Springstar walked out of her den and heard Parrothawk's warning. "Loners?" she asked. She immediately felt annoyance. Their clan didn't have time to deal with a bunch of other cats. ArcticClan could attack them any second. 'We'll have to drive them out,' Springstar thought. "Parrothawk, you, Heronstrike, Heathercloud, Threadshock, and I will drive them out. Go and get the others and meet me at the entrance." Springstar padded to the entrance, waiting.

Heathercould, who was close enough to hear, sat up and mewed, "I'm on it." She padded over to wait by Springstar. "Loners at a time like this, huh?" she mewed to Springstar.

    "Apparently so," Springstar mewed.

OOC: OK, since we have an upcoming battle with ArcticClan, if there is something that you want to do, like having a group of loners come into the territory for instance, then please inform me. We'll be able to do it at another time. I know you probably think that there's nothing to do, but things like prophecies or anything else that involves or effects the whole clan, please let me know before you do it, because if we have casualties, there's a chance that we won't win this war, especially since Longstar is back... I'm just trying to be realistic.

"There are other ways that you can serve your clan," Mudbranch mewed. "Me for instance. I don't fight, yet I contribute to the clan in an important way, by healing. I don't have an apprentice. If you want, when you're older, you can be my apprentice."

"Really?" Springstar mewed, not believing the loners for a second. "I never saw you at the battle."

    OOC: Remember? It was epic!

IC: Threadshock smelt the scent of new cats and came out of the den. His claws slid out and he growled, "Let's get rid of these guys," when he heard what the red one said. "We don't need your help."

"Springstar, we have no idea who they are," Heathercloud whispered to her leader. "There's a chance that they can be spies that might attack once we take them in. Why else would they know Longstar? We've never even seen them before."

Springstar narrowed her eyes in consideration. Heathercloud did have a point. But what if they really were there to help? "We'll let the clan decide," she finally mewed. "Until then, you will be surrounded with warriors at all times." As if on cue, Threadshock and Heathercloud got on either side of the group. So did Heronstrike, once he came out and realized what was going on. Springstar led them to the front of the highbranch, and jumped on it, then yowled, "Cats of TropicClan, gather around!"

Redwood and Stemshower were both surprised when they came out of their dens and saw the loners. They approached with caution.

"What is this all about?" Redwood asked, raising his voice for everyone to hear. "We don't have time to house another bunch of outsiders."

"I wasn't talking to you!" Heathercloud growled at the she-cat. "And as for your kits-"

    "Everyone, settle down!" Springstar mewed.

"Settle down? We can't settle down, not with another group of cats throwing themselves at us!" Threadshock mewed.

"I'm afraid he's right," Redwood mewed. "Though it is greenleaf, with so many cats, we may over hunt or over harvest the herbs to support the clan. But," Redwood mewed before Springstar could say something, "if they stay, it cannot be permanent. We have to think about the future, and during leaf-bare, there's a slim chance not all of us will survive."

Springstar's eyes narrowed, but she thought about Redwood's logic.

Stemshower took a look at the group of cats and nodded. "He's right. I say they stay, but only for a short while."

After a few more moments, Springstar mewed to Twist, "You said that you came back to help us with the battle. That is all you will do. If the clan chooses to have you stay, you and your group will be taken care of. However, as soon as the battle is over and you have recovered, you must go. Now, does the clan agree to this?"

Heronstrike, Grassblade, Stemshower, and Redwood either mewed a yes or nodded their heads. Heathercloud and Threadshock simply kept silent.

Heronstrike went to stand by his mate.

Silentnight quickly woke up from her nap and trotted out of the warrior's den towards Blackshine.

"You know," Silentnight mewed, "I think that all this fighting is really unnecessary."

"You just woke up and those are the first words out of your mouth?" Blackshine asked. Silentnight scowled irritably.

    "I'm serious."

"So am I. If you don't like this fighting so much, then how about you tell Riddlestar. I'm not the leader, after all." Silentnight hesitated and sighed, sitting.

    "It was just an opinion."

"Mmm. Of course it was. Every cat has a right to voice their opinions."

    "You seem awfully wise-sounding today."

"I do?" Blackshine looked at her in confusion. Silentnight just chuckled and started to groom herself.

Springstar saw how most of her clan was ready to except the newcomers, but not all of them were. There was going to be some tension here, but the decision was made. "You can stay," she mewed to Twist and the group. She jumped down from the highbranch and stood in front of Twist. "I need to talk to you. Is that OK?"

"I can't believe this!" Threadshock hissed. "A bunch of loners are being let into our camp!"

"Tell me about it," Heathercloud mewed to him. She trotted to the warrior's den, mewing, "I'll be glad when they leave."

"Heathercloud," Grassblade mewed to her sister. He followed her into the den, intent on talking to her.

Redwood padded up to the group. "I'll show you where you can sleep for tonight. This way is the nursery, for queens and kits, over there is the apprentice and warrior's den. There's the fresh-kill pile and the apprentice's den, and the medicine den if you're sick or injured. If there are elders, there's the elder's den. Any questions?"

"Let's get back to camp," Darkshadow mewed to Flurrypaw. She stood up and headed for the camp.

"Let's get back to camp," Lightspirit mewed, "but let's not tell anyone about what we did, OK?"

Longstar mewed to Fangshard, "That's enough for today. Let's get to sleep." Fangshard nodded, panting. He wobbled towards and into the warrior's den and flopped down on his nest, exhausted.

Longstar went to stand a little ways away from the warrior's den.

Pricklepaw and Pondfrog entered camp with herbs in their jaws. They nodded to their leader and went into the medicine cat den, where they put the herbs up and went to their nests to sleep.

"I'm sure they are," Springstar mewed as she sat down. "We need to talk about when you're going to leave after the battle. I didn't mean for it to sound heartless, but even though my clan has agreed, they are still not trusting, and some of them don't like you and the group at all. After the battle, and before, we will allow you to wander our territory and give you protection. However, if you leave our territory, you will no longer have our protection. If you really want to fight, then you have no reason to leave. Do you understand?"
