Willowdapple nodded. "But lets not lose anyone this time." she said with a hint of a smile.

Willowdapple nodded. "Alright, lets go."
OOC: Just wondering, but does Moonkit eventually want to become a medicine cat apprentice?
Mintleaf looked up at the tiny bundle of fur that came rushing into the den. "Well hello there little one." Mintleaf said softly. "What are you doing here?"
-
Emberpaw followed Thunderfang hesitantly. Hadn't the kittypet said that only one cat could come? So did that mean that Emberpaw could not? She wanted to go so badly, but was pretty sure that she would not be allowed to.
-
Willowdapple lead Flamepaw to the river. "Lots of animals come here to drink, so this might be a good spot." she said. Almost immediately, she saw a water vole. It was big and would make a very good catch. "Why don't you go get that vole." she suggested to Flamepaw.
OOC: I'll take her. How old is she and when can she become an apprentice?
IC: Mintleaf's heart melted when she saw how sad the kit was. It was so cute. "Come on over here." she said, walking over to the back of her den, where it was warm. "Why don't you lie down, you look exhausted." Mintleaf pulled some of the moss from her bed to make a smaller one for the kit. "What's your name, little one?"
-
"That was great!" purred Willowdapple. "You are doing very well." Then she turned and went to look for more prey to catch.
Mintleaf saw the distrust in Moonkit's eyes and guessed that something very bad had happened to the poor kit. "Don't worry." She said softly. "Nothing bad is going to happen." She stroked Moonkit with the tip of her tail. "You're safe here."
-
Emberpaw nodded at Thunderfang. She was going to go wherever her mentor went. And if she could somehow help her clan too, then she would do it.
-
Emberpaw felt Lithicwing's gaze on her and nodded at her, wondering what the warrior was thinking.
-
Willowdapple nodded and stalked close to the rabbit. At the last moment, the rabbit felt that something was wrong and broke cover, running for his life. Willowdapple launched after the rabbit and then pounced on it, killing it. Rabbits were always harder to catch.
Mintleaf smiled at Moonkit, who was sleeping so soundly. She wished she knew what had happened to the kit. Why she was all alone, and where was she from. But for now, Mintleaf left her to sleep.
-
IC: Willowdapple smiled and picked up the rabbit. "Let's see what else we can catch."
OOC @ Tidepool: Do Mistclan cats eat and hunt fish?
IC: "Do you like mice?" asked Mintleaf when Moonkit asked for some food. "Here, eat this." She pushed a small mouse forward. "If you want, there is some water in that corner of my den too." Mintleaf gestured to where a small spring of water lay. She usually used the water for sick cats, but also to drink when she was thirsty.
-
Willowdapple nodded. "Of coure we can catch fish. Not all cats like fish, they are cold and oily, but I think they taste good. The oil in their bodies also make your fur shine and helps you swim. Here is how you catch them. Watch me." Willowdapple went over to the stream and crouched down on the edge. She was careful to keep her shadow off of the water, because a shadow would scare the fish away. When she saw a ripple, she dipped her paw in and out came a big, flopping fish. Quickly, Willowdapple killed it and said, "Now you try. And remember to hit the water in front of the fish. That way, the fish will swim right to you."
Mintleaf said, "Of course you can stay, but what about your clan. Won't they want you back?"
-
Willowdapple smiled. "Fish are hard to catch, but they are worth the effort, aren't they." She crouched down and flicked her paw into the water. Up came a fish and Willowdapple killed it. "What else do you want to catch?"
Mintleaf looked at the kit in surprise. She must be loner, if she didn' know what a clan was. "A clan is a group of cats who live together, like a big family. We all take care of each other. I'm Mintleaf the medicine cat. I take care of sick or injured cats. We also have warriors who hunt for the clan. Our leader is Smokestar and our deputy is Greyfeather." Mintleaf thought for a moment. "So, you don't know where your mom is?"
-
Emberpaw's tail drooped at the kittypet's words, but she stepped back to show that she didn't mind not going. She did mind of course, but did not want to show it.
-
Willowdapple picked up her prey. "We can go if you want."
Mintleaf heard the screech from the nursery and new that Blossom was kitting. "Stay right here." she meowed firmly to Moonkit. "I will be back soon." On her way out, she bumped into Smokestar. "I know, I'm coming" she said and hurried into the nursery.
-
Mintleaf looked around. In her hurry to get to Blossom, she had forgotten the thyme which would have calmed Blossom down. Without it, Mintleaf would just have to use words. "Don't worry about anything. Kitting isn't that hard. You really don't have to do that much. All you have to do is push when you feel that kits coming." Mintleaf smiled and looked back at the cats in front of the nursery. "All of you, please leave. And Smokestar, could you get Blossom's mate and some thyme?"
-
Hey there! I hope we'll get a chance to role play together sometime.
-
"Alright. Remember, there is nothing to worry about." Mintleaf said calmly. Then she remembered something. "And one other thing, when your kits come, you have to lick them and get them warm and breathing. That's it."
-
Hey Hazelstar. Do you have a link to your clan? I want to join!
Willows are my favourite trees also, along with oaks, birches and Brazilian pepper trees. -
Mintleaf smiled as the first kit popped out. "Leafkit." she repeated. "It's a wonderful name." Although she didn't say anything, she wondered where Weed was while his mate was kitting.
