[justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]Maykit flinched at the rude tone in Springpaw's voice. The calico backed away a step. "No one in particular," he mewed, a bit scared. Who knew his 'expedition' to find friends would lead to this? The son of Peregrinestar and Milkshake's yellow eyes drifted, "I was just looking to make some friends," he added.

[justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]Maykit didn't look at Springpaw, already quite intimidated. "The name's Maykit," he meowed, his tone still mellow, even though his eyes could've depicted a different emotion. The calico wasn't one to yell or scream -- he was quiet a sweet and curious cat. Satisfaction always brought him back, even if curiosity had killed him. The young kitten blinked, yellow gaze returning to Springpaw.

She didn't strike him as a cat to befriend, but he supposed he could make the best out of it.

[justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]"Yup, Peregrinestar's my dad," said Maykit, his yellow gaze fixated on Springpaw. Something seemed to be wrong, and the sweet little calico hated seeing others in such unrest. However, Maykit felt as if Springpaw would yell at him if he got any closer or offered to help, so he just kept his gaze fixed on the she-cat, then shuffled his paws awkwardly.

[justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]Maykit found his own ears flattening. "So when did you become an apprentice?" he asked, not liking the turn the conversation was taking. The calico had tried to change the subject by asking when Springpaw had become an apprentice -- he didn't know what else to say. The son of Peregrinestar and Milkshake shuffled his paws, yellow gaze trailing away from Springpaw, noting that she seemed a bit self-conscious.

[justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]It was true; Maykit was trying to make friends, not make enemies. The calico's yellow orbs focused on Springpaw again. "Congrats," he said, voice still mellow. He wasn't trying to appear rude, but it seemed as if Springpaw was being nicer. Maykit relaxed a little, not feeling as intimidated as he did before. Friends, friends, friends. He wanted a lot of friends, though he knew he would have to work for that.

[justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]"I'd be friends with you," started Maykit, "If you accept.'' The young calico bit his lip, scared Springpaw would yell at him or say no -- but he knew it was part of life. Life had its downs and ups, but so far life had been treating him quite well. The son of Peregrinestar and Milkshake shuffled his paws -- it was the moment of truth, per say.

[justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]"I won't regret it." said Maykit, "I'm not very...stereotypical,'' he mewed, saying a word that he saw the older cats saying. The son of Peregrinestar and Milkshake had his gaze firmly fixed on Springpaw. Maykit always kept his promises, and he knew he would not back out of a friendship.

[justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]"Hi, Tigerpaw," said Maykit humbly, twitching an ear. The tom smiled, glad he was already making new friends. That was all that was on his agenda at the moment -- make new friends. Maykit hoped he wouldn't make any enemies in the future, though he knew that wasn't possible. Every cat had enemies.

[justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]''Bye~!" mewed Maykit, a bit disappointed that she was leaving. He supposed it wasn't easy being a queen, and guessed a lot of stress came with it. The son of Peregrinestar and Milkshake shuffled his paws, liking the company of all the cats.

[justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]"...Do what?" asked Maykit, gaze trailing away from her once more. The calico's voice remained the same -- he had a fairly good temper. Maykit was usually calm and understanding -- he tried to figure out his wrongdoings, wondering what Springpaw was talking about.

    [justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]"Wildstreak!"

The kitten rushed over to the deputy, claws unsheathed. Maykit was now considering attacking the human, though he knew he could be killed. He didn't want to cause more grief, but now he knew it was too late as the suitcase was zipped closed. Fear overtook his heart but he stood by Wildstreak, hissing at Jack.

[justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]This time, Maykit's gaze stared right past Springpaw. He was genuinely offended this time, though hid it behind his serene face. "You're not," mewed the calico, "And I'm not staring at you like you're a freak. I'd never say that or think that." said the son of Peregrinestar and Milkshake, wondering how she got that impression.

[justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]Maykit, already on edge, jumped away, though the tip of his tail was snagged under the human's foot. He tried to wriggle away, though his attempts were futile. Pain seared from his tail as he desperately looked at Wildstreak, who was probably in enough pain at the moment. "Help!" shrieked the kitten, probably the only time he would raise his voice.

[justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]Maykit blinked. "In a few moons or so -- did you start training yet?" queried the tom, stretching. He had been occupying himself lately to make new friends -- and he had more everyday, which he supposed was a good sign. The calico flicked an ear.

[justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]"Sure," said Maykit. After all, she was an apprentice, so technically if he accompanied her out of camp, it wouldn't really be a rule-break. The calico smiled. "That sounds good," he mewed, his tone gradually getting excited.

ooc >> want me to turn this into a private thread? :3

[justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]As he was lifted by his tail, Maykit screamed. The pain was so overwhelming, and suddenly he wished that this was all a nightmare. "DAD! MOM!" he screamed, hoping that Peregrinestar or Milkshake would hear him. His voice would usually never be so loud, but he was in an utmost state of panic. "LET ME GO!" Too much pain was searing through his tail as he struggled and kicked out uselessly. After this, he would probably be shaken up for a few days.

    [justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]ooc >> sure c:
however, maykit is gay and sterile, so he won't be able to be mates with her in the future. however, he may become mates with another tom, and perhaps springpaw could be the surrogate mother?

"Okay," said Maykit happily, sauntering after her. The calico was glad he had made another friend; he liked being in the company of others. The son of Peregrinestar and Milkshake followed close behind her, a bit nervous since he had never been in the vicinity of the camp entrance.

    [justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]OOC: that sounds great!
Mobile post, sorry for short post

Maykit sauntered after her happily. "Ooh, really?" he asked, even more elated and excited at that prospect.

[justify][fancypost borderwidth=0][font=georgia]"I'm Maykit," mewed the son of Peregrinestar and Milkshake, turning to face the newcomer. "Nice to meet you, Lusterkit," he said, a smile flickering on his face. Hopefully he'd have another friend this fateful day.

"Do you know where it is?" asked Maykit, his curious instincts kicking in. Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back -- that was the case with the young calico -- he was very curious.
