Nicole Kidman has an Australian accent. She sounds pretty much like the average Aussie does.

    Hmmm.

    Okay. I just pictured you Australians talking like they do in that documentary about the fish that goes MIA. I guess I have been misled by filmography once again.

    Another question, since you're so smart when it comes to voices.

    Why is Jennifer Tilly's voice so annoying?

    @ - Paramore

    Aha, okay. x3 I guess you have a point, but; I'll elaborate more, I suppose.

    But first, a question; Have you read Battle Royale? Because if you haven't, then well. . . Trying to get you to see how I view it would be a bit pointless as you would only have my words to go off of, having not read the book yourself you wouldn't see yourself the similarities.

    But anyway - -

    Let's first look at the premises of the books, shall we?

    The Hunger Games

    "In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV."

    Battle Royale

    "Koushun Takami's notorious high-octane thriller envisions a nightmare scenario: a class of junior high school students is taken to a deserted island where, as part of a ruthless authoritarian program, they are provided arms and forced to kill until only one is left standing. Criticized as violent exploitation when first published in Japan - where it became a runaway best seller - Battle Royale is a Lord of the Flies for the 21st century, a potent allegory of what it means to be young and (barely) alive in a dog-eat-dog world."

    Now, the similarities we learn just from reading these summaries - -

    - Children are being forced to kill each other.
    - Children are being forced to kill each other by their government.
    - Children are being forced to kill each other by their government to keep the people in line.

    Yes, there are books with powerful governments. Yes, there are books with the main characters [ lolol, a lot of them ] being in a love relationship/crush/thing. Yes, villains often appear unbeatable. However, it isn't these things alone that make it seem like a rip-off - - - It is these things and the main plot of children being forced to kill each other. Ms. Collins could have very well chosen to go about this a different way - - Have a deranged man or woman, sick in the head, decide out of the blue to kidnap some children. Maybe multiple deranged/sick men and women working together. She could have had the main characters despise each other; or have a one sided relationship. A longing crush, one that just wouldn't work out. But, no; how she delivers everything is wayyy too similar to BR for me to ignore and brush off as another simple, oh it's like that in a lot of books kind of deal.

    But, now - - I wouldn't have minded if she hadn't changed a thing, kept the book as is; If she had just given credit where credit was due. This was not an original idea, and I believe she did have prior knowledge of Battle Royale. And it's not just because of these general things, either, even the characterization is similar. The hero, the good guy, the one everyone is rooting for; a bit of a boring character, and yet somebody who you can relate to. Katniss from THG and Shuya from BR. The princess time character, easily labeled as another 'hero' but in truth, much weaker than the main character. Prone to illness and injury, spends most of the book in a sickly state. Peeta from THG and Noriko from BR. The beast villain, strong physically - - A force to be reckoned with, somebody whom seems unbeatable. Fighting? It seems like it would be suicide, really. Cato from THG and Kazuo from BR. Sneaky, sly; attractive and tactical when it comes to war. Foxface, Glimmer, and Clove from THG and Mitsuko from BR. Seriously. Combining those three villainous females from THG and you have yourself Mitsuko. And other things too - - Like how the kids are controlled on where they're going and such. Really, I couldn't read the Hunger Games without thinking it was a fluffed up version of BR.

    Homophobia. . . I really can't stand it, to be honest. I mean, that should go without saying - - But I just can't. I have to put up with two annoying homophobes on a daily basis; Why? Because they're my friends. Or rather, they consider me to be as that. I cannot stand them. All they do is run their mouths about gays and how weird it is. Their deal is mainly lesbians and bi girls, though - - I guess that they're just the sort of girls who think that just because somebody is into other chicas, that they'll automatically be attracted to them. Of course, they run their mout about everything else that they view as a negativity too; all they do is talk about people. And here's the thing - - I love to hear people throw around smack talk and gossip. What I can't stand is when it's about things said person cannot control [ like their appearance, sexuality, and the liking ] or when it's about personal, perfectly respectable choices that they are entitled to [ religion and political views, ect ]. If somebody is running around and popping pills, sleeping around, or getting high all the time . . . Well, to be honest? Those people deserve to be talked about, made fun of, whatever. That behaivor is laughable and I'm perfectly fine with laughing at it. That's just the kind of person I am - - I am fine with teasing and crap to the extent of making fun of somebody's negative personality traits. This may come from me being a die-hard Kathy Griffin fan and picking up her sense of humor as a result - - I always used to tell people, "Oh, I never make fun of anyone." Then like - - I realized, yes I do. So this may just be me making excuses for myself, and perhaps how I make fun of people is not justified. But anyway, switching the attention off of me and my mean spirited sense of humor [ while debating on whether or not to delete that whole bit . . . kind of pointless and didn't do much favor to myself. x3 ], back to homophobia.

