Solluxre's lamentations were entirely correct: the angel dodged sideways, the whip lashing the air beside him. The angel then extended his wings and dashed forward, hands glowing with radiant light as he clapped them together, generating a bright blinding pulse of light. Taking advantage of the momentary distraction, the angel vanished, appearing behind Solluxre, swinging a hand in a classic karate chop, aiming to incapicitate the poison dragon child with a chop to the neck.

Crowley, meanwhile, spat hatefully. "Save me your sophism! Humans might do it, but it's in their nature, and the ones who do always face justice. The worst of the worst always get their due, but you idiots think your above justice, don't you? You can shout all you want, but in the end I'll be the one staring you down in a court of law!" It was evident he wasn't holding back as he held out his sword, a loud boom issuing from it. A split second later a bolt of molten steel launched out from the tip and slid towards Ariel with terrifying speed. The angel targeting Ariel dodged to the right, the air rippling beside it as the shear sliced by, doing no damage. Ariel was then promptly rewarded with seeing a brilliant light soar towards her as a beam oc concentrated light shot through the air towards her.

The other angel was not so lucky, as it was clearly not prepared for Tempest to not only catch the beam of holy light, but to turn it against it. The lance struck teh angel with a brilliant golden light, sparks of holy lightning radiating outwards as the angel fell down, vaporizing in a burst of light. A second later a boulder sailed through the air towards Tempest, while behind it followed Wiemar, who catapulted himself forward, aiming to drive his spear through Tempest the moment the boulder made impact with it's target.

No going back. Fujiwara thought, her eyes sliding towards Goji's, whose eyes simultaneously met hers the moment they both heard the distinctive whir of objects sailing through the air. Simultaneously both launched their atacks: Fujiwara twisted acrobatically and lashed out with her legs, aiming to double kick her target in case the shuriken missed. Meanwhile, Goji slammed his head backwards, attempting to butt the man behind him while simultaneously he untensed his muscles, the resulting slack in the now loosened ropes allowing him to slide out of them easily, He then promptly stepped forward and ran forward towards Sayomi, aiming to quickly intercept any potential retaliation the guards might unleash upon him as a direct response to their aggressive actions.

partly since that chop is actually impossible,

OC: Wahahah that's the best way I've ever seen someone subvert an attack. However, it's not impossible. (this particular move is known as a brachial stun, by the way) It's not likely to KO a person permanently, but a strike to the neck can do a many amount of things, especially if it hits the vagus nerve or the carotid artery, both of which can cause disorientation, dizziness, and/or, (especially if you hit the carotid artery, which causes blood flow to be halted to the brain momentarily) even a brief lapse of consciousness. However, due to the incredibly precise nature required for it, its more likely to just cause pain in the body, which would normally cause most people a moment of hesitation (since the neck has a ridiculous amount of nerves). '

Of course, it goes without saying the dragon's children natural resilience would protect them from such strikes - in the case of a simple human doing it. Supernatural beings like celestials and elites have far greater strength, so that their hits can actually ignore most resistances the dragon children might have beyond their usual ones. Supernatural beings can hurt supernatural beings.

Regardless, its an acceptable 'no sell' (if only because of how unreliable it is if someone isn't trained) but do note that martial based fighters are definitely capable of such a thing (although they aren't likely to actually use it). Anyhow, GG

IC: The two objects do indeed slam into each other, but much to Ariel's dismay the resulting collision of divine energy generated vivid bursts of light around the point of impact, a pressurized shockwave emanating from the point of impact. With a tch, Crowley moved forward with surprising speed, despite his rather big build, charging towards Ariel. With a swing of his blade, the weapon's edge collided against Ariel's, the force pushing him back. He stepped back, holding his hand and then swiping it sideways while his mouth moved rapidly, forming incomprehensible words as he uttered a magical incantation. The air around Ariel turned red, and then white hot as the air around her exploded into flames, flames dancing around her in a condensed ball, attempting to box her in and fry her in a convective current. Taking a cue from Crowley, the angel reeled back and hurled another spear of pure light towards Ariel, aiming to combine his attack with Crowley's.

