"Rainflower. How do you do?" She asked sarcastically. She couldn't believe that this cat would just come out of the forest, see a she-cat in obvious distress, then go ask her about her name. "Sorry if I can't spare time to go through proper salutations and ceremonials, but I'm a little occupied," she said gesturing at her broken ribs, shattered paw, and gushing leg.

It bled heavier with every heartbeat.

Groaning in pain, Rainflower attempted to lick it, but she could only shift a centimeter before she felt the shattered ribs crunch in a most exquisitely painful way.

"Please, whoever you are, help me! I'm a loyal warrior of RiverClan, as you can smell by my scent." she paused, a small gasp escaping from her mouth. "I got into a scrape with a badger, and I'm in a lot of pain."
The she-cat's silvery fur was matted with blood, and a formidable pool was seeping between her claws, into her eyes, dripping from her whiskers.

She hoped the newcomer wasn't afraid of a bit of blood.

"Wait! Where are you going!?" Rainflower's voice thinned into a wail as she watched the last silver ray of salvation dash into the forest. She slumped back down and cried for the first time. She had never cried before, not when her mate left her, not when her litter had died, not when her littermate turned traitor and even sacrificed himself into the river. But now, facing death truly for the first time, she cried tears.

The poor apprentice seemed shocked by the situation. Rainflower's cursed his mouse-heartedness and clawed at the ground. Exhausted by the whole ordeal, Rainflower closed her eyes, sleeping a fitful sleep. Darkness pummeled her conscience, and she felt whispers of long-lost loved ones scarring her mind. Most of all, she felt the tender mewling of Leafkit, her kit that had been taken away from her by twolegs.

"I'm sorry for the things I've done..." She whispered subconsciously. She didn't hear the footsteps of the apprentice. She didn't hear the rustling trees and warbling river that she so loved. She didn't hear the lumbering footsteps of a badger coming to finish her off either.

Oceantail smiled at the familiar gesture. He flicked his tail across her flank and rolled over belly to the sun. His curious sea green eyes blinked at the sky, feeling a perfect vastness in it all. Suddenly, the irritating voice came again. Hunting?! We just went! He repeated his thoughts out loud to the newcomer, hackles raising slightly. Looking back at Flickerfeather, he blinked in a silent question. Whose side would she take?

Cool, Sparrowclaw is a tom, with a light tortoiseshell coat, white patches on face, belly and hind feet, and dark azure eyes. His former mate Leafsong had died, but that was several seasons ago. He is about 24 moons, not a senior warrior, but not a newly made warrior.

Sparrowclaw blinked, taken aback by surprise. Yet, he knew that this conversation was inevitable. Sighing, he sat down. With a wave of his tail, he beckoned for Echolight to come and sit.

"Her name was Leafsong...she and I were born about a half-moon apart. We were very close. She was probably the most beautiful cat in the camp. She was happy, funny, and kind. She loved squirrel. She had a cinnamon coat and blue eyes...." the facts were flowing faster now, like a torrential river of memory. "She hated sand between her paws. She liked adventure. When we were kits, we went to an old fox den." Pausing, he reminisced. The reek of fox seemed to come back. Leafsong at his side, they were both shaking against each other. He continued. "It was abandoned, but we got into trouble because my littermate told my mother."

"Eventually, we became mates. What a contrast! I was always serious and ambitious, but she brought out the light in me..." he gestured, and grimaced, for the unbearable truth was about to slip out. Blinking, he continued. "My father was HawkClan, and my mother was ThunderClan. When she grew pregnant, he left her. After my warrior ceremony, he came back to claim me and my littermates. We resisted, but he blackmailed us into coming with him. The blackmail was Leafsong's death..." he swallowed and looked away.

"He killed her anyway, even after I came along. We fought...and I won." he bowed his head.

"I am my father's murderer." looking at Echolight again, he stared with a hollow intensity. "I'm guilty." his confession grew dry in his mouth, and the pile of prey next to him seemed distant. "I am not full ThunderClan blood. Just a HalfClan bastard who got revenge."

"Forgive me," he meowed, voice rusty and grating. He seemed deflated again, and he considered making a run for it, right then and there. He banished all thoughts of a future with Echolight now that the ugly truth had come out. He knew now that he had started falling in love with her. Who wouldn't? Her pearly green eyes and beautiful features would make any tom look twice, and her hunting prowess was beyond amazing.

