Raccoontail watched as Whisper fell asleep, he purred low and soothingly as he placed his head on his paws. His shoulder yelled with protest as he lay but it was a low pain in the back of his mind. He was barely aware of falling asleep until he felt some cat prodding him awake with a paw. "Whaa'?" He groaned.
Silverkit prodded him awake and whispered" Raccoontail, I'm hungry..." the kit had seen Raccoontail almost as an older brother.
Raccontail had gotten up and stretched with one paw. He applied pressure to his injured side and realized it had scabbed over. His muscles were still sore, but the patrols need to be done.
-
Raccoontail: Raccoontail smiled when he had heard concern in her meow. He touched his nose to her ear before saying "I will, I promise." He padded out of the den while Silverkit followed. "Make sure she stays put, please..."
Silverkit: Nodded. She felt something more happening beneath. An under layer of secrecy. "If your out then please try to get some poppy, juniper or even marigold. Oh! Some coltsfoot too!"
Raccoontail:"I'll try my best Silverkit." He rubbed her head with his tail. "Hawk! Snowpaw! Think your able to go on a hunting patrol?"
-
"Let's go then!" Raccoontail said. He bounded out of the camp and down a few slopes into where the pines began. His shoulder hurt at first, but as he continued , felt as though it just needed to be stretched. He stopped at the edge of the pines and waited for the rest of the patrol to catch up. "Are we hunting in pairs?" I might need to hunt alone to find some herbs... he thought.
Silverkit padded back into the nursery, her stomach growling. She threw herself on to the ground and rolled over in Whispers paws "I'm sooooooo hungry!" She whined. "Do you thing they'll be back soon?" She looked at Whisper from below, she laid on her back and showed her white underbelly to Whisper.

