Icekits adventure

Now, the lilac tabby was nice and didn't feel like alerting the whole nursery about Icekit's whereabouts, so instead, she simply called out in her mind. The she-cat, being telepathic, directed her thoughts towards Icekit. She was getting rather good at controlling her thoughts so her personal opinions weren't broadcasted to the world. "Hey! Little kit! Where'd you run off to?" she mewed mentally.

[fancypost borderwidth= 0px;][justify][font=georgia][sup][color=white]Hylakit gave herself a shake and, still confused, trotted with the she-cat into the tunnel. 'Woah, this is seriously cool!' the she-cat jabbered mentally to the blind she-cat, her sea green eyes wide with wonder.

[fancypost borderwidth= 0px;][justify][font=georgia][sup][color=white]"Oh. Sorry," Hylakit said aloud, following Icekit into the daylight, into the sun.

Hylakit frowned - she was only two moons old, of couse she didn't know how to hunt, or even swim. She'd ask her father for lessons one day, like her brother had. She didn't like her brother being good at something she wasn't. She bested him in almost every known way - or at least in her eyes, she did - aside from wrestling and now swimming, and soon the red tabby tom would probably learn how to fish without her! Hylakit couldn't allow that to happen. "Hey, can you teach me?"

[fancypost borderwidth= 0px;][justify][font=georgia][sup][color=white]A frown flickered across Hylakit's face briefly, though it was quickly masked by a grin. "Thank you! I might have something to rub in my brother's face for once!" Crouching down like she had seen Icekit do, she crept forward. She was light on her feet, though she moved much too sloly - the mouse would hae ran away by then if she had been stalking one. Instead she attempted to stalk a leaf. [b]"How's this?"

Once her little bug friend was found, Hylakit crouched down, mimicing Icekit's hunting crouch and wriggling her haunches before pouncing, paw first, on the beetle. Hooking it up with a paw, she batted it in midair and sent the small black bug flying.

[fancypost borderwidth= 0px;][justify][font=georgia][sup][color=white]Hylakit smiled warmly at the sightless she-cat. She was a bit nervous about her first hunt--would she fail or succeed? The lilac tabby shook away the thought and instead concentrated on locating a mouse. Upon location, she crouched down once again, though the mouse had already gone still, sniffing the air. And so it took off, with the tall she-cat right behind. There was a quick squeal and a triumphant yowl, and before long the slender she-cat reappeared, her eyes shining, a mouse limp in her jaws.

"Thank you for teaching me," the lilac tabby mewed, her eyes full of warmth and gratitude. Wonderful! The she-cat greatly appreciated Icekit's help--her brother would be most surprised when she showed off her new skills, all thanks to the very talented, yet sightless, kit in front of her. Hylakit both admired and wondered how Icekit could be so able, even with the baggage of sightlessness.

[fancypost borderwidth= 0px;][justify][font=georgia][sup][color=white]"I think we shall," HYalkit purred, giving her new friend a smile--the sightless she-cat had certainly earned her way into the lilac tabby's own personal hallf of fame--and so far the only hall-of-famers were members of her family. The she-cat beside the tall femme certainly stood out in her mind--as her teacher and as her friend.

The blackness swallowed up the lilac tabby for a moment, and it took the she-cat several heartbeats before her eyes adjusted. "Thanks for this, Icekit," she mewed, her voice hardly above a whisper, though it carried strong on the faint breeze to Icekit.

[ I'd love another thread with Hylakit and Icekit, if that would be okay. Some time they could hang out a bit. ]
