"Shhh...." Rainfall murmered. "It's going to run away if you keep making noise!" I nodded my head and stopped stepping on dry leaves and kicking rocks. "Now," my mentor had begun, "what have I told you to do when there is prey in sight?"
Hmmm... I think, remembering my first training with Rainfall. "Hunters crouch."

~CreamPaw~ "Shhh...." Rainfall murmered.
"Um.. okay. Demonstrate for me."
I obey immediantly and do the best crouch I can, which still isnt close compared to hers.
"Could use some work. Don't be afraid to get a little lower, and your tail is high. Predators and prey could spot as easily as a cat in a small pond," Rainfall instructed.
Again, I do as she says.
"Wonderful!" she cried, not loud enough to scare the mouse just ahead, nibbling on a piece of bark.
I begin to stalk forward without permission. I'm still on my first few training sessions, so my mentor doesn't expect as much, but when I fling myself at the mouse and trap it in my paws, she looks impressed.
-
~Creampaw~ Training was over and at the end I only had cought one mouse. I skip the fresh-kill pile and head to the elders den, thinking what Moonstar would do if she and her fellow apprentances let them starve. "Ahh, about time someone has brought us food!" One elder cranked. "Oh shush up. You're always hungry. And thank you Creampaw. It looks delicouse." a she-cat had meowed.
"It's freshly cought, too," I add.
-
~Creampaw~ I walk out of the elders den and start scanning through the camp in search for my brother, Tigerpaw. He's probably out hunting... I think jelously. Only because he was picked for hunting patrol and not me. Just because of his amazing catch with that vole that everycat happend to see, doesn't prove anything. But I'm pretty sure thats not the reason he is on patrol... "Creeeammmmmpaaww!!" a loud squeal came from across camp. I turn my head to find Windpaw padding up to me.
"Hey Windpaw!" I greet him.
"How's it going? I just came back from a long hunt with Bluestorm."
Bluestorm is his mentor, I know that. I practically know everything about him, he's nice, talented, a great hunter, and ecpecially he's brave. He also was born in ForestClan, where Tigerpaw and I have travled here, and we were welcomed gratefully.
-
"Yeah, me the same, well... kindof. We were practicing battle moves and redoing the hunter's crouch," I reply.
"Hah, hunter's crouch is the most simplest thing ever! Need help with it?" Windpaw purred.
"Nahh... I'm not bad at it, I'm nuetral. You're the expert on hunting of all the apprentances!" I complemented.
He gave me a quick smile before saying, "Alright, Creampaw. I'll see you later. I'm going to do some elders chours."
"I'll help you!!" I meowed immediatly and loudly.
Windpaw looked from side to side. "Okay then," he said with a giggle.
He started out the camp, and I trotted quickly besides him, keeping an eye out for fresh moss.
-
I walked quietly through the forest until I found the greeness and plushness on a tree. I raked it down with my claws, unsure of the method to get moss. I roll it into a ball and turn around to look for more, but what I don't find is Windpaw.
"Windpaw?" I ask the trees around me. Must've wandered off...
I continue finding and collecting moss until Windpaw's absense really starts to worry me. He usually sticks with the herd.
I remind myself that worrying wont do anything, and they usually turn up later. So I just head back to camp. On the way I pick up a sent of fresh of vole and follow it carefully. I leap, it tries to scurry away, but I barley catch it by the tail and toss it in the air. I giggle as the body goes limp and I carry it in my mouth, along with the moss balls.
"Boo!!!"
I spit the mouse and moss out of my mouth instantly and turn around, unsheath my claws and look on. Windpaw.
"Ohhh I got you!"
"Did not!"
"Don't regret it. You thought I was an enemy!" Windpaw laughed so hard he fell back.
I rolled my eyes and leaped up and pounced on him playfully. I pinned him down easily because he was so weak from laughing. "What's so funny?" I ask, smiling.
