having to quickly look away to keep from falling over the side. Clamping his hands down tightly to the wood only sighing when his weight settled on the railing again. Casting a look at Alex he was clearly still having to process the fact that he not only had silver eyes, but silver hair as well. An seemingly unending amount of new surprises. Taking a deep breath he got over that and the brief jump in his heartbeat.

“Full of surprises aren’t you?” Sighing a little to himself the young captain shook his head. He should have guessed there was more he was hiding, not that silver hair would have been his first guess either. Shaking his head lightly to himself he kicked his legs back over to stand himself up on the deck. “I guess I can see why you were hiding it.” He commented watching him for a moment. It was like seeing a clean shaven man with a beard. It was a stark contrast seeing him here now with the silvery hair that made him look almost unworldly in the moonlight. That would have been much harder to explain away then silver eyes.

His mismatched eyes followed Alex as he made his way across the deck to disappear beneath the deck. The captain stayed standing on the deck for a while longer before he finally couldn’t hold back a low yawn that signaled it was time to get some sleep. Pulling his arms high above his head he strolled through the moonlight back to his room. He hummed quietly to himself as he closed the door softly behind him. A few of the treasure put on display had been knocked around in the storm. Sighing he shook his head as he came face to face with the shattered remains of what had once been a priceless statue. He couldn’t recall just how his father had gotten it or why he always had it displayed for all to see. Throwing the pieces into an empty bucket he slumped down into his bed, the need for sleep finally over taking him and leading him to crash on to the sheets, not even bothering to take off his boots before doing so. Burying his face in the the pillow the rest of the word fell into darkness.

The two days that followed were rather uneventful in comparison. There were no great storms threatening to blow them off course. The sea was calm and his men were relatively happy and comfortable. They were still grumbling about the small portions or bland food they were being given, but Howell and he had agreed to try conserve whatever they could until they were able to unload their wares in Xei-Wei Clar. While the island was a safe bet in terms of moving the goods with few questions, they didn’t have as many contacts that might be able to push what they had and get them money as quickly as they’d like. Roffe wasn’t too overly concerned considering the fact that they had valuable goods, it wouldn’t matter in the end where they came from.

Everything had fallen into a pretty nice routine in the meantime. He still had his late night chats with Frey on the upper deck. It had become an unintentional habit, but he wasn’t really complaining about it either. The secret mage seemed to have fit himself pretty well among the rest of the crew. He’d even caught Winn saying something positive about him and his work ethic once, which was high praise coming from a former navy man.

When the call rang out signaling that land wasn’t far off Roffe was below deck helping divvy up the items and take stock of just what they had. Of course he was all doing it from an overturned barrel he was perched on. Winn was standing on his right scrawling down a neat list of what exactly they should have and the possible value of the item might be. The young captain in the mean while had his mouth fixed in a thin line as his eyes flickered about the room, not really focusing on anything particular. “I’ll track down Haun, she’ll probably be willing to take a few things off our hands or at least give us the name of someone who might.” Kent decided sliding himself off the barrel.

Smiling he seemed rather satisfied with himself for coming up with a solution. Winn looked up, his pen paused mid-air at the name, a bit of ink splattering down on to the page. Breathing sharply he quickly scribbled a few more things on the page before the ink dried all together. “There are others besides Haun, that are more....” He trailed off as he looked up and realizing that Roffe had already gone above deck as they drew closer to land. Rolling his eyes a little the other man finished what he was doing before moving to join Kent on the upper deck, still with his list clamped tightly in hand. The pair stood side by side as they slowly drew towards the harbor. Small fishing boats were flanking the water on all sides. He watched as they hoisted up a yellow flag to make their intentions known to those in the port.

The cold wind tugged and pulled on her coat as she briskly moved to make her rounds for the morning. The grass was already starting to turn golden and brittle. It wouldn’t be long now before the winter storms buried them under the powdery snow. It had been relatively quiet lately. The occasion hawk was always flying overhead, waiting for a young chicken to pluck up of course. Still, she thanked her lucky stars that the vile wolves were keeping their distance from her home. There was no room for them here. Peaking her head through the slants of the fence watching the cows and sheep out in the fields. Slipping through the space in between the fences she stretched her legs as she ran across the pasture, hardly getting any attention from the animals she passed. Poppy slowed coming to the edge of their fence, which the humans used to mark their territory, she began to slowly move along the fence following it all the while trying to pick out any scents that didn’t belong there. Her ears shot up and her whole body went still when the musky scent of a wolf reached her nose. Snapping her head up this way and that she scanned the horizon for just where the smell had come from.

Prowling along the remainder expanse of the fence she followed wherever the scent was leading her. Even if all wolves smelled practically the same to her this was still a scent that was new to her. A wolf dense enough to come on to her master’s land was going to have to learn what a poor choice that really was. A low growl rumbled deep in her throat she turned sharply to make her way back to the animals. With a sharp bark she began organizing the sheep back into a uniform herd to drive them back into the safety of the the barn. The flurry of activity would hopefully be enough to bring out her owner from inside. He would bring his gun and make short work of any intruders on their land. In the mean time she pushed the sheep back towards home, keeping her attention on her surroundings expecting to see the wolf at any time.

