I've got a collection of Webkinz critters that I create into characters. I'll try to do that, but the thing is, I thought that they knew serviceable. I thought it was only when I tossed out obviously hard words that they didn't understand me. When I answered a question as "serviceable" though, everyone just looked at me, and it was utterly quiet for a moment and then our teacher said all right and we continued. Afterwards, a student asked me what I meant when I said "serviceable" and I was in shock. I asked her if she didn't know what it meant to make sure.