Weiar twirled his spear, teh shaft catching the bolt of lightning and dissipating it harmlessly. The ground below him opened up, swallowing the polearm wielding elite and then closing in on itself. The ground below Tempest would rumble softly, the only warning before Weimar would shoot out of the ground, spear outheld as rocks sprayed everywhere in an attempt to skewer him from below.

    \

"Foul demon!" The angel cried out, completely caught by surprise at the emergence of Syed. The complete 180 shift in attitude, position, and fighting style allowed Syed's strike to go through, the kniofe piercing the angel. Ordinary blades should've broken under a celestial's iron skin, but Solluxre's blades were not only abnormal, but also infused with demon blood - the poolar opposite of an angel. The result? Overkill, essentially. The blade sliced through the angel's neck, vivid golden blood spraying out and likely showering Solluxre's body, the angel reeling back from the sheer strike. Intense pain consumed the angel as it fell down, dead. Marcus, meanwhile, dodged a strike from his target and swung his sword, almost cleaving the angel in half before withdrawing his blade, leaving the two elites the only targets left. Marcus promptly flujng himself at Crowley, who jumped backwards, narrowly evading the strike from the side. "Bring it! I'll take you both on!" Crowley roared, flames shooting up in a line towards Marcus, who danced sideways to evade them.

Crowley felt his lungs crumple as the air was pulled out of them, and he stumbled, coughing up a fine spray of blood. Impossibly, however, his lungs remained intact as he covered himself in flames, which quickly began consuming the oxygen around him. He then subsequently pulled that oxygen from the fire, allowing him to breathe normally and bypass Ariel's attacks. The result was him dashing backwards as the flames extinguished, having no fuel to burn. "Goddamn you!" he spat hatefully, wiping blood from his blood. He hastily blocked several swiped from Marcus, who mercilessly pressed forward. "Ariel, get on his blind side!" Marcus shouted.

Wiemar, however, sensing an opportunity lunged forward and drove his spear forward, aiming to slice it into Tempest's body. A second after his attack he was forced back, the air sizzling as heated knives sliced the air between him and Tempest. The armored man ran sideways, his feet kicking up clouds of dirt which rapidly solidified, forming a barrier of rock that completely encircled *Tempest and Solluxre within a small clearing. The walls began to move inward, the open space between the two and the walls rapidly diminishing.

Goji swiftly aimed a swift punch to the man's temple, aiming to knock him him out rather than kill, while Fujiwara moved forward to help Myaro subdue the horse Mei was on. "That went better than expected," she remarked towards the ninja. "Good job." Goji, for his part, groaned. "I knew this was going to happen! If there's one patrol, there's gonna be several others. We gotta go now, before more show up!

Crowley staggered sideways as her blade sliced into his neck....only for shards of light o erupt violently outwards with the force of a flashbang as the miracle (which is the name for God tier spells) that had been used to protect him dispelled. Regaerdless, the impact was enough to cut him, and send his body slamming sideways into the doorway, his sword flying to the side. "Gah...Weimar...." Crowley croaked, struggling to his feet, clutching his neck. Weimar, for his part, had not been expecting Syed's move, but was fast enough to dodge sideways as the djinn landed at the point where he had been...only for vivid blood to splash outwards as the knives gouged his chest plate, melting through and slicing into him. For the first time, a grunt of pain came from Weimar, who hunched over as the poison began to run its course. "Right, time to finish this..." Marcus spat, lunging forward with his blade and aiming to drive it into Crowley's chest. At the last moment Crowley pulled out the pendant, the scale on it glowing with brilliant light, which subsequently exploded backwards. Marcus cried out in pain as the holy light dispelled his shadows and knocked him back, burning him. Crowley was now gone, vanished in the burst of light. A similar thing happened with Weimar. the courtyard, now stained with the taint of battle, was completely silent. Marcus writhed on the ground for a few seconds more, breathing heavily as he laid on his back. "Ugh....this could be...troublesome...." he complained, forcing himself to a sitting position. Despite the burning sensation, it hadn't been extensive enough to mar him, but the skin along his face and arms was noticeably red. He slowly got up, sword held loosely at his side. "Their chances would be much greater if they came at us at once, I wonder what the big deal is? Wanting to minimize casualties? Regardless...." his gaze shifted sideways towards Solluxre, noticing the marks. "Oh, it's you again. Hopefully you'll be of greater use than our no good companion," he remarked, walking towards the main doors. "Breach and clear the center of heaven...glad to cross that off my bucket list...." He reeled back and kicked open the doors with savage force, with no regards to stealth. The enemy knew they were here, so there was no point in going in gently. He was thoroughly pissed at having been attacked by the light, so thoroughly pissed that he did not consider the possibility of ambush. As the dragon children entered the dimly lit main room of the Court, the doors behind them slammed, and a moment later dazzling light erupted around them. Covering his eyes, Marcus jumped backwards, right as the terrifying sound of a crackling sound issued out. Despite his fast movements, Marcus felt himself seize up as magic struck him, knocking him down. Ching! Something slmamed into the ground where he had been, had he not rolled sideways. At the same time, attacks from the blinding light came at Syed, Ariel, and Tempest simultaneously, although for Syed, it was another burst of lightning, while only the sound of of a blade slicing air was their only warning against the attacks.

