Beck tried his best to hold the squirming boy firmly in his arms; Eli thrashed around, making struggled sounds before letting out sobs. "N- No! T- They're g... G- Gonna win!" He spluttered before going limp in Beck's arms, crying softly. "I l-lose!" Eli choked out and retorted to digging his nails into his arm.
Beck's eyes grew wide in shock and he placed him onto the sofa, trying to pry Eli's nails from his forearm. "Shh... Don't do that, kid! You're hurting yourself!" He rushed. Eli grimaced and then squeaked, yanking his hand away from him before curling up in a ball, his arm lightly scratched from his nails.
Beck sighed and opened his mouth to speak, only to be cut off by a sulking Eli. "I w- want B- Britt... She... S- She's nice. T- Take me there?" He glanced up curiously at Becking, wiping at his red, puffy eyes with closed fists.
Grunting under his breath, Beck sat back. Great; What was he supposed to say? "No, kiddo... I won't take you there." He said firmly, but soon regretted it when Eli squirmed and curled tighter into a ball, sobbing again. "B- But I want!... I- I... I w- want to! P- Please!... Mm..." He sulked, lashing his hand out to push Beck away grouchily.
"Fine! God dammit... Fine! Okay?!" Beck sighed, aggravated, and stood up. "Lets go say hi to Britt!" He rolled his eyes.
It wasn't long before the two of them reached the station. Eli had stopped crying almost immediately, the only evidence of his tears being his runny nose and puffy eyes, and instead he was crawling around at the back of the car as Beck drove, more excited than ever. When Beck parked the car and helped Eli out, he hesitantly took a firm hold of his hand in attempt to stop Eli from bolting to the door.
"Y- Yes! B- Britt!" Eli cheered, pulling Beck to the door excitedly. "I c- can tell her a- about Blackie and the b- big... Race!" He rambled on enthusiastically, his cross eyes wide and unfocussed as he tried his best to see clearly. Sadly, he struggled with his sight so he had trouble seeing the signs. Beck had to stop him before he could run off into the women's' toilets.
"This way, kiddo!" He grouched, tugging Eli towards Britt's office. Eli giggled happily, skipping along and inquisitively checking out everything on the way. Taking in a deep breath, Beck knocked on Britt's office door, pulling Eli back to his side.
