Briar stalked a deer in the Wildland. She felt her wounds hurting with every movement but she and Bear had to get food on the table. Bear gave the signal and Briar dashed after the deer, driving it straight into Bear's waiting jaws.
The deer fell and the two dragged it back to the castle. Briar's ears were opened for a strange sound, signalling Death's Song's arrival but none came. She sighed in relief as she headed to Tassel's room. She could finally get to Tassel and ask her about the knighting ceremony.

Night awoke to find herself in a Twolegplace. She knew she was in a dream. It all didn't seem real. She heard the crying of kittens from a trash can and she ran towards the noise. Two kittens, one grey tabby with brilliant blue eyes and one calico with dark green eyes.