The light faded away, granting those who had been blinded sight, albeit a bit disoriented, due to sunspots. To the side was Reno, who looked a bit stunned they had survived her onslaught, her eyes narrowing as her slender body leaned forward, her paired swords at the ready. "Why do you go after us? Why do you need to kill us?" she asked them, her voice wretched. "What...what the hell did we ever do to you?!" Marcus vanished as he sprinted forward, bringing his sword down upon her, although she blocked it effectively by crossing her blades into an X, catching the heavy blade. "What makes you think you have the right to play God?! Do you even understand what the hell you're doing?!" Reno shouted forcibly, side stepping and disengaging. Marcus stumbled forward, the weight he had been pressing against no longer there. He whirled around, brilliant sparks as Reno twirled, both of her blades screeching against his with a crescendo, the force, coupled with him being unbalanced, enough to drive him against the wall. Reno shifted her vivid blue gaze towards the other dragon children, once more crouching. Even if it kills me, I must hold them back. I must drive them away until they can finish the preparations. Reno thought as her body transformed into a bolt of golden lightning, instantly teleporting in the middle of the dragon children. She quickly extended her blades and twirled, the blades spinning like that of a propeller, directing most of the force against Syed. As she came out of the spin, she held out a palm, several orbs of light forming around Ariel and Tempest. "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." she quoted, closing her palm. Bolts of golden lightning crackled violently as the orbs discharged, a web of purifying light forming around Tempest and Ariel, several bolts of holy energy aiming to piece through Tempest and Ariel.

OC: NOTE: Reno might utilize lightning, but it's holy lightning, meaning that in addition to shocking, it also burns with purifying heat. (that as a side note deals increased damage against those with bad intentions. This damage ordinarily doesn't apply, but Judges have the ability do direct this extra damage on those who they deem unworthy to bear the title of "Good". (plus, they'd be able to do it anyways since they are defending the Holy Court)

Speaking of which, background information: The Holy Court is kinda like the heavenly version of the Dead King's Court in the Netherworld. Those wishing to become Celestials, be they mortal or dead must come here to be deemed worthy, and it's also a supplementary process to go through when one wishes to rise to a higher rank within Heaven (i.e a cherub wanting to become an angel, an angel wishing to become a archangel, that good shiz). More than that, it's also where due process for the most serious of cases go to. It's rarely used for this reason, as most magical crimes can be handled at the Magisterial level. If the dragon children were to be stopped or captured, this is where they would go to face judgment.

The fact that we are within Heaven means that all Holy magic is boosted, allowing the elites to have at least some form of "home turf' advantage, since the tides are usually stacked in the dragon children's favor.

Also, don't expect much from Marcus - there's only so much a child of dark can do within the realm of light, after all.