    I myself am a lesbian, and I honestly still have trouble admitting it. I can't stand the L word, and it's just so . . . eh. Not me. I mean, I tried on so many different labels. 'Pansexual', 'bisexual', and other more complicated crap like, 'homosexual biromantic', 'homosexual panromantic' so eh. But I'm not any of them, I'm gay. I think I prefer to just say 'gay' anyway. It seems like a bit of a kinder term, I suppose, lesbian has a lot of stigma attatched to it. - cough - I came out about a year ago as a lesbian, but then I started dating guys again so I'm sure people thought I was just bisexual or playing gay. But, I've never claimed to be straight since then. I mean, I've toyed with different labels I guess; But I never really went back inside the closet. And if anyone else asks now, I say I'm a lesbian. If a guy asks me out, I decline; and I don't fall into that nagging feeling of wanting to act 'normal' I just, more recently, have really embraced it. That's not to say that everyone knows, though, despite being OUT [ in my mind ] some people have not caught on. If people ask, I'll never deny it. But I don't just come right out [ punny, no? ] and say it. I guess I am somewhat afraid of a backlash. Bisexuality is becoming a trend, and I'm not really upset by this - - But more or less, hopeful. Perhaps this toying with sexuality will in fact open up some people's minds. You can hope anyway, I suppose.

    Needless to say I've never really experienced homophobia first-hand. I mean, I hear comments; but none are actually directed towards me. The closest thing I've experienced to homophobia is people saying stuff like, "You don't LOOK like a lesbian." Or "Soo, you can't get a boyfriend?" But I didn't get anything like that too much, and I'm sure the people who said that were just trying to get a better understanding of everything and was just being sloppy with their words, ya'know? I mean. . . Eh. However, despite me not experiencing it a lot of my friends have ( most of my friends fall somewhere in the LGBTQ community, like, a good 80% . . . Then like 18% are allies. And like. The rest are actually, I suppose, tolerant homophobes - Easiest way to desribe, really. ) and I'm going to be straight [ puns, moar. ] here. Honestly? Gay/bisexual boys [i]have in my own observations been more prone to harrassment because of their sexuality. And I feel really bad for that. Not to say that Les/bigirls get it easy, it's just, on average I've seen guys get the worst of it all. Homophobia isn't that bad at my school, luckily, the staff really push the homophobia is bad message. We have signs and stuff. Of course, people don't always read them.

    -cough-

    But, um. If anyone has any problems with homophobia, or bullying of any kind, ya'll could message me. (: I'd be happy to talk and stuff. I've been bullied [ non-related to my sexuality ] and it hurts, so . . . If anyone ever, um, wants to talk stuff out. Or vent, whatever. x3 I'm right here ^^; ( this just seemed like a decent enough place to put it, and I was thinking it, so I thought I'd throw it out there . . . )

    Jezebel looked at the group of cats - -Or rather, cubs seemed most accurate at the time. With a shake of her head she found herself doing a brief head count as she tried to determine if all five of hers were there.

    "It was quite noble of Eternalrapture to think this up," Fishyfur agreed as the tom pulled himself to Sketchfeather's side, swiping his lips with his pinkish tongue thoughtfully - It was noble. Protecting the future of the clan and whatnot. Though Fishyfur himself had only been infatuated with the group because of their leader; whom he had previously known as 'Bunnytail' through much listening, however, it had become apparent that she had fibbed. But why? The name, that name DID ring a bell. If only a small one.

    So many mysteries surrounded their divine leader. Mysteries that begged to be uncovered.

    I found this, somehow, after listening to Kanye West covers - - I thought it was great, and well, beautiful. I thought I would share it with some people, didn't really know who, but I thought of you guys. So here you go; Just, know that it is true. <3

    Battle Royale
    "The Program."
    Young, barely alive - - If we want to survive, we have to fight.

    Plot - -

    After dictatorship ruined what had formally been known as Japan, creating the Republic of Greater East Asia instead, a program was started for numerous reasons - Population control, the entertainment of others, but mainly to let the people know that yes. . . They were in charge. This program consisted of taking a class of ninth graders numerous times throughout the year and forcing them to kill each other. It was sick, it was deranged, but there was nothing that could go on to stop it. Now, due to an alliance between the two countries, the United States of America will now be adopting this program. The first one is about to start - - Your class has been chosen. Congratulations, you will be the first of many. The one that started it all.

