Okay it okay if I don't have a faceclaim?

3 years ago, a hunter brought his ten hunting dogs on a hunting trip with him. Whether it was by bats, coyotes, badgers, etc, all ten of his dogs caught rabies. He was too in love with his companions that he couldn't bear to put them down, so he brought them back home with them. He was bit by a few of them, and caught rabies himself. Soon after, he died. His rabid dogs got out from his yard days later, in search of more food and water once they ran out. Well somehow, they came in contact with other dogs, attacking them. Their case of rabies must've been more hardcore, they turned to that of a cannibal. Whatever dog escaped their attacks, would have a great chance of receiving the disease. Soon, the rabid dogs began to mate one another, and it happened to be that the rabies became genetic within their offspring.

Animal control began to take care of the issue, only, they couldn't keep up with the spreading of the disease. And later on, not only were the rabid dogs attacking non-rabid dogs, but were also attacking people.

Then, in a years time, the disease populated most of the dogs in the world. Crazy right? It gets crazier. These dogs began killing off the human population. They traveled in packs, and it was extremely difficult to escape their attacks. The once man's best friend was now man's worst enemy, and was a killing machine.

Then, people like the SWAT team joined in. Not exactly sure of what they call them. But, they're after all the canines, killing each and every one they see. Even if they are not rabid, which are few, they kill them anyway. Can't take any chances.

The few non-rabid dogs are on the run, desperate to get to a safe place, and maybe re populate the canine species with a clean line, clear of this mad rabies case.[/fancypost]

Her lips curved into a smile, and softly ran her fingers through her hair. Typical Carson move, whenever she got nervous around a cute guy. He was kind of flirty, she decided. She bit her lip, and then said, "Oh it's okay." And she didn't take notice to introduce herself, taking it that obviously he had to know her in order to want to talk to her.

Oh yeah, what did he need her for? She glanced at his friends with her green eyes, and then raised an eyebrow. "Um, what did you need to talk to me about?" She asked. She felt the butterflies flutter again, and she was surprised with her own nervousness. Well, of course she was nervous, she was talking to him. Yeah, Dylan, that one guy that every girl drooled over.

Usually, she makes an effort to stay away from guys like that. She wasn't ever in the mood for girls to start the 'he's mine' drama. But, she knew that she liked him deep down, she had since the being a sophomore in high school, but she never made an effort to know him for his popularity reason.

Yeah but what if he liked her? Would she throw away an opportunity just because a little drama may start up? Well not too many girls liked her anyway for reasons she didn't understand, so maybe it wouldn't be much different.

She smiled again, the butterflies now going crazy. Did Dylan really just ask her that? Since when does he want to hang with her? What if it was a prank or something? Oh, then she would be pissed. She'd go, of course. She wasn't passing this up. But then... doubt entered her mind. What about her curfew? Her dad? Even though she was a senior he would definitely not like the idea of hanging out with a guy alone, especially a bad boy.

Carson, who the heck cares? He's hot, he's nice, and you'll be an idiot to not go.

She shook her head, raising her eyebrow. "Trouble maker." She murmured, still smiling. She tucked the paper into her pocket, and headed home.

"Hey mom? I'm going out." Carson shouted, dropping her bag off in the kitchen. Glancing over to the living room, she noticed her mom was fast asleep. Oh well, at least I can say I told her. She shrugged, grabbed her longboard, and rode it to the skate park.

The rain wasn't normal today. Usually, it would fall in fast, steady beats, slowly soaking my fur as I stood out in it and enjoyed it. It would be nice and clear, safe to lick straight from the air. It would cleanse the earth, as if wishing for it to be white as snow and for all evil to wash down the drain. Sadly, it didn't work like that. And it seemed the rain gave up on cleansing it, for the rain, was noticeably different.

We had a temporary camp in the subway, in the middle of an abandoned city. All cities were abandoned these days, except for the one the remaining humans hid out in and the swat team swarmed and guarded. I had only been there once before, and forgive me for forgetting its location. At the time, I hadn't believed it to be important. Now, I realize knowing the location would be better, for I would know where to stay away from.

Yet, the swat team still set up mini camps here and there, all spread out through the world. Really, there was no way of knowing where they were.

I stood at the top of the subway stairs, feeling the rain, watching it, and wondering. It was no longer clear, no, it was gray. And it wasn't fast, steady beats, it was pouring down in a messy hurry, as if there was a giant bucket spilling everywhere.

It stung my eyes, unlike that of the old rain. It was like earth had all the filthy water that she collected from cleansing the earth, and as if she was angry, she had poured it back all over us. One other noticeable difference, it began to collect for on the ground as usual.

Meaning, the water was ankle deep. Oh, I knew what was happening, and I definitely knew it wasn't good.

"Zodiac!" I barked down into the subway. "Zodiac!" I called again, and then waited for him to emerge.

I growled to myself. This wasn't good. I needed to take a scout with me to go scout out a route out of this city... we had to get out before the city flooded. The water only got higher.

As I waited for Zodiac, I also called for Sparrow, and Pepper. I also needed a skilled fighter. Lastly, I called for Evangeline. "Rapido you mutts!" I barked shortly after, this time a little jokingly.

I'd take Ollie with me... but I decided I'd leave him back with Zodiac and Ahasian. I was going to have them gather things up before we left. Leaving Zodiac behind was a strategy I learned from my father, who unfortunately was killed by a human. I was the second at the time and he left me home at camp. By leaving Zodiac, if something were to happen to me, he would take up my role.

"You guessed it Pepper." I sighed, frustration welling in my chest. I turned my gaze to where the water began to pool and quietly waterfall down the steps into the subway. Looking to Zodiac, I said, "Not long."

Thinking harder, I scratched my original plan. Leaving the other three here with the water growing higher, faster, meant trouble. They could easily drown in the subway, and things were only getting worse out here.

"Never mind." I said, even though they hadn't known my original plan. "We're going to travel in single file. I will lead, Sparrow you will follow behind me, then Ollie, Ahasian, Pepper, Zodiac you take up the rear. Do not, by all means, let anyone fall behind. Are we understood?" I asked.

I didn't really wait for their reply, but noticed the water now knee deep, and I howled for Ahasian and Ollie to come join us. Making my voice louder and straining for it to be above the rain, I shouted. "We leave now! Move quickly!"