Reno shook her head in dismay. She knew they were wrong, but she did not know how to adequately express Bergen's reasons for having initially expelled them. She let out a startled cry at Syed's rapid advance, her twin blades a blur as she deflected his twin slashes. However,m the kick that followed took her completely by surprise, and she yanked back, wincing in pain as the knife slashed her skin along her side, although the heat from Syed's knives cauterized it, ensuring it didn't bleed. The pain, however, was twice as bad however. "Eh....?" She looked behind her, only to for a wave of dark energy to engulf her as Marcus' sigil flared into existence, signifying the usage of powerful magic, The wave of darkness dissipated, and with it Reno. "Damn, missed." He spat, sidestepping as a bolt of golden lightning raked the ground, Reno stepping away from a nearby pillar she had dived behind. Reno strafed sideways, slamming one blade into the ground, and then running towards Marcus. Marcus braced himself for an attack, only for Reno to hop over him slamming her second, shorter weapon into the ground be hind him. Now weaponless, she pulled out three iron rods, her face stony as she flung one at the wal near Tempest and Ariel, one on the ground near Solluxre, and then another one towards the ceiling. Marcus 's eyes traced the blades, but they didn't form any particular symbol or were in any formation that might mean something. "What the hell are you trying to do?" he asked her with a frown. "Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light..." Reno uttered, the two swords glowing softly. A tendril of golden lightning sparked from one blade to another, with more tendrils arcing towards the three bolts. Marcus cried out involuntary as the lightning arced towards him, tasing him. With several curses he dived into into a portal, appearing as far away from any of the tendrils of lightning as he could. The bolts of lightning crackled violently, pulses of purifying light emanating along the magical energy. One of the rods near Solluxre violently burst apart, several scorching lasers of sheer light moving towards SOlluxre. A similar happenstance would happen with Ariel and Tempest. Reno, for her part, threw her hand up, the air around her beginning to ripple as she rapidly prayed, no doubt preparing another light based attack. Marcus, unwilling to get any closer than needed, held out his hand and sent an orb of chaotic energy treaking towards Reno, only for it to burst apart halfway as a tendril of lightning arced from a nearby sword, dispelling it.

OC: What do you think would happen if you stuck your hand in a beam of concentrated light? It deals radiant damage so at the very least it would dissipate along anything it impacts, causing burns, or if it does enough damage, pierce or go through several objects, including skin. It's definitely gonna hurt Syed, who I'm certain is not only evil or at least malicious aligned, but also because he is effectively a demon in all intents and purposes. It's not Reno's lightning, so it won't shock or stun him, but it'll definitely do some damage. It's important to note that while Light has offensive means in the form of lasers and other such things, its a lot better at defense and auxiliary magics, such as Shields or invisibility. Shadow/Chaos magic is more geared for offense rather than defense, which is why poor Marcus here usually has to tank attacks like a champ rather than block them with a shield.

Reno closed her eyes and rapidly finished her chant, uttering yet another quote that went unheard. She then turned around and grabbed the knife with her hand, halting the jab. However, despite it's searing heat, the knife did not injure her. She then reeled back and swung her hand at him, attempting to strike him on the side of the head. If the impact should succeed, it'd explode in a brief burst of holy flame. Reno then whirled around, the orbs shattering and the tendrils of light that had formed a web vanishing, right as the two swords in the ground also melted away in a burst of light, reforming in Reno's hands as she swung instinctively, the blades forming right as they slammed into the first wind shear, dispelling it. The second one slammed into her violently, the wind slicing into her coat and cutting into her deeply. She staggered back, crying out in pain. Ah...it hurts.... she had never felt such pain before. A moment later Tempest impacted against her, but rather than allow herself to be grappled she rolled with the attack, clenching her teeth as the shock from contact with him violently tased her. The result was that she wound up flying backwards and hit the ground, and then subsequently rolling sideways one last time to evade any further attacks, fighting back tears. Connor...I"m sorry, but I don't think I'll get to visit you again... she thought, struggling to her feet, swords in hand, eyes defiant.

