"Maybe you have the beginning of a cold" Daffodil spoke carefully, trying to find an explanation for the kits unexpected chill.

Daffodil suppressed the rising anxiety in her and licked the kit rhythmically trying to keep her warm.
-
Daffodil watched the trees for any sign of her leaders return. What could be taking her so long? The question echoed around her head and made her anxious. Being out alone was dangerous even for a cat as strong as Pitchblackstar.

I don't know if any of you have seen or like Balto, but I watched it yesterday and it also annoyed me that is one of the sled teams there was a tiny dog. One not capable of being in a sled team at all! Sorry just wanted to mention it.

(This rp is very different from how it started off ;) )

I'm guessing it was the rule about no relationships with dogs from other teams if you were a lead dog. I changed that, sorry I didn't see that at the start.

Redkit shook her head without meeting the medicine cat's eye.
Gentlestep stepped forward from behind her kit and pressed gently on Redkit's pad with her soft paw.
Redkit squealed and wrenched her paw away. "That hur-" She nodded sheepishly. "It still hurts"

Vangkit ignored Yellowkit's persistent pushing towards the barn and scampered after her and Frostpoppy. "I will be a warrior of Frostclan too, and I am going to help defend it" He whispered fiercely to them.

Rafeal kneaded the ground with her impatient paws and took a glance at all the other teams dogs. Whenever a race was near, her mind had a way of seeing all the competitors to be huge and strong. To relieve her nerves she trotted over to Mirai. "How do you like our chances in this race?" She asked her lead dog quietly.
-
Vangkit gave a smile back. "Where's this badger?" He growled, flicking his head around.
-
Rafeal had hoped for a slightly more optimistic answer, but it was the answer she had expected. "We have tough dogs too, but you're right. This will be a close race" She said, studying the Husky Mirai had pointed out. "We'll need all the skills our team possesses"
-
Vangkit stood stubbornly beside Yellowkit watching the exchange between her and the mysterious cat without a word. "What are you doing here?" He broke in mistrustfully. "Why do all these strange spirit, guardian cats appear? Why can't you all leave us alone?"
-
Vangkit sat down with a thump. "Who's training who for what darkness?" He asked FirstOne, not quite believing he was mortal.
-
"You mean... Shadowshade wasn't the worst?" Vangkit meowed fearfully, seeing terrifying images of dark cats in his head.
-
Vangkit shook his head, thinking he heard wrong. "Shadowshade didn't want to protect us! He was evil!"
-
Vangkit leapt away from FirstOne and raced for the safety of the barn. He ignored the stones going into his paws as he charged to his home.
-
Vangkit scrabbled up to the hay loft next to Yellowkit with heaving breaths.