I owe it to Leafsong. She gave her life because of me.... Meekly, he pictured fear, disgust, and horror reflected in Echolight's eyes. Accepting fate, he started walking back to the camp, tail dragging and sifting on the dappled forest floor.

"Domt just stand there mouse brains! Run!" Sunpaw pushed both of them out of the den and ran to the far side of the camp. Fur standing on edge, she realized the fire was starting to creep toward the nursery. She dashed toward the medicine den. "Grab as much wet moss as you can." Bundling the uncomfortable wetness in her jaws, she started wringing water into the fire and smothering it with the drenched moss. Kicking dirt on the fire also seemed to help.

Oceantail blinked. Well, whatever. He had started this with Flickerfeather, so he was going wherever she was. "..." Wordlessly, he stood. Walking side by side, they entered the forest. "Squirrel."

Crouching into a hunting pose, he stalked forward slowly, a master hunter. Weight was perfectly balanced on each paw and he leaped, a silver bolt in the dark shadows. The squirrel was gone before it had the chance to react.

Sunflight paused, then seductively purred. "Might as well, it was going to happen anyways." she sidled up to Bloodbath and rubbed her head under his chin, tail wrapping around his neck, and touching his belly. She winked at Juniperspots. Whispering in his ear, she said. "My first time...."

Blinking in the pain of a wrenched paw, Rainflower faithfully followed RiverClan as they filed into ThunderClan. Gasping, she leaned on the apprentice that was padding alongside her. "My-my kits..." Rainflower mumbled. She felt them, kicking and swirling in her belly. She was cold and wet, her whole life washed away by brutal waves. Labor was a cherry on top of the horrid mess.

Feather leaned against the tree gazing wistfully at a butterfly. She followed it, slim, pretty body glowing a healthy lilac-silver. She was a Kittypet, and very, very spoiled. Pretty....wandering farther than she meant, Feather found herself on the other side of a huge tree. Funny, smells gross. Her mother's warnings of terrifying cats who ate bones and drank blood suddenly coursed through her mind. This was definitely a scent-mark. About to flee, Feather heard what she wanted the least. A voice, an unfamiliar one, spoke. Paralyzed, Feather turned around.

"Oh, hi there!" Feather turned around, no longer afraid. He was kind and spoke in a soothing voice. "Yeah...I appear to be very, very lost." she turned in a tipsy circle, oblivious to the fact that he was obviously Clanborn. "You see, I had heard about all of these roguish cats who lived in the area. They drink blood and eat bones! They also cast their kits into the river when they misbehave, and they are as big as lions when they get mad!" she blinked at him gratefully. "Thank goodness you're here. I thought you might have been one of them."

Ooc: I'm a Doctor fan too!!!!,

Heh. Getting cocky there. Oceantail nimbly clawed up the bark, the tree feeling solid underneath his paws. Leaping to the first branch, he quickly caught unto her in the highest branch. "Wow." the tree offered a wonderful view of the territory. The panorama was scenic, almost full moon shining on the forest, trees tipped in silver and an icy wind flying fast, whipping grass and rustling branches. The starry sky spread out above them, and if Oceantail just turned his head slightly, he could see WindClan territory as well as ThunderClan. "Wonderful." he faced Flickerfeather. "Flickerfeather..." he started. Her beautiful green eyes were prettier than the scene before them, and the words caught slightly in his throat.

Finally, after what seemed like days of hard work, Sunpaw and Skypaw put out the fire, and the rain took care of the rest. The roiling clouds soon dissipated, and nothing was left except the blackened rubble of the apprentice den's roof, and an acrid smell. "Great StarClan." murmured Sunpaw, golden pelt smudged with soot. She sniffed, and rubbed her nose. The tender skin was itchy, and she blinked to get ash out of her eyes. "Thank you, Skypaw." she blinked gratefully. "I probably couldn't have done it alone."

As Oceantail scrambled down the tree, a joyous feeling spread through his pelt, his blood, his bones. Flickerfeather....Almost delirious, he scented the air. She went this way....bounding towards a s,all clearing, he noted Hawkclaw talking to Flickerfeather.

The first thing he saw was Hawkclaw and Flickerfeather standing very, very close. Eyes widening in shock, the happy feeling was smothered for an instant. Then, he heard "...I may be your brother..."

Oceantail's fur along his spine stood straight up in surprise. Gently licking it down again, he casually padded into the clearing. "What going on?" he asked, acting feigning nonchalance. He saw in Hawkclaw Flickerfeather's green eyes, the same lithe athletic build, and the same defined hind legs. In shock, he wondered why didn't I see this before?