But still....I wish someone would come and help me. Please.... she sent out a silent prayer, right as a bolt of darkness flung itself towards her. She reflexively attacked it, only to stagger as the beam dispersed, moving away from her blade. Several tendrils of shadowy energy subsequently branched out and curved inward towards her. Reno braced herself to be impaled, only for the orbs to slam into something soft. A moment later, a Mannequin, now badly damaged, collapsed to the ground. "gosh, that was a close one!" A by now all too familiar voice was heard as Mika materialized beside Reno, tiny blade in hand. "Sorry for the delay, we got held up..." she told Reno, her eyes shifted towards Marcus and the others. "Why dont'cha try picking on someone yer own size?!" she barked at them, although given how laughably tiny she was, it wasn't very intimidating. still, the fact Mika was here didn't bade well. "Where are your friends?" Marcus asked her, looking around. "You dolls are like cockroaches, where there's one, there's bound to be more..." Mika grinned cheekily. "Glad you asked!" She turned around, looking up. Above them on a nearby balcony sat Connor, who studied the dragon children. "Nothing surprises you anymore, huh?" he asked, lazily moving his hand. Several wooden mannequins marched out from two door, forming a battle line in front of Reno. Unlike before, these ones were armed with gladius' and shields. There were around 8 in total, plus a few smaller dolls around Mika's size. Reno sighed in relief, her swords falling to her sides.

"Don't worry, we've got things in plan for you lot," Connor remarked to the dragon children, his voice stony. "I got plans for you too. You've been a thorn in our side for way too long; I'll enjoy ripping you out and casting you away like the trash you are!" Connor's eyes narrowed. "Oho? I'd like to see you try!" The mannequins moved forward, two swinging swords at Solluxre, while two moved against Marcus. The remaining four went after Tempest. Three of the four porcelain dolls moved sideways, each going their own individual ways, but not towards any of the dragon children in particular. Indeed, their movements seemed to make no sense from a strategical stand point. The fourth porcelain doll held out it's hand loosely, a red ring forming in the air before it's palm. The ring exploded outwards in a plume of flame, the billowing fire blossoming outwards like a deadly fire towards Ariel. Similarly, Mika herself twirled in a half circle, vanishing into nothingness. Marcus batted the dolls away, but the shields must have been incredulously durable- Caliburn's razor sharp edge barely dented them. "You're a fool Connor! Only an Idiot leaves himself wide open!" He barked. Connor tilted his head. "But the question you must ask yourself is if I really am open? Why not tyr attacking me and finding out, hm?"

OC: I would reply but honestly I've got one heck of a stomach ache, might be food poisoning or something I dunno, but I'm gonna try and sleep it off and hope it's better in the morning. Sorry for putting off the reply for so long, but I don't have the energy to power through and get a reply up. If it was a headache I could do it, but stomach aches are on a different level.

always reply as fast as possible to your rps, otherwise this very thing will happen; you'll want to reply only to find you can't because some third party factor prevents you from doing so

If Reno's face hadn't been pale by then, it certainly was the moment she heard Aron's and Tara's comment. Even Priscilla's devil may care attitude faltered at their cavalier attitude over such a thing, although it was only for the briefest of seconds as she laughed it off. "Guess we'll just have to be careful then, huh?" she said. "Don't worry, I've gotten a feel for this sort of thing so if you uh, feel uncertain, just ask me and I can probably say for certain what might be in it," Misha told them reassuringly. "Ah, so Avino is also a man of wealth? Why does that not surprise me?" Victoria asked, reaching for a bottle of wine and then staring at it with close scrutiny. "Hmmm....."
"You wouldn't have to worry about that if you just got water," Reno told her as she turned the knob next to the sink, filling her glass with water. "Please, only a coward would balk at this. Free booze is better than no booze, I say!" Victoria remarked. Reno hesitantly took a drink from the water, appreciating how 'clean' it was. It certainly didn't taste like tap water. Priscilla herself opened a few cabinets, frowning. "Hey Misha where are the chips?" she asked casually. Evidently she had no issues at making herself at home in another person's house. "That one, I think," Misha said, pointing to a cabinet door next to the one Aron had pulled the crackers out of. Priscilla moved towards it and opened it, pulling out a bag of potato chips. "Alright! Now we're getting somewhere!"

