While visiting your home town, the last thing you expected to happen was to wander into a Yokai's domain. Yet, that's exactly what happened. While taking a walk at night to unwind from the day, you see an odd light in the distance. Curious, you decide to check it out. As you walk through the forest, you can see the light growing brighter with each step, and eventually, you can see the source. Two long rows of torches lit by blue flames, lighting the worn stone path. The blue flames are unnatural and make you hesitate, but seeing as you had come this far already, you decide to find out where the path leads. At the end of the path lies an old temple, you can tell that in its prime it had been a regal structure, but now it seems to have been abandoned for several decades. Which leaves you with several questions: Who had lit the torches? How were they blue? Who had the temple been dedicated to? And why was it now abandoned? Looking up at the blue-hued moon, you realize that no time has seemingly passed since you entered the forest. Cautiously, you enter the temple, hoping to find some answers. Upon entering the dark temple, blue flames suddenly burst into existence, forcing you to shield your eyes from the brightness. After a moment, you open your eyes to see large dragon statue staring down at you. It wasn't what you were expecting, but what surprises you more is the person sleeping as they leaned against the dragon statue. Something draws you to move closer to the person, and as you kneel down next to the person, you reach for their face. when their hand suddenly grabs your wrist. Their ocean colored eyes snap open and lock on you, a mixture of surprise and annoyance swirling within the two turquoise orbs. After a few seconds of silence, the man lets go of your wrist and sits up. Without a word, the man walks towards the entrance to the temple and opens the doors, gesturing for you to leave. Confused by the whole encounter, you follow his instructions. You step outside and turn back to the man, puzzled. He finally speaks to you, warning that it is dangerous here for a human and that you should leave before its too late. You try to ask what he means by that, but he makes no effort to explain further. Before shutting the door, the man gives you one last piece of advice. Do not wander off the path. And with that, you are alone again. Making sure to stay on the path, you ponder why he said that. After what feels like an eternity, you finally leave the forest, just in time to see the sun begin to rise. You decide to return the next night, to figure out who that man was, and why you felt something pulling you back to that place.

    - Just post a simple form like mine and jump in.

    - The RP will start with your character returning the following night.

    - The general story will be about your character becoming entranced with the Yokai domain and Ryuu himself. After a little while, it becomes too dangerous for your character and Ryuu tries to keep him from coming back by making the temple unable to be seen by your character. But as Ryuu watches him keep returning each night, even after he cannot see the temple, Ryuu is forced to confront his own feelings.

    - I'm all for dramatic plot twists. ie. your character being lured off the path and kidnapped by another yokai (prompting Ryuu to try to keep him from returning for his own safety), or even potentially having your character become a yokai after spending too long in the yokai realm (and them either trying to return your character back to human form, or your character wanting to remain as a yokai).

(( Sorry if all this is kinda confusing... If you have any questions, just ask~! ))

Ryuu watched as the human entered the temple, sitting in the same spot as he had the night before, when the human had disrupted his sleep. While the yokai would like to say that it was a surprise that the human had returned, it really wasn't. He had already expected as much to happen, seeing as how humans were a species driven by curiosity.

"You don't listen very well, do you?" Ryuu commented, rising to his feet. His turquoise eyes studied the human, the first one to visit the temple in many years. Both the temple and the yokai that had been worshiped here, had been forgotten long ago. Time passed much differently for Ryuu though, so it didn't really bother him that no human had set foot in the temple in such a long time. Nevertheless, the yokai didn't mind the company. It gave him a welcome relief from his solitary existence.

Ryuu opened his mouth to argue with the human, before realizing that it was probably pointless, and just sighed instead. "At least the moon is full and you stayed on the path." He commented as he ran a hand through his silver bangs, the two gold bangles on his wrist jangling slightly at the movement.

Ryuu watched as the human moved closer to him, internally wondering just how fearless the human was. Listening to the other's words, the yokai couldn't help but chuckle quietly. "Well, you've got me there." He responded. "Not many humans come this deep into the forest anymore."

Ryuu thought about the human's questions for a moment. "My name, huh?" The yokai said quietly, trying to remember. The humans had called him by many names back when they had still visited the temple. but now he couldn't really remember what any of them had been. "Just call me Ryuu. It's easier that way." He told the human.

