WHY is Echokit so angry at Falconpaw??

Boulderfur stepped away from Echokit, alarmed. The kit was acting.....different. Not the happy, innocent little ball of fur she was moments ago. "E-echokit...?" She stammered, "W-would you like to be alone for a while?" She whispered softly.

Opalstar gritted her teeth. "I know that, Brackenpaw. I just thought that by the time Shadowpaw could get out of the fire range and back, it would be to late. But, oh, look, I guess I'm wrong." She hissed slowly, noticing Shadowpaw race back into the camp. "Okay, shadowpaw. Lay those cobwebs right on Soulfire'a wound. We'll help when we get back." Opalstar turned back to Spottedheart and grasped her scruff once more, dragging her a few feet and not looking Brackenpaw in the eye.

Errr..ahem.....I don't think anyone answered my post.....

Rain's intense blue eyes widened as she saw the little kit stagger into camp, followed closely by Dragon. She gaped awestruck as the kit was herded into the nursery. Shaking off her trance, Rain raced across the clearing and squeezed into the nursery, her eyes immediately trained on the little kit snuggled next to Midnightbreeze. "Oh, she's adorable!" She gasped, "Or is it a he? Where did you find it? What's it's name? How old? Will it stay here?" She fired questions at at no one in particular.

I dunno, have i been added to the list? (I could check. But meh too lazy ;D ;) :) )

Nightkit giggled and stopped for a moment to lick the base of his tail where he had an itch. When he looked up again, Blossomkit was gone. He swung his head around in confusion, and then broke out into a grin. "You can't hide forever!" He yowled playfully, "Because I am Nightstorm, the best tracker in the clan. I will sniff you out!" He snarled and pressed his nose to the ground, trying to get a trace of Blossomkit's scent.

Poppyfrost purred, flicking Windstreak with her tail. "'Lookit that! What's become of this clan? They're all turning into lazy groundhogs." She snorted. "Yep, they sure know where their priorities are." Poppybreeze turned to Midnightsky, only recently noticing his presence. "Oh... of course. We can't have every cat in the clan chasing coyotes. We need to restock the pile. Well then, you go ahead and hunt with weathercloud." She flashed a smile and got to her paws, meowing to Windstreak, "Okay, now how 'bout we go fetch our patrol cats, eh? That is, if they think ridding the territory of dangerous beasts is in fact more productive then hanging out by the warrior's den." She twitched her whiskers and headed toward the cats.

Hey, Sharkstar didn't give permission for them to leave yet! *forgives*

    And there's no ravine...

Oceankit squealed; "Evil! Evil Shark!" She ran to the tree that Reedkit and climbed up. "You can't stay up there forever! I'll get you!" She snarled, clawing her way up the rough trunk. She heaved herself on to the branch where Reedkit was perched and reached for the salmon.

Troutleap watched Ripplestream go sadly. "Well, then..." He meowed to Thunderwave grudgingly, "Let's get training. It's a bit too early for battle training....but we may as well teach them how to hunt. On land," He added. "Of course, traditionally a Pebble's first task was to swim in the ocean successfully. Now, of course, that'll have to be postponed." He gazed at the distant shoreline, loathing for the sharks holding his island captive stronger then ever. "But first, we should grab a bite to eat. You Pebbles need to get your energy up. If you're hungry, I mean."

Moontide sighed. "No, Dolphinpaw needs to train. I can't let her sacrafice that just because I want to stretch my legs." She nuzzled Stormsplash. "Speaking of which, go take her out for a session. For whatever reason, Violetstream has been neglecting Breezepaw. He's way behind the other Pebbles. You don't want that to happen to Dolphinpaw, do you?"

Whirlwind yawned one last time and crawled out of his nest, into the early sunshine. "Gotta train Dawnpaw today...." He mumbled. After a quick grooming he padded up to his Pebble in the clearing. "Ok, Dawnpaw. Time for training." He put his tail on his daughter's shoulder. "Today it's shellfish scavenging. Don't worry- we won't go too near the ocean, and you won't have to swim at all. Not even in the tide pools." He smiled encouragingly.

