Serena padded up to shadow when he got back to camp, touched noses and led the way to their nest

Serena gathered up her pups and watched the hunting patrol prepare to head out

Sandclaw purred and watched his children, he looked at his mate, "Do you like being in here?"

"To be honest" he meowed "I was wondering if we would be done after these three..." his mew faded away

"Our children will be safe, silverfang promised"

he licked her head, "it will be ok" he purred at her shaking his head

"Well I was smart enough to be with you" he purred, pressing his pelt into hers

Sandclaw padded back over to the kits and sat beside them, watching them play

"That was very good" sandclaw praised

"Oh, yeah" murmured beechkit "the whole forest is scared"

"You will my dear" he purred and licked his daughter's head

"I can catch a mouse too, Mommy" Smokekit called from behind her sister as she leapt onto gingerkit's back

Sandclaw chuckled as he watched his daughters, but when he glanced over at beechkit he saw what he believed to be a feeling of being left out

Serena had to keep nudging on her weary pups, not wanting to get left behind and unable to carry all 3

"but momma, I'm not going to be a hunter" he mewed sadly.

Sandclaw pretended not to hear his son's admissions, Goldenlilly would straighten it out

Serena smiled gratefully, and picked up her pup who squirmed but did not argue. She allowed for her pelt to brush against Josac's slightly as they walked, careful so she would not to get in trouble with Shadow.

"Ok, momma" he mewed and pounced towards his sisters.

Sandclaw licked his mate's cheek, "good job, but I don't think we have heard the end of that" he meowed

"yeah" Sandclaw purred "Let's take a walk, the kits will be fine for awhile" Being cramped up in the den was making Sandclaw ansy

"What are you so excited about? They aren't taking us with them" hissed Beechkit

"Where will you take her? you know they are not allowed to leave camp" he whispered as they left the den

Smokekit took the opportunity of her sister's distraction to jump on her again

Sandclaw walked out of camp with Goldenlilly "They are almost old enough to get their apprentice names" he meowed, half to her, half to himself

"And poor Beechkit never will" he sighed "Our nest is going to be lonely, makes me want more so we can just stay in the nursery" he joked, pressing his pelt into hers affectionately

He smiled "Oh really?" he nudged her into the stream with a splash