    Back-story - -

    A very small and not very sought-after private school in Chicago, Illinois by the name of Bridged Junior High School - is where you're from - - Most of the kids who go there are average, most of them don't want to be there. Parents probably enrolled them so they could get a better education, smaller classes, teachers able to pay more attention to you. It's a small enough school, not very many people know of it, so everyone who goes there just pretty much knows everyone else. It's very small, with a number of only forty two kids in the ninth grade. Twenty one boys, twenty one girls; as for the other grades, well, their numbers float around the same. But they're not important. This is not their game. Bridges Junior High was chosen during a lottery after looking at other private schools with smaller classes, all across the country - - Yours just happened to be the one picked. Tough luck.

    Now - -

    You were told you were going to be going on a trip with the rest of your class - An overnight field trip in New York City. A study trip, sure, but you were planning on having fun. After boarding the bus, however, you started to feel drowsy. . . And apparently the others started to as well, for they were dropping like flies. After a few minutes of fluttering eyes and yawning, everyone was asleep. About seven hours later, you awaken in a classroom - - You are told you are on an island, a small one that had one inhabited about a hundred people but had been evacuated just for your class. Then you are explained how you are supposed to kill each other. Only one survivor can remain, and that survivor can go on and live a happy enough life. You are given a backpack with a unique weapon, a box of crackers, two apples, and one bottle of water. Then you are sent on your way in a vicious game that nobody ever wanted to play.

    Rules - -

    { IC }

    [ These are not exactly rules, but more explaining of how things will work. ]

    x - You are given three weeks to kill each other off.

    x - You are given a backpack that includes - A box of crackers, two apples, and one bottle of water. Though, you are also allowed to carry your personal items and you may obtain other items throughout the course of the game.

    x - A firewall has been placed - - No cellphones or internet may be used by the players in this game.

    x - Your collars have a tracking device installed on them - - if you try to swim away, they will be able to see. And it will explode.

    x - Every morning a PA system will announce who has died.

    { OOC Rules }

    x - No god-moding. You must aim your attacks, not assume that it hits. A two way street here, you can't dodge everything either. Just no.

    x - Play realistically, know that your character is not unbeatable. Expect your character die - - In the end, there will be only one remaining. Your character cannot outrun a bullet. Your character cannot go up against somebody with an axe with only their fists. Your character will die, and with putting your characters into this rper, you must be willing to kill them.

    x - Be active. If you go for a week without posting with your character, they will be considered a free-kill. I will give pm-warnings after three days without posting. This is really important, thank you ~

    x - Also, note that these characters know each other. They know their names and such. They are not complete strangers, got it? I don't want to see stuff like - - "OH HAI! I'm Patrick, what's your name?" They know each other. They've been at the same school with each other [ and it's a SMALL school. There is no reason for them not to know each other ] for awhile. They don't all have to be best friends or anything of the sort, they don't have to know things about each other - - and in fact, do not assume your character is friends with another unless you have it planned with that rper - - but they know who everyone is.

    x - Err, be advanced, 'kay thanks. I don't care much for word count, but try to do at least fifty words with each post to give us something to read. Use fun descriptive words and correct capitalization. Good grammar, unless you're playing a character that is supposed to have bad grammar.

    x - On a similar note, despite you all being advanced and good at details and such . . . Uh. The violence. Don't get to descriptive. I don't want to read three paragraphs describing you you're getting stabbed in critical origins. ._. You can say what's happening, but when it comes to violence . . . Just, please keep it straight to the point. You can describe what your character feels and what he's thinking, but not what is happening physically - - If you wouldn't see it in the main game, don't write it here. Use discretion.

    x - Romance. I . . . I don't know. This doesn't really seem like the best place for a romance rp. They're being forced to kill each other. I don't mind if two people team up and end up having feelings for each other. That's . . . Fine. But keep it realistic. I don't want girls randomly going up to guys and trying to make out with them. That's . . . No. Romance is okay, if it has a point to it and was developed. If things start to get, um, intense . . . Er, fade out just like you do in the game.

    x - When it comes to cursing, I don't mind more minor words. But when it gets into serious, hard core, swearing [ you know what I mean ] . . . Don't do it. If you want it to be made clear that said character is cursing, drop something like, "He then let out a series of swears, words that would probably make his mother's ears bleed." Okay? Okay. = D

    x - I will tell you what your character's unique weapon is after you sign up.