Sharkstar cleared his throat. "Ahem...um...err...hey! Did I say the patrol was dismissed....?!" He yowled, stammering. But the patrol was already gone. "Next time," He muttered, "They'd better ask me first."

Um, wait, there isn't a river in the territory.... ??? ???

Troutleap shuffled his paws. "Um...what river...?

Moontide nodded vigorously. "Perfect! I'll be waiting for you when you get back." She turned and squeezed out of the den, sitting just outside. She beckoned for Stormsplash to follow. "All the kits are out here," She purred. "No use in huddling in the nursery."

Oceankit squeaked in surprise as Reedkit dodged and ran off. She tensed her hind legs to dash after him, and then noticed how high she was. She began to cry, thorn-sharp claws digging deep into the bark as she clung on in terror. "Mama!," She wailed, "I-I'm stuck! Help me! Mamaaaaaa!"

Whirlwind purred, "Good. Then follow me." He got up and started to pad towards the camp entrance. He stopped as he passed Sharkstar. "I'm just going out to train Dawnpaw," He told the leader.

Sharkstar nodded. "Good. Thank you for telling me. At least some cats have the sense to tell me when they exit the camp. What if there was attack, and we didn't know where you were? What if a cat was attacked by a shark outside of camp, and we never knew what happened to them? What if...." He walked off, still meowing.

I don't take it the wrong way! There's not many nicknames you can make out of Deniz, but I'm telling my friends to start calling me Denny now. You can use Denny if u want.

ooc: Oh...that? I thought that was just a random little stream. No real rivers on the island.

Troutleap stared back at Thunderwave, whiskers twitching. "Oh yes....but I wouldn't call that a river. Just one of the streams." He shrugged. "Anyway, it doesn't matter. Let's go find something to eat and then we can swim in any body of water we can find. Besides the ocean of course. Come on, Coralpaw." He got to his paws and padded to the freshkill pile, picking out a scrawny minnow and gulping it up quickly.

Moontide's eyes widened. "Oh dear! Hold on, Oceankit! I'm coming!" She raced to the tree where Oceankit was, practically flying.

    Oceankit whimpered, "Mama! Heeellllp meeeee!"

Whirlwing chuckled and thought for a moment. "We'll find a brook," He meowed. "Freshwater mussels aren't the best, but they'll do. And the snails aren't that bad, mind you, besides what you might think." He winked. "We only go for shellfish when we're really desperate..." He trailed off, and his face clouded. "This counts as one of those times. Shellfish are hard to get at; later I'll teach you how to the break the shells."

I think she meant that Hannah is a palindrome. See: Hannah, hannaH. Cool, huh?

And yeah, that would be cool! But how would...Shellheart.....come back....to the tribe....exactly? Would she, like, descend from the sky saying, "Hello, Ocheacats of the White-Capped Waves! I have come to join your ranks, and my long-lost sister, Ripplestream! You may ask yourselves, 'why is their a cat in the sky'? And the answer is, I don't know! Things happen! Helllloooo!"

    Yeah...lol.

How about the human washed up on the beach idea? Does anyone thing we should follow it through, or that it's to far-fetched and can't be done but is nice to talk about and pretend we're gonna do it? Hold on- I'm gonna make a poll....

    HELLLOOOOOOO?

Opalstar tugged harder at Spottedheart's scruff, managing to get her closer to the camp entrance. It wasn't far now...

Boulderfur stared after Echokit anxiously. Echokit had changed, so fast! She hoped his negative mood would wear off soon, so he could become a happy, bouncy kit again. She looked around for Falconpaw. She saw her with Doveheart a short distance away, and padded up to them. "Hello, Falconpaw," he meowed, whiskers twitching, "Taking a nap with the kits, eh?"

LOL! There's this woman at the media center called Billie. That really confused me at first. And then there are the Bobby girls. Then there's this girl named Sam...

