GODDESS OF SPRING & JOY + GUARDIAN OF CHILDREN & ANIMALS + UNWED
Maia watched helplessly as Alkaia began to pack, seeming to sense the urgency of needing to leave in such a hurry. She watched Alkaia grabbed their belongings, as well as other things that did not belong to them. In most circumstances, she would be opposed to theft. But, she knew that they would need those supplies for the journey ahead and she didn't have the strength to protest. She simply wished she could escape. To run away from this sick feeling Ares had left in her stomach, something that warned her that the worst had yet to come. She feared a great many things, even with her memories shattered. She knew she feared never going home again and seeing her mother. She feared letting herself fall into Ares' grasp and never being able to escape from his cruel hands. She wanted to find her hope again, to not let the encounter with the God of War get to her. She wished to feel the sun on her cheeks once more and the bare earth beneath her feet. She wanted to get out of here just as quickly as Alkaia did but it seemed that she was cemented to her spot. She inhaled deeply just as Alkaia snapped at her, seeming to not be in any mood to deal with her. But it seemed that once she saw the blonde's teary eyes, she eased her anger. Maia simply felt alone here and the only person it seemed that was on her side was Alkaia. She had no one else to turn to and she knew Alkaia was not a comforting woman but she was a Goddess without her family. It was a very alienating feeling and she simply wanted to feel whole again. The Goddess slowly blinked as Alkaia spoke again, saying their best chance was for Maia to listen to her and various emotions swam in her bright eyes. She guessed that Alkaia had always been a soldier and was never taught how to be gentle. She was raised by men so it was tough and straight forward with them. Maia was suddenly thankful for having her mother and father around a child. She watched Alkaia as she held their belongings and spoke again, saying they needed to leave soon. The Goddess knew she was right. It would do them no good to stay here for longer than necessary. She lowered her head, a heaviness hanging on her shoulders. She felt lost and she had no idea who to turn to.
The golden-haired beauty lifted her head slightly as the witch made her way over, gently patting her knee a few times. Albeit, awkwardly. Still, Maia appreciated the gesture. Alkaia then spoke, telling Maia she would be okay and then offering to go through a certain path in the forest to have her stop and work with plants, hoping it might make her feel better. Maia knew it wasn't perfect but she hoped simply being around nature would make her feel better. She smiled small in Alkaia's direction as her eyes shimmered with a dim hope. Alkaia rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly and Maia lifted her head fully, brushing her messy hair from her face. The witch asked if the suggestion sounded good and the Goddess smiled thankfully. She nodded slowly before speaking, "Yes, that sounds perfect. Thank you, I know this can't be easy for you. I appreciate you wanting to comfort me, even if I've been a bit of a hassle to care for." Maia laughed softly, the sound as sweet as a summer breeze. She nudged Alkaia gently, standing slowly. She walked out of the room and headed downstairs, toward the front door. Maia glanced around the big room as Alkaia checked them out before they headed out to the horses. Maia climbed atop the horse with ease and they began their journey to the forest.