-
Windpaw had finally recovored from his laugh-attack and rolled over, now he was pinning me down. "Hey!" I giggle, pawing his chest, claws sheathed now. He got off and shook his fur. Windpaw retreived the vole and the moss balls I had dropped. "Did you get any moss?" I ask.
"Yeah. I already dropped it off at the camp. I'll be making the elder's beds like you," He replied quickly.
We headed back at camp and I dropped off my vole at the Queens den. Watching them take it gratefully reminded me how hungry I was. I decided to eat after chores, which went by quickly. Windpaw ended up eating with me. We shared a bird and talked for a while, then he had to go out on another training session with Bluestorm.
I got up, put the bones away, and went to the apprentances den to relax. Today was a fun day so far. I had never spent that much time with Windpaw in a day, and he never looked so interested into what I have to say, and into me.
-
~Moonstar~ Moonstar entered the camp with a plump bird in his jaws. Behind him was Whitefang and Fawnheart, who were also carrying prey. The ForestClan leader looked around for his loyal deputy, Leaffall. Atlast, he spotted him and trotted over.
~Windpaw~ When Windpaw had entered camp again, he was greeted by Creampaw. He nodded a hello, then looked around for a different cat. Maybe she's in the apprentinces den...~Creampaw~ I look across the camp and find Windpaw searching around our den. I shouldn't be in his business, but who is he looking for?
-
Moonstar looked in Leaffall's eyes. "I must talk to you.." He said gravely. "Folow me." Moonstar turned to his den, not looking back.
-
Moonstar entered his den and sat down, wrapping his tail around himself. "Well, Leaffall. My patrol picked up a fox-scent down by Rushing Water (river that seperates IceClan from ForestClan). You must repeadiatly remind our apprentneces that they are not allowed down there," he continued, "not only that but signs of SunClan by Tanning Rocks (flat rocks west from camp, small open area, wanted by SunClan, west from our camp) have been brought to my notice. Make sure all cats have it noticed, too. Pick strong warriors to go patrol by Rushing Water, and I will come aswell. Then I need a group at Tanning Rocks, to make sure SunClan knows thats our territory..." He began a low growl, then softend up. "Thank you. You may proceed." Moonstar straightend up and walked outside to spread some news to the warriors.
-
Windpaw looked around once more. Where was she?
No one would know who he was takling about, but probably no one cared.
Creampaw did a surprise attack on Windpaw, and pawed his back, flopping him on the ground. "Haha, who's laughing now!" She purred. The tom got up and shook. "Not right now, Creampaw. I'm looking for someone... but I cant tell where she-" he corrected himself, "-they are...."
"Why don't you want me to know she's a she?" the she-cat asked, not really showing intrest.
"Why? Because nothing..." He purred.
"Okay then. I'm going to get a sip of water at the pond. Wanna come?" Creampaw asked.
-
~Creampaw~ "Huh?" I wonder, looking back. Windpaw started going towards Leaffall. "Oh those fools! Who'd be mouse-brained enough to think they'll cross our border without a scratch right on the neck?" The apprentance growled. I stepped back. [i]Wow. He can get mad.[i]
-
Cloudface got up from her meal. "Yes, Leaffall. They are on our territory....?" She asked.
-
~Creampaw~ "Yeah," I joined in, "wait till I get my paws on those dirty rats, and teach them a lesson!"
-
Cloudface was on Leaffall's paws, and I was struggling to keep up. Windpaw waited for me sometimes, but we found ourselves getting farther from the warriors. An invasion!
~Windpaw~ Finally, even though Creampaw was not the swiftest cat, she had cought up.
"Where are those rats?" Windpaw snarled.
-
Flickerkit rested beside her mother with a peaceful daydream. It was of all the fresh kill one cat could imagine, and best of all it was surrounded by soft, puffy moss to lay on. She jumped apon a moss ball, and it bounced her back up and she landed on the infiinate amount of mice below her tiny paws. "Flickerkit..." Jaypool whispered to her young kit.