    x - In game time and real time will be about the same - - A day is a day, a week is a week, ect. Minutes and hours will, by default, pass by a bit awkwardly due to this but it should be okay.

    x - You may have up to five characters each.

    x - No NPC killing. There are no NPCs unless I announce that there are - - [ after about a week of no sign ups I will probably announce that all but the current alive characters have died ]

    { Character List }

    Girl 1

    Eden Amelia Barrio.
    Status - Alive, uninjured.
    Assigned weapon - A pocket knife.
    Kills - Randy.
    { Roleplayed by Gorgeous }

    Fifteen. A standoffish kind of girl, one who has no real friends - Just, well, people who tolerate her. She's usually off to the side, never really with a group, and always quiet. There is something noticeably off about her, for one - She never seems to smile, always baring a hard, cold, exterior. As if she were mad at the world, just waiting to take it out on somebody. Perhaps this is why nobody speaks to her, because she seems angry and always upset. She is rather sensitive though and feels just as everybody else does - Thrown into a depression so deep, though, that she rarely shows how she truly is, having had given up a long time ago on trying to put forth an effort on making people like her. Now that she's been thrown into a competition for a life she never fully enjoyed, she has decided to try - - For she has not had a chance to live yet, and wants a chance to do so desperately. While she may had given up on life itself, she still always made an effort to look nice - She is rather naturally pretty looking, in a bit of an old-timey classical kind of way. Having nice, soft but pleasant enough features. Her eyebrows are finely shaped and her face in more or less, an oval shape, bearing high cheek bones. Her hair is a dark brown that flows just below her shoulders and her lips are a soft shade of pink. Her eyes are a brilliant shade of emerald. She's rather tall, standing about 5'6'' and is rather thin - too thin, some may say, but not immensely underweight - and therefore lacks curves. Her wardrobe consists mainly of skinny jeans and torso hugging sweaters - - Her face is bare of make up, apart from powder and mascara. She could be definitely be considered to be pretty, perhaps even exceptionally so.

    Boy 1

    Harrison Radely.
    Status - Alive, uninjured.
    Assigned weapon - A wooden baseball bat.
    Kills - None.
    {Roleplayed by Gorgeous}

    Fourteen. Harrison is a rather good guy, the kind that is a bit shy - - But nonetheless, kind, and when you talk to him it is revealed he is quite interesting. Normally though, this boy just likes to sit back with a good book and read. He doesn't put himself in the lime light, that's just not who he is. He enjoys being by himself and does not mind that he has so few friends. He is a loner - - And that is how he wants to stay. In the playing field, he won't be the kind of boy to go off on a killing spree and seriously play to win, but he'll do what he's been doing his whole life - stay out of the limelight, stay by himself, and just hide; if somebody attacks him, he will defend, but he will not harm without cause. He is a small boy - - Not incredibly tiny or anything, but he's still small. Probably looking around twelve, he is small framed and short; standing at about, oh, 5'2''? He has a round childlike face, fresh with innocence. His eyes are chocolate brown, contrasting against his shaggy blonde hair. He wears glasses, round, and rather thick-framed; he looks like a bit of a nerd, but simply put, that is because he is.

    Girl 2

    Talia-Jayne Gray (T.J.)
    Status - Alive, uninjured
    Assigned weapon - A hatchet.
    Kills - None
    { Roleplayed by Ace of Spades }

    Fifteen. T.J is bi-polar so it really depends on what is going on. She is more emo than anything though and she spends all her time with animals, or engulfed in taking pictures of nature.
    T.J is a very beautiful fifteen year old girl. She stands at a height of 5'6 and is very agile and sporty looking. Her hair is that of a light dusted cinnamon color with a mixture of brow sugar. Her eyes are that of a soft iris flower with a slight shade of emerald green.

    Boy 2

    Jacob Cole Smith
    Status - Alive, uninjured
    Assigned weapon - An axe.
    Kills - One.
    { Roleplayed by Kat }

    Fifteen years old. He is quiet, and is often angered easily, and rather sarcastic. He has pale skin and dark black hair and has green cat-like eyes.

    Girl 3

    Roxxan (Rox or Roxxy) Samantha Jones
    Status - Alive, uninjured
    Assigned weapon - Colt .45
    Kills - None.
    { Roleplayed by Kat }

    Fourteen. Outgoing, strong, smart, and always looks on the bright side. She's quite tall with red hair that goes to her back. She has a beautiful smile, and shows it off all day. Her face is covered with light freckles, and she has a scar on her left cheek.