Thanks you for luffling my new account, F a n t a s y! You could just call meh Journey. None of that spacy-wacy stuff!

Whirlwind chuckled. "Ok, ok, hold on! Let these creaky old joints warm up to walking before I can even get close to your pace. You can go along infront of me, if your so anxious to be moving. We're going up there-" he flicked his tail up the beach to where a small stream trickled from the forest, spread in a delta shape across the sand and joined the ocean.

Moontide stretched her neck and took Oceankit's scruff in her mouth, lucking her daughter off the branch and setting her down. She licked her sternly yet lovingly. "Don't get up places you can't get down," He meowed sternly.

Oceankit nodded, still shaking. "I know! Th-thanks for getting me down, mama. Now, where's Reedkit?" She looked around, eyes narrowed, then dashed off. "I know your somewhere, Reedkit, you evil shark! Show yourself, and surrender the fishy!" She yowled. Then she saw Sandkit. "Sandkit!" She squealed in delight, dashing to her sister. "Help me find Reedkit! HE"S EVIL!" She bared her teeth.

Troutleap finished off his meal. "Okay, Coralpaw," he meowed to his Pebble, "Are you ready to train?"

Ya I like your fancy post!

Dark Shadows, are you keeping the orangutang in your house...?

Opalstar narrowed her eyes at the quarreling cats. "Enough!" She spat, "Soulfire, I can't believe you'd look for a fight in the middle of a raging fire, and in your condition! Brackenpaw, don't let her get you involved. Besides, I thought you were going to help me move your mentor," She growled, panting. "We're not leaving Soulfire here to die, no, if that's what your worried about. But right now it's Spottedheart who needs your energy, not Soulfire!"

Boulderfur dipped her head. "Of course, noble warrior. I respect your loyalty." she licked her apprentice on the cheek. "Okay, don't nap, but rest at least. Then you can spring into to action if necessary." She mewed, her eyes wandering to where Echokit had disappeared.

    I ADDED A POLL, PEEPS!!!

Whirlwind sighed. "I guess I'm not THAT old, if you say so," He purred. "But, really, I don't know if you're going to be a big sister. Honestly, I doubt it. Maybe in the future. But at the moment, Icestream hasn't told me anything about expecting a new batch!" He chuckled. Whirlwind stopped abruptly. "Well, here we are." He meowed, flicked his tail at the stream just beyond his paws.

Oceankit giggled. "You got that right!" Her gaze scoured the clearing. Finally, they caught the sight of a furry something sticking out from a bush next to the nursery. She nudged Sandkit. "Lookie! See what I see?" she murmured, flicking her tail in the direction of the bush.

Moontide chuckled softly and headed back to the nursery, meowing to Stormsplash, "Well that's done. Now how about that training session?" She drew her tail under his chin.

Troutleap saw the doubt in his Pebble's eyes. "Ah," He murmured. "Don't worry about your paws. If there's something you can't manage to do, then we'll figure out a new way of doing it," He meowed solemnly. "We can even invite Breezepaw to come with us, if that makes you feel better. I know he's helped you get over your....problem, before."

Whoa! that passes the boy line, totally. I wonder how there parents came up with that idea? Maybe they were expecting a boy, and when it wasn't they didn't want to change the name.

My cats just went to the vet! I just loooooove taking them to the vet :)

I dunno where the patrol's goin! But It's still happening. Ripplestream and Wavepaw are probably going to go train, and the rest of the patrol will hunt.

Oceankit pressed herself against the ground, tail trashing, and yowled, "THREE!" She charged forward, not looking back to see if Sandkit was following. Once she was close enough, she launcher herself at the bush, clawing at it madly. Eventually she stopped, panting, and poked her head around the bush. The fuzzy thing that had looked like Reedkit's tail was gone, and there was no Reedkit. "He's gone! Whare is that evil shark now?" She demanded.

Troutleap sighed, "Fine. Today, I'll teach you swimming." He got to his paws and headed out of the camp.