Giving a light half blink to realization he seemed to realize his oversight bowing to the younger prince. “Oh yes sorry, old habits I suppose.” The knight said keeping his tone breezy. It had been drilled into his head from an early age to show respect to those in a higher station. It was so ingrained in his personality he still would even use the same formalities with all of the royal family, even when it might not be necessary. He turned his face back to the prince giving him his undivided attention, curious as he stopped himself in the middle of his sentence to ask him something. His face softened the lightest bit quickly nodding his head. “Noah would be just fine with me.” Noah decided after a short pause for thought.

A wide grin spread across his face with his eyes lighting up as he watched Alastair rip away at the paper to reveal the book eager to see his reaction to it. He turned himself around to face the prince to take in his reaction fully. Of course the hug was unexpected. Halting his breath he stood still until the prince pulled away after a long heartbeat. Putting his hand up to his chest he felt his heart seem to jump with the excitement from the unexpected show of affection.

His excitement cooled with the apology that swiftly followed. Looking away he lightly nodded his head, trying to keep his disappointment from showing on his face. “It’s alright.” He added quickly clearing his throat the lightest bit getting a grip on himself. It was just a mistake nothing more. It would be foolish to read anything more to into it. His dim smile quickly relit itself once again.

“You’re very welcome. I’m thrilled to hear you like it.” The knight beamed as he breathed in softly taking it as a small consultation that the present was something the prince would enjoy and cherish. Even if Alastair had no interest in him, he felt rather secure in the fact that he was able to find the book he had wanted so badly. Sighing a little to himself he kept his eyes fixed at the air in front of him until the prince spoke again. His blue hues turned to move to attentively listen to him as he partially explained the reasoning he had fled the party before it was over. His eyebrow formed a silent question as to what the second reason, might be. He didn’t actually verbalize this question though, instead silently nodding in confirmation to his question.

“Yeah.” Nodding he clasped his hands in front of him continuing to look at Alastair. “I enjoy the dancing and socializing, but that’s only so much fun when I have no interest in any women, that I was dancing with.” He stumbled heavily over his own words, quickly tacking on more when he realized that he had almost given himself away. His shoulders coiled up the tiniest bit as he looked towards the prince watching briefly for his reaction.

Let’s go on an adventure !

Mia had herself prepared for either outcome. Either to have to cheer her friend up if he lost or cheer him on if he and Ki managed to pull it off. Even, still it took her a handful of seconds longer to process the fact that he had come out on top. She stared between the down Poochyena and the Oshawott who was still standing. A wide smile broke out across her face. “I knew you would!” She squealed barely able to contain herself. Practically skipping her way over to him she wrapped him up in a quick excited hug. It was hard not to be overwhelmed after a nail biter like that.

Yew was reluctant to move from her spot. She wore a smile at the outcome, but she wasn’t going to get too emotional, that might tarnish her image. Her eyes widened slightly at seeing Ki barreling right towards her. She tried and failed to get herself out of the way. Instead the Water Type bowled right over the top of her. Frowning she looked up at him for a moment, she had planned to chew him out, but she couldn’t burst his bubble like that. “Sniv. Sni.” Giving him her own stamp of approval she also tried to get him to stop crying at least.

Alder brought them all back to reality. The boy was readjusting his glasses again looking down at his Poochyena. “Sorry we weren’t able to win this one.” The student muttered to his Pokemon before recalling him back. He gave Ethan a quiet look before nodding his head. “Thank you for the opportunity to battle.” He spoke dryly before moving back to join the other kids in his class.

Grinning from ear to ear Mia gratefully took the Pokédex from Alder. Nodding eagerly to Alder she glanced over her shoulder at her starter. Of course she hardly could take all of the credit for their victory, but she was happy regardless. Holding on tightly to her Pokédex she watched Alder as he made his way back inside followed by a mob of students right on his heels.

Mia tucked her Pokédex away for the moment before giving her friend her full attention. “That’s what friends are for. We keep each other from getting into too much trouble. We’ll both keep getting better from here.” Mia insisted a fire briefly lighting in her eyes. As far as she was concerned there was no where to go, but up from here. She undid the strap of her bag flopping down in the grass. Crouching down she rummaged through her bag for a coupe moments. Producing a couple of Super Potions. Placing one down in his hand she turned to look back at their Pokemon. “I think we should take some time to let them know how lucky we are to have them as our partners. We couldn’t have done any of this without them.” Yew has finally managed to get herself out from under Ki, just for Mia to scoop her up a moment later. The Snivy sighed to herself shaking her head.

    border-aussie-1024x733.jpg

The white flock of sheep was easily shepherded back towards the safety of the large metal shed. She barely had a moment to breath before the stench of wolf overwhelmed her once. A lightning bolt of fear struck her where she stood. The wolf had slipped past without her notice. Growling loudly to herself she quickly took off running with a sudden commotion that came from around the other sides of the barn. The chickens frantic calls and loud flapping of their wings. Her heart dropped inside her chest. As she ran she sounded the alarm, her sharp barks sounding out through the farm.