Trying to figure out how to explain why he was still here after so many years, especially to a human, was challenging to say the least. Most yokai were free to go wherever they pleased, but those that had been worshiped by humans as "Gods" became bound to their temples or shrines. Perhaps if the temples and shrines were destroyed, the yokai bound to them would be free to leave, but it was also possible that in doing so, the yokai bound there would also be destroyed.

Turning to face the dragon statue behind him, Ryuu looked up at the dragon's face before speaking. "I lost the ability to leave this forest a long time ago." The yokai turned slightly to look at the human, his turquoise eyes watching the other's reaction closely. "Such is the fate of those worshiped as 'Gods'. "

Jun walked carefully through the forest, trying not to touch any of the trees since winter hadn't yet breathed it's icy wind into the region. He put his pipe up to his lips, letting the smoke escape his lips as he sighed in irritation. He really didn't want to be traveling at this time of year, but he didn't have much choice in the matter. Yokai hunters had tracked down his previous location, and Jun only had just enough time to get out of there before they had arrived. He tried to stay out of human affairs as much as possible, but being a male Yuki-Onna made him quite the trophy to any hunter willing to risk an icy death. Distracted by his thoughts, Jun didn't hear the movements of someone else in the forest until he felt someone's gaze on him. As he stopped mid-step, the sound of ice spreading could be heard as the ground beneath his feet froze instantaneously. "I know you're out there." Jun called, his blue eyes scanning the forest around him.

(( Sorry for taking so long to reply... ))

Jun's eyes widened slightly in surprise as another yokai emerged from behind a tree, and a nine-tailed kitsune at that. He let out a faint sigh of relief, he had been expecting more hunters. Keeping a close eye on the other yokai, he unfroze the ground at his feet, not wanting to damage the forest. He didn't feel like fighting another yokai, especially over territory since some yokai could get vicious over another trespassing on their land. If the woman wanted to fight, it would be challenging for him, perhaps not impossible, but it would be a fierce battle. Raising his pipe to his lips, he took a moment to just watch the kitsune before letting out the smoke slowly. While he had unfrozen the ground, Jun had not completely let his guard down, and the smoke swirled around him in the cold air that surrounded his body. "Looks like this mountain is already taken." He stated, his face expressionless as he waited for the kitsune's response.

    (( No worries~ ))

Ryuu could tell from the way the human had said his name that he too saw the irony in it. Even the yokai would admit that the name was... Uncreative, to say the least. A dragon god named "Dragon Spirit"? It was a bit ridiculous. But it was easier to give the human a simple answer than to spend hours trying to remember his real name. He wouldn't have been surprised if the human had made some sort of comment pointing that out, but thankfully he didn't.

Listening to the human introduce himself, Ryuu found it a bit strange. None of the humans who had come here to worship him had ever introduced themselves. All they had done was pray for his help before leaving. This human was one of only a handful who had told him their name, and it reminded him of just how much things had changed over the centuries. Suddenly realizing the he hadn't responded to the human, he turned to face him.

"Daisuke, huh?" Ryuu repeated, memorizing the name. He could sense that Daisuke wasn't quite sure what to say in response to the information Ryuu had given him. Sitting down on the platform which the dragon statue sat on, the yokai leaned his back against the cold stone of the statue. "There's still some time before you have to leave." He commented, gesturing for Daisuke to have a seat as well. "If you have any more questions, I can try to answer them for you." Ryuu offered.

Jun relaxed as he listened to the kitsune's words, the smoke starting to dissipate as the air around him started to warm up. Since she hadn't claimed the area as her territory, the chances of a fight over him being there diminished, There was still a chance, but it was much less than it could have been. He hummed in acknowledgment before speaking. "Makes sense, considering..." Jun trailed off, glancing at the woman's nine tails. He paused for a moment, thinking of what to say next. Something that she had said made him curious. "So, do hunters not enter this mountain, or something?" He asked, leaning against a tree next to him, while making sure not to completely freeze the tree. If hunters didn't enter the mountain, then it might be a good spot to stay, at least until the winter. But if he fought with this kitsune, then the chances of being able to do so were slim. Jun tried to make himself appear as less of a threat, since a fight with her would use up far too much energy, and would likely leave him defenseless against hunters.

(( No need to apologize, mine hasn't been too great either... ^^* ))
