Thunder flashed against the sky, a flash of light illuminating the darkness. Under the shelter of a tree, a she-cat was about to give birth.
"Stay strong, Silverleaf...," the she-cat told herself, struggling with pain. It took a while, but the Silverleaf finally gave birth to two tiny balls of fur. It had started to rain, and the old tree started to leak, water dripping on Silverleaf's head.
Suddenly, a tom poked his head into the tree trunk. "Are you okay, Silverleaf?" the gray tom meowed, his blue eyes flashing with worry.
"I'm fine, jeez, Graytail," the grey tabby she-cat responded. (Here you get to know what Cindertail's parents look like) "Now lets name the kits.
"The grey tabby one looks just like you," she purred, licking the kit's head. "Let's name him Ashkit, after the color of his fur." She turned to the other kit.
The she-kit's eyes were shut, but twisted into some sort of strong emotion. Pride? Anger? Jealousness? Silverleaf thought. She remembered a long time ago, there was a cat that looked just like this kit. She was a ThunderClan medicine cat. Her name was Cinderpelt. Silverleaf had heard many many tales about Cinderpelt, and how she risked her life to help another cat during a badger attack. Silverleaf smiled gently.
"Let's name this one Cinderkit."

Cinderkit slept soundly in her nest. She could feel her mother's warm fur against her as she slept too. She felt Ashkit prodding her side, as if he was having a bad dream. She slowly opened her eyes, and gasped.
The nursery was huge!
Moss nests were scattered here and there, smelling of milk. There was another queen in the nursery, a brown tabby, sleeping in her nest with three other kits, about 3 moons old, sleeping next to her. Cinderkit blinked open here eyes and adjusted to the light. Soft light shone through the nursery walls and ceiling, bathing everycat in a soft light. She prodded Ashkit. "Wake up, sleepyhead!" She said. "Get up!!!"
It was her first time that she knew of in the nursery, and she wanted Ashkit to look around as well. She saw Ashkit slowly rise and open his eyes. They were an ice-blue. What color eyes do I have? Cinderkit thought.
Suddenly she felt Silverleaf move as she woke up. She purred. "Good morning, you two." She said gently, quiet not to wake up the other queen in the nursery. I might make a Clan list, but I can't make a huge list of cat names!
Cinderkit smiled. "I'm hungry!" She mewled.
Silverleaf stretched. "I suppose you can have some milk right now."
"But I want fresh-kill!"
"You're too young for that, Cinderkit. When you get older I promise you can eat fresh-kill."
"Ugh, fine!" Cinderkit said, then moved close to her mother's belly.
Ch. 1 is finished! Why does it feel so short? Anyways, I am trying to post every few days, but when school starts I will have too see, with my sports and homework load. But thanks for being patient guys!

Cinderkit opened her eyes, woken from a loud noise. She sighed. Autumnmist had just kitted 2 moons ago, and Lilykit, Petalkit and Rosekit were about as noisy as a rushing waterfall, always talking nonstop. She stretched and padded outside. At least her and Ashkit’s apprenticeship was coming soon. Everyone seemed to be busy. Warriors coming back from hunting, apprentices dashing out of their dens, and elders sitting under a bush, gossiping. She grabbed two mice from the fresh-kill pile and walked over to the elders.
“Hi, Cherryflower, Onewhisker, and Mudtail,” Cinderkit smiled warmly and dropped the mice down in front of them.
“Hello, dear,” Onewhisker murmured, and bent down to eat some of the mouse, as Cherryflower nudged Mudtail awake. “Would you like to hear a story today, Cinderkit?” Onewhisker asked.
“Yes, please!” Cinderkit said.
“Alright, this one is about the RiverClan leader many, many seasons ago. Her name was Mistystar. She was a great leader, after Leopardstar died. Her pelt was a very blue. In fact, her mother was legendary ThunderClan leader, Bluestar.
“Yes, her mother was from ThunderClan, Cinderkit. Her father was from our clan, his name being Oakheart. Cats say that they had a forbidden love, but Bluestar had to give her kits up to become deputy. Yes, she had that ambition in her eyes. But it was a good ambition, not a greedy kind. For there was another cat thinking of becoming deputy.
“His name was Thistleclaw. He had spiky fur, and cats say he was evil. Greedy. Mean. He even mentored Tigerstar.”
At the mention of Tigerstar, Cinderkit shuddered. She had heard many legends about the ferocious brown tabby cat that once belonged to ThunderClan. Ambitious, killing, evil. Just like Thistleclaw. Cinderkit was deep in thought and did not realize that Onewhisker had finished talking.
“Eeh, that’s all I have for today, Cinderkit.” Onewhisker said. “Come back tomorrow!”
Cinderkit waved good-bye with her tail and started heading back to the nursery. Suddenly she heard a sound, someone calling out. It was her mother.