Making it the chicken coop she growled lowly as she watched the wolf standing there uselessly snapping at the chickens shooting across the coop trying to fly away. The loud bang of the screen door could be heard somewhere behind her. Not able to contain her anger a moment longer she leapt forwards springing into action. Barking wildly she danced around the larger coal black brute trying to get his attention off of the children. He tried to snap her teeth at him trying to keep out of his reach.

The elderly old man hobbled his way down the stairs as Poppy’s barks drew him out of the house. Holding a shotgun he shouted at the top of his lungs, calling Poppy away. The sheepdog sharply turned to reluctantly returning to her owner’s side. Raising his gun up in the air he let out a loud warning shot, before turning the barrel of his gun to face towards the large wolf. Certainly he wasn’t afraid to shot the wolf if it meant saving his livelihood.

    border-aussie-1024x733.jpg

The hackles along her neck began to rise as soon as the wolf spoke for the first time. It sent a slight chill down her back. Peeling her lips back in a snarl she kept her spot beside her owner. The older man stood poised staring down the barrel of his shotgun, his finger hovering over the trigger. Poppy angled her body towards the wolf in case he thought to make any moves towards her human. She growled softly to herself at the derogatory way the wolf spoke to her. “Why come here? Are all the rabbits too fast for you to catch?” She snapped back punctuating it with a low growl. She did it mostly to hide the slight humiliation burning under her pelt. She hated that he was able to get under her pelt like this.

Her human gave another shout, sounding louder and stronger than the old man truly was. She watched her human out of the corner of her eye. A bit of concern flashing in her soft brown eyes. He almost looked like the wind was going to knock him over. If he shot the wolf it would mean he would be out here all night waiting for the rest of the pack to show up, he’d done it before. The loyal dog that she was, she couldn’t let that happen. “Make a run as soon as the gun lowers and don’t come back here again.” The sheepdog barked slowly ripping her eyes away from the black brute. Her body language changed on a dime. Lowering her head she made herself as small possible ducking her head as she went to hide behind her owner whining lowly the entire time.

The elderly man dropped his muzzle the slightest bit as he looked back over his shoulder. He barked a question at her that she didn’t really understand, but knew what he was trying to ask. Her coat was burning even hotter as she continued to watch the wolf. Now was the time to go. If he could. She always lamented the fact that her human couldn’t speak to her like the wolf could, then she could have just asked him to let the sorry excuse for a canine go. Instead she had to find a way to distract him instead.

Alright awesome! I’m on mobile so sorry for any typos or anything

Idea 1 (supernatural/medieval?): A young explorer finds an ancient tomb. Inside they found a someone locked up inside. A demon to be exact that wants to watch the world burn. They convince the explorer to break the seal. Only catch is now that demon is bound to the adventurer until they fulfill their greatest dream

Idea 2 (slice of life): Ranch hand/ ranch owner’s daughter with the ranch hand’s past coming back at some point

Idea 3: Former partners in crime reuniting after one of them goes straight

Yep I was thinking maybe Muse A can maybe see a manifestation of Muse B that only they could see. I think it would depend on what Muse A’s end goal would be. Maybe it could lead to Muse A starting to become corrupted by demon and Muse B starts to reformed by Muse A.

”You did so good Yew. I’m so proud of you!” Squeezing her Pokemon tightly to her chest, keeping her in a tight hug until the Snivy was able to wriggle her way out of her trainer’s grip. Shaking her head to herself she slid down back down the the ground again dusting herself off. Glaring up at her trainer she lightly shook her head her smothering was cheapening her feeling of accomplishment. Mia nearly jumped out of her skin when Ethan started asking her about her Pokemon being rather urgent about it. “Alright, let’s meet this new Pokémon properly.” She hummed as she fished the Pokédex from her pocket. Holding her Pokeball out in front of her. The bright light appeared as the grey Pokemon came to stand out in battlefield. Blinking it’s violet eyes she carefully looked around this way and that in bewilderment. It took several seconds before she seemed to catch up to what exactly was going on. The Espurr quietly stared up at the two humans humans in confusion watching as Mia pulled out her Pokedex to scan her new teammate.

“Espurr, the restraint Pokemon.” The Pokédex spit out. “It has enough psychic energy to blast everything within 300 feet of itself, but it has no control over its power.” Mia blinked her blue eyes looking up between the Pokedex and her Espurr. The tiny Pokemon lightly inclined her head to one side than the other seeming unaware of what was happening. The Pokedex made it sound like she had literally caught a time-bomb or something like that. Pushing that thought aside she crouched down staring at her moves and type. “Hi Espurr.” She said cheerfully holding her hand out to the Pokemon. All she got was a blank stare in return.

I’m about to go to bed, I wanted to get this thread up. I will add my character form in the morning
