[fancypost borderwidth=0]minipowerplaying? i've never heard of that before. ;w;

but there is such thing as minimodding, which is when you tell someone he/she has broken a rule as opposed to or alongside reporting the rule break to staff.

"Someone looks lonely," hummed Adrienne pleasantly. The large blue lynx point grinned at Minae as he emerged fully, pale blue eyes glinting. Unlike Minae, Adri was bred and born a loner, only joining the Elite when news of his sister Liesel and brother Toxic came around. As such, he had much more to prove to the members of the Elite. In him was the desire to befriend (and eventually manipulate) everyone he met, putting him as a stark contrast to the femme he was currently talking to.

"I don't think I've seen you around before. Then again, I'm not exactly the most observant cats in the world." The pale tom lifted his shoulders in a slight shrug. "I'm Adri. What's your name?"

    [/fancypost]

[fancypost borderwidth=0]er, what do you mean by the detail?

if it's an advanced thread and you are the creator, you're allowed to create rules that posters need to follow, and i think you can report people who aren't advanced. you can also ban members from your threads if you'd like to.

More than a year fending for himself had left Adrienne with caution and observation skills that matched and even surpassed his Elite peers. Pale eyes wary, the pointed tomcat swept his gaze in a full circle; though he didn't spot anything out of the ordinary, he could feel that there was someone accompanying them. When he tasted the air, however, there was nothing out of the ordinary. The tom resolved to be vigilant but not aggressive as he turned his attention back to Minea.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Minea," Adri meowed earnestly. "It's a real shame that others haven't noticed you - we all live under the same roof, after all. We might as well know each other."[/fancypost]

[fancypost borderwidth=0]good! now, let's continue where we left off.

    STEP THREE

uncheck the box by the background (top) layer. now, the bottom layer should be highlighted. then, click the recolor button in the tools box. adjust the brush width to something big enough to easily color the world you have.

    STEP FOUR

in the colors box, click the more button. near the top left corner, there should be two diagonal boxes: the top one black, the bottom one white. there should be an arrow connecting the two. click that arrow. then, click the top box and select the color you want your glow to be (i picked light blue). the screenshot shows the result.

    STEP FIVE

take your recolor brush, click and drag along your text, turning it the color you wanted.

    STEP SIX

go to effects --> blurs --> gaussian blur. i recommend using a radius of two or three. once you select the radius, click OK.

    STEP SEVEN

now, recheck the background (top) layer in the layers box. then, click on the background (bottom) layer again to highlight it. click on the duplicate layer button a few times to strengthen the glow.

    STEP EIGHT

lastly, go to image --> flatten. this will merge all your layers so your banner can be saved as a .png file.*

    annnnd here's the finished product!

    * a note about saving: .pdn files (the default file paint.net will save it is) is NOT compatible with uploading services like tinypic or imageshack. in addition, saving as other file types besides .png will get rid of your transparent background, making the background white. therefore, saving your banner as a .png file is your best bet.

let me know if you have any questions!
    [/fancypost]

[fancypost borderwidth=0]yup, that looks good! it should be noted that the base color doesn't have to be black - it can be any color, as long as when you switch the primary and secondary colors with the arrow, the original color you used is on the bottom. for example, if your text was lime green, when you switched the colors the color on the bottom should be lime green.

also, instead of attaching your images to your posts, i'd suggest uploading them onto the web with websites like tinypic, photobucket, or imageshack. i've used all three before, and they all have their advantages and disadvantages. i personally like imageshack the most, but you have to make an account to use it.

i'm going to start a tutorial on gradients soon, probably tomorrow or monday, so be prepared for that. (: and then let me know if there's anything else you want to learn.[/fancypost]

[fancypost borderwidth=0]i found it awhile ago and i thought it was a really cool concept, but it was harder for me to maneuver around all my pms (which puts me in the minority, i think). i just got impatient with the different "threads" for all the conversations. i actually prefer scrolling through my messages to find the old ones - but i suppose that only works because i don't get many of them to begin with.

