Briar paused. There was something going on in the castle. She could feel it. She headed towards one of the rooms. The door opened with a creak as she padded inside.
A small terrier sat in the middle of the room and the door shut and locked itself.

"What is it that you want, Death's Song?" growled Briar as the terrier came closer. "My, my how rude," said Death's Song coming closer to Briar. She dug her claws into Briar's neck, making a long scratch. "There can only be one of us now," whispered Death's Song.

Briar raked her claws across Death's Song's face. Death's Song chuckled. "How ferocious, my friend. Let's see how you deal with my army,"

Several ghostly dogs rose from the dusty floor, all charging at Briar at once. Briar grabbed the skull of one of the dogs, flinging it at the others. A dog leaped at Briar sinking its teeth into Briar's neck.

Briar slammed the dog into the wall before clawing the neck of another dog. Two rottweilers came dashing at Briar, pinning her down and mauling her. Briar gasped in pain. She grabbed the rottweilers' claws with her teeth, pulling them out.

Briar jumped up, panting as the rottweilers loosened their grip and began to fade away. Death's Song came closer to Briar, a poisonous smile etched on her face. "It's over, Death's Song,"
"No, it has only barely ^begun,"

Several black snakes emerged from the ground, charging at Briar, their bloody fangs ready to strike. Briar bit the throat of the first snake, flinging it to the floor. Two other snakes came and Briar struck both of them down with her paw.

Suddenly, a giant python, bigger than Briar coiled around her, trying to crush her body. She bit on the python as hard as she could as several other snakes sank their fangs into her body. A pool of blood gathered beneath her and a stream of it flowed out of the door.