"So uh..how much longer is this conflict of yours going to last?" Reno asked Aron, taking another drink from her glass. Meanwhile, Victoria had poured herself a glass of wine and sampled it. It tasted like regular wine, so she supposed there was no blood in it...she hoped. "So uh, just out of curiosity, how many liters of blood do you drink in a day?" she asked Tara. "Do you just have people who let you do it or do you just kinda do it at night to sleeping people?"

    ===============

"He's trying to bring those two apart? Oh great. They were insufferable enough as one, now it'll be twice as bad...," Drake groaned. "Didn't Hellfire have a stint with Ad Infinitum or whatever? How the hell do we know she can be trusted? Or is this just so we can have Flare without worrying about some disembodied ghost trying to possess her?" He looked towards the kitchen, where Misha and the others were. "Damn shame Misha's friends got caught up in this, but at least their the sort to take it in stride and not completely freak out. Well, most of them at least," he said, remembering how freaked out Reno had looked. "It's a good thing Prince showed himself when he did, now that we have a clear target we can take them out before more people get involved. Imagine some poor stranger getting caught up in this..." he shook his head. "Still, I suppose it'll be good to have Flare back in one piece...wait, would that be the right thing to say?" he thought on it for a moment. More intact? No. Whole? Nah. "...more stable, that's it." He said, finally finding the words he wanted. "I have a feeling we're gonna need here more than ever in the next few days."

OC: Look, look! Shruggy Boi finally got a reply up without third party interference. Sorry for the delay again. I feel a lot better now stomach wise.

Syed's presumption was right and wrong- the heat combined with the demon enhances sharpness bit into the blades as they deflected, but to their credit, whatever material the swords the dolls used was equally strong. It'd take several hard impacts to possibly shatter or cleave them in half. With mindless movements one of the mannequins moved behind Syed in a classic flank, aiming to launch a pincer attack at Syed from both front and back. The doll at the front held out it's shield to block any future stirkes, before briefly lowering it to raise the sword and swing once more at Solluxre. The other one also attacked Solluxre from behind with an attempted jab.

The mannequins looked up at Tempest with their featureless faces, a few mindlessly hopping in a vain attempt to reach him. Finding no success, they dispersed, targeting the other dragon children. With only two other ground targets, an additional one sluggishly moved after Solluxre, while the other one moved towards Marcus. Despite their mechanical movements, it was clear some were slower than the others, a likely byproduct of Connor having to focus on so many things at once. The porcelain dolls continued to move, although one of them also stopped, while one shifted it's direction, making a beeline for Syed, while the other moved towards Marcus, their movements increasing rapidly. The porcelain doll that had attacked Ariel moved it's arm left, the palm now extended towards Tempest. Another red ring formed, the plume of fire erupted outwards as before towards him. The second doll that had stopped crouched, a glyph forming underneath it. Propelled by magical energy, the doll jumped up, accelerating rapidly as it hurtled towards Ariel. Only this time, rather than lauch an attack the doll exploded violently outwards in a burst of magical energy, shards of porcelain ripping through the air in a small radius near her. At that moment, the air rippled beside Tempest as Mika materialized. "Height won't protect you from me!" The doll taunted, reaching out and trying to grab Tempest and subsequently plunge her knife into him. Already sparks flickered from the close contact between the two, but Mika was completely unaffected by them.

OC: Actually, I am not exactly sure whether or not Ariel was targeting the self detonating doll, or the one shooting fire at Tempest. Now that I've thought on it, I'll treat it as if she were targeting the one launching fire towards Tempest.

Also you went snowboarding tuck? How was it? I've never snowboarded before, so I wouldn't know.

