Springstar turned to Duskmoon as she finished her mouse. "I was thinking of a hunting patrol with Vaporpaw and Flarepaw. Do you agree?"

"OK then, let's go get them." Springstar walked over to the apprentice's den, Duskmoon in tow, and pushed her head through the opening. "Flarepaw, Vaporpaw, time to get up for the morning hunting patrol."

Springstar walked out of the camp and into the forest. "We'll have a competition today. Whoever catches the most prey by the afternoon will get promoted to a warrior sooner than normal, and that doesn't mean in the next few days. You won't see, but we'll be watching incase something happens to you, and to see how good you've done. Ready?"

Silverwing, the medicine cat, padded into the nursery with Borage leaves and Chamomile in her jaws. She set them down in front of Cloudsky and meowed, "It's best if you eat these before you kit."