    [/fancypost]

[fancypost borderwidth=0]conveniently, many of my characters are in the same group as yours, so there's no specific character i want to roleplay/roleplay with. c:

    in windclan:
+ baccaratkit, who's obsessed with chances and superstition. he's half-deaf, and he needs some friends, a future mentor, and enemies/cats to be jealous of.
+ capedkit, who's morbid and coldly logical. he's a lot like blacktwist, the old deputy, except a bit less extreme. needs friends, a future mentor, and enemies.
+ scarletstudy, who's basically mycroft from the bbc show sherlock (if you watch that). basically, brilliant but lazy and a complete bureaucrat.

    in bloodclan:
+ brooklynne, a rude and snappy apprentice. i need to develop her more.

    in shadowclan:
+ daykit, your average shadowclanner. the only thing that really sets him apart is that he's a fatalist, which means that he's basically the epitome of passivity. he believes that everything happens for a reason, so he doesn't have any motivation, basically.
    [/fancypost]

    [fancypost borderwidth=0]

Scar concentrated as hard as he could on the apprentice, squinting his eyes, but he just couldn't see anything that set Dilusionalpaw's crouch apart from his - yet Dilu's was obviously successful, and his wasn't. Humming softly to himself and chewing the inside of his cheek- two relatively discreet idiosyncrasies the warrior entertained and most went overlooked- Scarletstudy tried to concentrate harder as he dropped down to imitate. His balance wasn't exactly superb; contrarily, the red tom leaned forward too much. As such, it was more difficult to react quickly and still remain silent and graceful when prompted.

"Usually I just skip the crouch and try to ambush the prey instead. It works where there's a lot of cover, but I guess WindClan isn't the best place for that, huh? I just can't react quickly enough when I'm trying to crouch down and stalk something," he confessed sheepishly.[/fancypost]

    [fancypost borderwidth=0]

A grudging smile of admiration slunk its way across Day's face; Turningpaw certainly wasn't playing cliches either, and he admired that. She wasn't the doe-eyed, blushing apprentice that he remembered and liked, but at least she was consistent toward him. Day's biggest pet peeve was when cats swung from warm to frigid, accepting to positively xenophobic. Day was honest about his feelings, and he expected others to be the same.

"Wait up!" the gray-and-white tom called out, trotting up to catch up with her. He wasn't the most muscular or athletic tom around, but his tenacity enabled him to keep in stride with the other apprentice anyway. "If you want to ditch me, all you have to do is say so," Daypaw added, sounding tentatively amused.

ooc | sure! i did start charging a small amount of freshkill though, as kind of a precaution. pm me~[/fancypost]

[fancypost borderwidth=0]there are no more rules about this - in essence, the language item in the store is free now. (:

    [/fancypost]

[fancypost borderwidth=0]frenchie, i can't really say that i knew you, but i feel really sorry that i didn't get to know you better. you seemed like one of the most active, friendliest members on the site and i really loved your characters.

    good luck with everything!

Miasma went as abruptly and quickly as she had arrived, not even bothering to dip past the surface. She said to get to know other cats better, but she didn't even bother to do it herself. 'Perhaps I'll meet her again, sometime,' Adrienne mused clinically. Although his thoughts had been critical, the point didn't bear any lasting ill will toward the femme. She seemed to be easily bored, was all. That was the problem with most cats: they were transient. They often overlooked the minute details, which was both exasperating and convenient; Adri often felt like he was on a different wavelength from other felines, but he also enjoyed the luxury of occasionally being one step ahead. But, as Mia dwindled from the tomcat's version, he turned his attention back to Minae.

"But I haven't been hiding or anything..." That was a dead giveaway that there was something that didn't add up. Still, Adri feigned ignorance as he watched the femme with his pale eyes. "Well, we can start fixing that now," the tom offered cheerfully, giving her a toothy grin. "What do you like to do? Would you like to go on a hunt with me?"

    'What are you hiding?'

ooc | яєѕѕєѕρєι¢єѕ, just to get things clear, is your character named minae or minea? i feel bad for just switching back and forth. ;w;[/fancypost]

[fancypost borderwidth=0]just go to the top right corner of your post and click the modify button - the third button that looks like a pencil writing on paper. then, on the top line below subject, you can change your thread title.

    hope this helps!

Forevergone and Scarredheart were already distinguished for their skills with their positions; it was certainly logical that they had been chosen. For the same reason, the red tabby assumed that Discord would be a shoo-in as well. Still, that left two spots open, and a bunch of eager warriors vying for them. Including him.

To his chagrin, Scarletstudy didn't know Gravelstar personally; he'd certainly be set up for failure if she chose on a whim. As such, it was with trepidation and determination that the tabby suggested, "Perhaps we should hold tryouts of sorts? Or auditions? It would be a fair way to decide the rest of the team."[/fancypost]

[fancypost borderwidth=0]oh! yeah, i forgot to mention that - you need to change the title in your very first post. the existing posts may not have the same name, but the posts made after the change will.

    and no problem. :]