IC: Mika let out a surprised yelp as she felt herself flung unexpectedly, her body disappearing within the fireball. However, as it rapidly dispersed, she flew out of the other side of the fireball, entirely unharmed as her body melted away, reappearing on a nearby ledge, although teleporting didn't seem to have helped much with her acceleration, as her body subsequently rammed against the wall with a dull thud. Mika winced, before cracking a dry smile. "Did you really think something like that would injure me?" she asked Tempest, placing a hand on her small chest. "It'd take flames of a way heavier caliber than that to even remotely affect me!" (Mika is/was a porcelain doll, so she's resistant to flame damage). She pressed her other hand against the wall to balance herself, careful not to fall. Gotta be careful not to let myself get slung like that... she thought, eyes narrowed. The tradeoff here was that Mika was a bit more fragile than the other puppets, which meant she was more geared for hit and run attacks. Mika promptly reeled back nd slung her knife at Tempest, and then with another swipe of her hand conjured several small beads of arcane energy, sending them hurtling towards the Zephyr all at once, the beads homing in on him.

Meanwhile, Ariel's blade hit the Porcelain doll and shattered it, the doll instantly falling lifeless. However, it's pale white skin began glowing white hot, before another explosion occurred as it's core ruptured, sending a wave of magical energy right at Ariel.

Syed's attack proved to be rather effective as he swept the mannequin's feet from under them, wood cracking under the impact of his supernaturally strengthened kicks, which subsequently sent both puppets downwards. The one Syed was facing rapidly recovered, however. Unfortunately for the puppet, it's off balance meant it couldn't block effectively, and Syed's knives brutally tore into the doll, the knives gouging flecks and shards of wood out of the puppet, which subsequently burst into flames from the sheer heat. One of the knives must have pierced its core, as the doll immediately fell to the ground, limp and lifeless. However, the one behind Syed struggled to it's feet, unsteadily advancing towards Syed. At that moment, the porcelain doll running towards him accelerated rapidly, it's body a small blur as it cannonballed itself towards Syed, intent on detonating explosively and catching him in the blast, ignoring the fact that the three other dolls near Syed would be within range. Evidently Connor didn't particularly care about collateral damage.

The other and last porcelain doll also flung itself at Marcus, who had dispatched the two dolls targeting him, turned to face wooden mannequin, only to yelp as he took an explosion to the face, blood splattering the ground as shards tore into his face. Marcus staggered back, stunned by the explosion, half of his face drenched with blood. He quickly recovered however, her lips curling up in a snarl. He wiped blood out of his eye, wining a his hand brushed against several deep cuts on his face, which was also burned. To be frank, it hurt like a bitch. The two wooden mannequins that had been targeting Tempest were now in range and mindlessly swung their swords at Marcus, who parried the blows. Another strike, and the wooden doll before him fell to it's knees under the impact as he cleaved it right in half. The two halves struggled to continue to attack him; but a quick curb stomp to the right half's chest put an end to that. However, Reno had caught her breath and launched herself at Marcus, who now had to contend with what was essentially the holy equivalent of a whirlwind, sparks lancing the ground around him as he struggled to parry the hail of blows Reno launched at him with renewed vigor, her swords crackling and glowing with holy energy.

    ====

Connor watched the battle with watchful eyes, constantly checking Reno, although he had to admit keeping an eye on her was detracting his ability to effectively manipulate the dolls. He supposed it couldn't be helped- they were merely trying to buy time, after all. One might've been angered by how easy the wooden mannequins and porcelain dolls were destroyed, but it was no issue. They were cheap to make, and little more than meat shields. He wasn't committed enough to send out the puppets that would at least be some level of challenge for the dragon children. He had to admit the Magestry's equipment was exceptionally high - his trained eye noticed that even though several of the dragon children had high quality weapons, and even a few had legendary ones, the standard celestial equipment was capable of holding it's own against them, if only for a bit.