    Boy 3
    Andrew Wyatt Jacobs
    Status - Alive, uninjured
    Assigned weapon - A set of throwing knives.
    Kills - None.
    { Roleplayed by Ace of Spades}

    Fifteen. Andrew is one of those funny and humorous guys who likes to have fun but is very serious and composed. He hides his emotions behind jokes and he loves to make friends. He is one of those sweet skater boy types and can be sensitive but not girly if you know what I mean. Andrew is over-protective of his friends and would sacrifice himself for any one of them. He is that loyal. P.S. he has always had a thing for Eden Amelia Barrio. Jacob is abut average height for a boy of fifteen. 5'8-5'9? Give or take. He is rather cute in his own skater boy way and has long dusty brown colored hair that always stays to his left side. He always wears some kind of beanie and skinny jeans with a t-shirt of some sort. Vanns...he is always wearing a pair of black vanns with skulls on them that are an off white. His eyes are a bright sunny sky blue with a hint of neon green, yellow, and brown rolled into one.

    Girl 4
    Tenshi Hamilton
    Status - Alive, uninjured
    Assigned weapon - Ice pick.
    Kills - None.
    { Roleplayed by Demi Lovato }

    Fifteen. Tenshi may be a girl, but she is in no sense of the word 'girly girl'. She is sarcastic, and tomboylike. Highly alert, she is almost already to fight and doesn't take lightly to compliments. She's very silent, but will throw in her two cents rather its needed or not. Sparring is one of her favorite things to do, as she can appear to be a very violent and intimidating person, but that is simply who she is. Headstrong, Tenshi relies on her sense of right and wrong and instincts for every choice she makes. She's not one to be taken lightly, either. Tenshi can't stand being made a fool out of, and even though she comes off as a relatively dark character she can be a remarkable friend. Her outer edges can be hard to get past, but underneath it all Tenshi is a true, reliable friend and will do anything to help others, even if it isn't the most polite of ways. Tenshi is actually quite short, and petite. She's about 5'2", though people make her seem shorter in comparison. She has a relatively lean, but petite figure. She has long blonde hair, though its usually pulled back somehow and away from her face. Tenshi normally wears thin, and loose-fitting clothing seeing as she is hot-natured by default. It is rare you'd find her hair down and her suited up, unless of course it was for a special occasion. Tenshi's eyes are an electrical, bright lime green. Others would probably say that because of the bright intensity of the green, you would be entranced and lost within them, but its a great defense to keep others away from recognizing her thoughts or feelings. She has a fair complexion, and is often found wearing dark red in some way. A scar runs around her entire wrist, and just by the touch you can feel a slight indention in her flesh from when she almost had it detached. The scar is covered up by a bandage normally covering her entire hand in the form of a fingerless glove, however. Normally you find her wearing a bandage on her left hand, and a fingerless fishnet glove on her right, a dark red collared blouse with quarter-sleeves folded back, and a dark grey tank top underneath. Around her neck hangs her mothers necklace, an insignia of her family's crest dangling from a black silk ribbon. She wears black denim shorts, with a studded belt, her satchel of exploding powder tied around a belt loop. Her sais are carried in holsters, and with retracting claws, she almost always wears her brass knuckles with the claws retracted inside. A button underneath her pinky releases the claws, and she is ready for combat instantly. Tenshi wears black and white converse ( with dark red laces ) that has dark red scribbled markings on the bottom of her shoes, normally scribbles of random dates to remind her of events in her past.

    Boy 4
    Randy Sunderland
    Status - Dead.
    Killed by - Eden.
    Assigned weapon - Safety scissors.
    Kills - None.
    { Roleplayed by Gorgeous}

    Fifteen. Randy is a guy who is . . . Very much on his high horse. Stuck up, one could easily refer to him as, and rather rude to those her doesn't view as being on his 'level' he is very picky about his friends and will only converse with those who have the right look and attitude to them. He's a sports lover, an avid player of football and lacrosse. Needless to say, he's pretty much your stereotypical popular guy - - except, he's not popular. So selective about those he talks to, he only has a few, whom he doesn't really like anyway. Randy is a good looking guy, sure, a large size and a good bit of muscle on him - - he's alright, he's alright. But he isn't the catch he seems to think he is, and in all reality, is only a slight bit above average at best. He has brown hair and striking blue eyes - - but other than that, he falls blank. If people were to try to describe him to somebody who doesn't know his name, they would use his personality, not his appearance. He is about average height and when it comes to his features he's just a normal face. His eyes are rather beautiful though and act as a window into his mind for many, easily giving away his emotion.
