Paradisefalls wasn't in his den. As night drew near often an elder or two would complain about their aches to him. So he'd made a habit of it to check on them before he checked out for the night. He padded back into his den now after having seen to them and replaced the herbs he hadn't needed on their shelves which were less full than he would've hoped for. He smiled at Homepaw when he spotted her though it didn't matter really as she couldn't see it. But who said you couldn't talk to the star just because they couldn't talk back?

The white medicine cat padded over to her and yawned, he'd had a long day. An apprentice had broken his tail trying to show off and made quite a fuss when he had fixed it up. He was sure Homepaw had heard his pawsteps when he'd come in so he didn't worry about surprising her by accident. "Evening Homepaw," he said yawning again.

Paradisefalls nodded and didn't speak for a moment lost in thought. It would take him some getting used to calling her Sorrelpaw instead of kit. "Almost. Winter will be here before we know it. Since your a full apprentice now Sorrelpaw I'll need your help gathering as many herbs as we can. When we are gone doing that Indencre you'll need to look after the den," he said. He knew the med cat apprentice couldn't make the trip to get herbs but equally important was making sure the clan had someone here when they needed it. "I'd like to work on gathering the herbs starting tomorrow morning," he said.

Paradisefalls nodded. "Well that's good but you should talk to Popstar, you can't learn everything you need to without a mentor. And sure Sorrelpaw you can come," he said. He looked thoughtful before answering Incendre. "Just to the meadow nearest camp. There are some marigolds that would be good to stock up on."

Paradisefalls continued to gather bark as well after managing to tear off branches from the bush. The leak in the den wasn't too big, but with plenty of bark they could sort of tile a roof so the water would just run off instead of leak in. "I think that's about all we'll need at least for now," he said gathering up the branches and headed back to camp. It would take them at least one more trip to get all the bark brought back.

Paradisefalls' usually happy demeanor was grim when the other medicine cat spoke. "Nineteenseventy supplied me with some of your herbs," he explained. "Yes we do, right now only one kit is sick but you know how fast it can spread. Normally we'd be alright but all my herbs were ruined from a leak in my den. I am exhausted it's a long trip here, if you are sure, I really would appreciate the help. By the time I get back I wouldn't be surprised if the green cough had spread."

Paradisefalls had gotten little sleep the past few nights, he kept having nightmares of everyone in the clan dying and being unable to save them. He yawned as he padded near the border looking for--what was he looking for? Being tired it was hard to remember and keep it all straight, surely he'd remember what it was he'd come to get right? He had a wad of cobwebs on his tail that he'd collected but for the life of him he couldn't figure out what the herb he was supposed to get. He sat down to contemplate it hoping to remember. Lost in thought he didn't see the injured cat nor virgo though he was in plain sight of them.

Paradisfalls was surprised to have her address him like that. She had never done so before nor had his own kits refereed to him with that term. After the initial shock he chuckled. "How was your day?" he said. He would always make time for his kits adopted or blood no matter how tired he was. He had walked over and sat down near her after licking her ear in greeting.

Paradisefalls was surprised by Virgo having not noticed her before. "Huh, oh were is-" he started to say when he spotted the loner not far off. He shook himself as though trying to bring himself back to focus on the present and padded over to the loner. "I'm Paradisefalls'," he said. Seeing the bleeding he took a few cobwebs from his tail and pressed them on her injuries to staunch the bleeding. His white paws slowly turning red from it.

    [what exactly are her injuries?]

Paradisefalls stayed quiet for a minute before answering. "If you are sure your up to coming you are welcome to come with us," he said to Indencre. With his apprentice's disability he wasn't sure how far would be too far for him to venture from camp. But he wouldn't say no if Indencre felt he could handle it.

Paradisefalls flicked his tail to guide her gaze back. He seemed to have picked up on the subtle guesture. "I'm sorry Homepaw. I'm not upset it's just none of my kits have ever called me that before. You just caught me off guard is all," he explained his voice sincere.

"It's been quite busy lately. It seems greencough is spreading around the clan and it isn't even leaf bare yet," he said.

At Icewhisker's summon Paradisefalls padded out of his den, his white fur having been freshly washed. He went straight for the warrior's den. It wasn't hard to spot the ill dog as a few other were gathered around. He sat down near her. "Do you think you can make it to my den with some help?" he asked. He instantly knew what it was, with everyone catching greencough lately he was quickly becoming an expert and seeing the signs indicating it. He didn't want the dog to stay in this den though and risk spreading it.

Paradisefalls padded into the den with a fresh harvest of catnip. With all the illness going around he had made near daily trips to get the herb. He sighed seeing Emberleaf...not another one. How far would this illness spread? He set down the herbs to be put away later, though at this rate they would be used soon enough. "You alright?" he whispered to Indencre.

"I'll be with you in a moment Emberleaf," he called to the sick cat.

    [thanks]

Paradisefalls smiled and sighed. Not an annoyed sigh just a tired one. "Well I can always use help gathering catnip, lately we've been going through it faster than freshkill," he said. He nuzzled her when she wandered close enough to him then pulled her into an embrace. It was good to have family around, those you trusted and could confide in.

Paradisefalls smiled wearily at Homepaw. "After I get something to eat, I haven't eaten all day treating everyone with greencough. It will be dark soon but that will make it easier. I get the catmint from twoleg gardens," he said. "Would you mind bring me something to eat? anything is fine." He was so tired but he couldn't not go get catmint tonight, they needed more.