Marcus tried to find an opening in Reno's lightning defense, but her attack was cut short as she acrobatically flipped backwards, right as a whirlwind of shards came between the two, angling towards Reno. Reno hastily twirled around once, both of her blades raking the air before her and generating a burst of electricity, the bolts arcing towards every shard within the tornado and bursting in small points of light, disintegrating the shards and rendering it basically harmless. She was about to deal with the whirl wind when a shout caused her to whirl around, her eyes widening as she couldn't help but cry out in surprise. "Waaaah! Where did you even come from?!" Still stunned by his appearance, she felt herself pitch forward as he slid, his legs slamming into her shins and knocking her forward. Her natural acrobatic ability took over and she managed to avoid faceplanting, but nothing could save her from the fact she was now unbalanced, struggling to reorient herself. "Took you long enough," Marcus told Jet, turning around and parry a blow from the other doll, his jaw set.

Syed's plan worked surprisingly well, as the doll he kicked hit the porcelain doll, prematurely detonating it and destroying both, but preventing Syed from winding up in the blast radius. Meanwhile, his attempt to use one of the wooden dolls as a launchpad worked, propelling him away from the two remaining dolls and successfully knocking down the one he had launched off of, as the sudden move prevented it from doing much other than try to brace against the impact. Meanwhile, Connor bit his lip, trying to think. With most of his dolls out of commision, there wasn't much for him to do. The same could be said for Ariel, whose s0le targets was Reno, one of the two puppets targeting Syed, the puppet attacking Marcus, or Connor himself, who looked to be completely undefended. "Connor, preparations are almost complete. Marisa just came back with the item in hand. He nodded, sighing, although his relief did not prevent him from slacking. Rather, the less dolls there were, the more he could focus on them individually; as a direct result they were now far faster than they were originally.

"Cheh!" Mika's high pitched voice revealed a frustrated tone; one that indicated she was fully aware that Tempest was right. The lightning flickered instantly, giving her no room to dodge, and she could not block it without her knife. However, other than staggering against the wall from the impact and scorching the front of her blue bodice, it didn't do much. Fire and Lightning would do little against a doll like her. The grab however was more worry as her body disappeared, forming behind Tempest and in front of her still aeriel knife. She deftly snatched it out of the midair as she began to plummet towards the floor. This was the second problem which gave Tempest an advantage: Mika could always match him at his location, but not in movement. Gravity still ffected her, and she could not move at all, while Tempest could. It was also far harder to cast magic when she was falling. On the other hand, at least I can use it... When she had been alive a few centuries ago, the golden haired beauty could not use magic, unlike her kindly companion Milo, who could. The disparity in their abilities always troubled her at first, but it had been something she accepted. And now, as she felt herself shift from one place to another, her eyes now meeting storm grey clothes before her, she could not help but marvel at her usage of magic, even as flames erupted along the length of her knife as she swiped desperately at him. Mika was no fool - with most of their back up gone, that meant more of the dragon children could target the same person, which was not good. it as better to disperse an impossible force among many things rather than take it head on.

"No, no injuries to report of," Fujiwara remarked, struggling to mount her horse. "Might've pulled something, but it won't affect me," Goji reported. They also began moving forward. Within thirty minutes, the trees begin to thin, followed by the salty scent of ocean wind. As they burst through, the group managed to find themselves on the bank of a large river. In the distance was what might've been a delta, followed by an endless expanse of ocean, no doubt the source of the salty smell. Beside the bank and in the middle of the rather large river was Murasa's ship, the top of which was patrolled by a few people. However, one of them quickly saw the horses an notified the othrs, causing a commotion. Within a short moment, a gangplank was deployed, and Riku quickly descended down it, followed by Murasa, whose teal eyes were bright. "Glad to see you guys made it safely! We were just about to go send out a small party to go look for you guys because we were getting worried...." Goji quickly explained everything that had happened. Murasa took in a deep breath, sucking air through her teeth. "Sounds like you cut it close. Sounds like they'll be missed. We gotta go, now!" She whirled around and barked a few orders, forcing the sailors to begin setting the rigging. The ship was ready to sail within a short time, as MUrasa had had them at the ready in case they needed to make a swift departure, just like now. She turned towards the horses, a conflicted look on her face. "I sincerely hope none of these orses are dear to you," she said softly. "But we neither have the supplies nor lodging for them. They will have to remain here...." However, Riku interjected. "So, wait, did you guys manage to get a cure?" he asked.