Raccoontail decided to hunt off on his own for a little while. He climbed a tree searching for pine cones as bait when he spotted a twitching tail. Perfect! he thought. He stalked the squirrel from the tree, his prey unaware of him, that was when it happened. A swift breeze changed direction and his scent went from him to the squirrel. He froze, and the then the squirrel tail flashed back inside. Mouse-dung! ....I need to get that squirrel though he climbed higher, and towards the center of the tree. Suddenly the squirrel shot out of its nest and flew toward the ground. Really?! he cursed himself for not getting it sooner. He picked a few cones on the way down and watched as they cracked when they hit the ground. He picked up a few seeds and tried to follow the scent of the squirrel. It let to a clearing where it was digging for some nuts. Yes!!!he scented and adjusted his position with the wind. He stalked up to the squirrel and was a fox length away, He bounced on to the furry creature and relieved an swift bite to the neck. Pleased with himself, he buried his squirrel and began sniffing the bushes for either a scent of prey or herbs.
Silverkit squirmed and giggled she got up and pounced on Whisper, staying far from her bad leg. "I love vole, what about you?" She asked
-
Raccoontail found some juniper under a few brambles. Great! he marked the spot and continued with his hunt. He tracked a mouse under the snow. He listened closely, and pounced. There was a small squeak and then Raccoontail pulled his face out of the snow, holding a limp body in his jaws. He placed it with his squirrel before pushing through the snow down towards the creek. As he began to hear to gently lapping of the water, he noticed there were more scents. Both herb and prey. He began to follow the herb scent first and found a few marigold leaves. He nipped a few and began to pads back hone, not wanting to destroy the flowers. As he padded into the camp her realized that he should've brought what Silverkit had sent him out for in the first place: prey! He dug a hole to the ground and placed the gentle flowers on the grass. He tried to bolt back to his prey and as he did, he startled a vole. Without thinking he pounced and killed the small creature. He wasn't far from camp so he brought it back without anyone noticing his return. He went back retrieve his squirrel and mouse and placed it on a makeshift fresh-kill pile. He picked up the squirrel and padded into the nursery at sunhigh. "Sorry I took so long..."he shrugged embarrassed.
Silverkit jumped up and and asked "Did you get any vole?! Did ya? Did ya??!"
Raccoontail nodded and set his prey down. "I did, its by the fresh-kill pile." He smiled as Silverkit ran out to get her vole. Raccoontail purred. He looked to Whisper feeling on top of the world "I've brought a squirrel. Unless you prefer mouse I got one too...."he laughed before continuing, "I would offer vole, but it seems there all out"
-
Ooc: no problem I'm just trying to rack up some fresh kill is all
Raccoontail sat next to Whisper ecstatic. "You can take the first bite..." he passed it to her.
-
Raccoontail smiled and took a bite out of the squirrel. He passed it back to the pretty she-cat. He was about to ask her what her and Silverkit had done all day when she noticed her claws digging into the soil. "Whisper are you alright?" Fear and concern swirled in his eyes as 2 koi fish in a pond. "Is it your leg again? I could look for some poppy or dandelion if you like!"
-
"You're going to tell me, that even without eating for 2days, your not hungry?" Raccoontail had even brought squirrel. Raccoontail brought his tail to her forehead. "You don't have a fever..." Does she just not want to eat with me? if you want the squirrel for yourself you can have it." He didn't know how to make her feel better. "I brought enough prey..." he kept his tail on her forehead for a moment longer before swiping it back, and tucking it around his own body.
-
Raccoontail's heart jumped into his throat when he saw Whisper's face. Her eyes, filled with pain, made him close his own eyes and wrap his tail around her tight. He leaned slightly closer without hurting her leg but enough that their pelts touched. He rubbed her head against the back of her neck. When he lifted his head to her ear and murmured "I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. Not while your here..." he licked her ear once before looking back to her face. "That's a promise..."
-
Silverkit, padded back in, the warm vole in her mouth. "Yeah, thanks Raccoontail for putting it on the bottom of the pile. Snowpaw and Hawk had already returned with their prey and placed in on top." She saw the half eaten squirrel and how the two warriors were pressed so closely against each other purring. "How come I always miss the good stuff?!" She whined. "What happened?"
Raccoontail looked to Silverkit and stood, breaking away from Whisper's embrace. He padded to the kit and knocked her on to her back with his muzzle. "How about I tell you when your older?" He held the kit on her back with his nose. He was trying his hardest to stifle a mrrow of laughter.
Silverkit looked very unpleased at that. She glared at Raccoontail and lashed her tail, before flashing Whisper with a pleading glance.
-
Raccoontail: Raccoontail laugh a little when Whisper had agreed with him. But all the anger in Silver kit's eyes were gone when Whisper said she could leave camp to gather herbs. "Really?! I can go outside of the camp?!" he batted at Raccoontail's nose with her soft blue paws, until he let go.
Silverkit: She quickly ran out of the den to Snowpaw to ask if the apprentice would join her to collect some herbs. This would be the first time she would leave the camp!
Raccoontail: Raccoontail watched as Whisper walked out of the den after Silverkit had. It was obvious that the she-cat was still in pain by the way she was limping. Before leaving Whisper looked at him in such a sorrowful face he was stuck to the ground for a few seconds. As soon as the tom caught his breath, Raccoontail went after her. He caught up easily and asked "May I join you?" He didn't want to leave her alone to wander around the forest injured.
Ooc: I think I'm heading to bed soon

Ooc. I would ask you why you sighed but I'm currently questioning other kits .3. I should really think about creating another adult cat on here...

Raccoontail: Raccoontail smiled, slightly relieved, he didn't really want her to leave camp with her injury, but she was a warrior and he really couldn't stop her. "You can walk, don't worry. Let just rest a while"
Silverkit: Silverkit bounced up and down. She raced into the medicine den, took count of some herbs she needed and then went back to the white she-cat. "I'm ready!" She waited for the apprentice to take the lead.

Raccoontail: Raccoontail looked into her eyes for a moment, he saw something flicker , but it left before he was able to tell what it was. He sat down next to her, and allowed their flanks to touch, that's when he remembered. "You never got to eat! He exclaimed."I'm sure you must be hungry now!"
Silverkit: Silverkit followed closely, almost glued to the apprentices hind leg. "Where do we go first?!" She chirped.

Raccoontail's heart didn't feel the same fluttering feeling this time. He knew something was wrong. He laid down in front of her and looked up so they were looking in each other's eyes. "What's wrong? I know something's the matter..." his voice trailed off. He had s small protective tone in it, and his eyes were pleading for an answer.
