Brightpelt suddenly rolled out of the tangled brush beside them, her originally pure white coat now scratched and muddy. She stared at them for a second then screamed: "There's a badger!" and sprinted off in the other direction.
-
There was a muffled crash deep within the tangled shrubs and the cats tensed, leaning forward slightly to try to glimpse the threat. The leaves trembled slightly as the badger crashed through the low-lying scrub. There was no sign of Brightpelt. The tension was tight enough to cut with a knife. Brightpelt watched silently. Then, with a roar, an enormous badger threw itself through the last bundle of bracken. Brightpelt, watching through the bracken on the other side of the clearing, recoiled slightly: it was the largest badger ever! It was the size of several full grown cats! She had not realised the size of it when it attacked her! There was a moment of silence, as though neither side knew what to do... THen the badger roared and charged.
-
Brightpelt, ashamed about how she'd behaved, staggered back into the clearing. Her shoulder itched where the badger had previously scratched her, and recoiled at how large the badger was. In the narrow confines of the forest, she had not realised at the sheer size of the beast. She rolled her aching joint and leapt into the fight, clawing repeatedly at the badger's back. It roared with rage and with a flick of it's gigantic paw, threw her back into a tree. She hit the trunk at a tremendous speed, slid to the floor and crumpled. She did not get back up.
-
Brightpelt opened her blurry eyes and took a great shuddering breath, her chest racked with pain. She saw the blurry face of Obsidianknife. She gasped with pain, and he turned his handsome head towards her. If cats could blush, she would have. "Thank you..." she wheezed, each word an effort. She tried to turn her head to look at the fight, but was unable to move. "Is it still.....?"she gasped. Shocked by his silent, grim expression she twisted her body, and realised how much of a mess the battle was. "Go....help them...." she wheezed to Obsidianknife, then lost conciousness once more.
-
Finally, overwhelmed by the wave of furious warrior cats, the badger gave a roar and fell to the ground, scrabbling at it's wounds desparately, as though he could somehow hold the blood back into his own body. He gave one last whimper, and became still. The evident question to the surrounding cats was: what to do with the carcass now?

Brightpelt woke in the healer's den, her eyes blurry. "Wha- what happened? I don't remember anything from the night before?"
-
"I have an idea, but i can't carry it out by myself. Many of you will be against it but... it may be the only chance we have..." Brightpelt sighed. "We have to form an alliance with the badgers. They may help. The only problem is, Ican't speak badger."
-
Brightpelt saw the doubt in her fellow warriors' eyes. "Yes, I know its crazy but it may be our only chance...." she trailed off uncertainly. "I know many of you will be against this, and so it is only a suggestion. I can't force you to help. After all, it would take supreme courage to crawl into a badger den and tell them... but this is their forest too, and there is a danger that the whole forest will burn. I just don't know what else to do."

Uhhhhh... bump? BTW this convo is super duper random. How about something more productive, like... cats, maybe?

Neonflash interrupted with a yowl. "No! It's way too dangerous. No cat should put their life on the line for your stupid ideas that probably won't work anyway! This is absolutely ridiculous, and none of us should stand here and listen to this rubbish. Our only chance is to evacuate and hope for rain. We are losing time. Leave now and take your silly ideas with you!"
"Neonflash," Brightpelt replied calmly, "I would thank you to keep your poisonous thoughts to yourself. It is not for you to decide the actions of this clan, or are you challenging Burningnight's authority?"
Neonflash's green face reddened, and she shrank back to the ground. "Sorry," she mumbled. "I didn't think."
"No. You didn't." replied Brightpelt harshly. -
la francias? All I know is that I'm French. My mum grew up in Alsace, which is kinda like a county, in between the French and German border, then she moved to England, so now she is fluent in German, French, and English. Anyway, Paris only introduced me to this a few weeks ago at school, and I want Brightpelt to apply for medicine cat but I don't know what she meant by rp sample. Someone help, please?

"Oh!" exclaimed Brightpelt, since the answer had come to her in a flash of brilliance. "We have to smoke it out!"
"WHAT!" screeched Neonflash. "Stop being ridiculous!"
"We dump tons and tons of dry leaves on the fire. They burn so quickly and make so much smoke, that the air won't be able to get to the fire and it will kill itself."
Even Neonflash agreed grudgingly that it was a good idea. Brightpelt looked to her leader for permission. She had seen it work before, and she was sure it would work now. -
Neonflash grudgingly swept the surrounding leaves and moss away from the camp, working hard until there was a clear gap, perhaps 3 cat lengths in size. Then she helped gather a large pile of leaves to throw over the fire all at once. Brightpelt had warned her that if they put the leaves on in small amounts, then nothing would happen: in fact, it would only make it worse. They had to put it on in one big pile to successfully quench the fire. Finally, the leaf pile was big enough and Brightpelt found shovel shaped bark to shovel it all into the fire at once. They looked to Burningnight for the signal.

Brightpelt saw the doubt in Silentwhisper's eyes. "Please. All I'm asking for is a chance. Please. Trust me."
