alright, so sorry for the delay, but now that there's a long weekend and all...
so i guess i'll do my best with this (in all honesty, teaching tabling is what i'm worst at, but since you already know it... hopefully that'll help c)

alright, so you have no idea how to use them... (even though you have an awesome fancypost above with one)--

tables don't always contain fancyposts. any kind of content can be put into a table, from simple text to images, fancyposts, etc.

using tables, we're able to put multiple boxes of content (in our case, fancyposts) side by side. when you use tables, it's always important to account for the fact that anything that's too wide for your posting area gets cut off, so make sure to calculate that in when you make tables.

so there are three parts of a table: the thing that says it's a table and contains everything with the table, table rows (they go across, in contrast to columns, which we don't have a code for), and table data.

the outermost part of your table code is:

nothing can go outside of this table code and still be part of the table.

inside that goes the table rows, abbreviated as tr:

always remember to close everything you open. what i mean by this is that when you have the first half of a code: {tr}, you always need the second half as well {/tr} (close with a back slash).

if you put your table row inside your table, you have this:

finally, you have the innermost part, the table data:

inserted into the table (these always go inside a table row):

notice also that no matter how many lines i put between the table row and table data tags in my code, they don't appear when i put things inside. this is helpful sometimes when trying to keep track of everything (in my opinion the hardest part!)

omygosh..... ... just looked back at this o_o was this too much to take in? hopefully it was made a little easier by the fact that you've used tables before- may have gotten a bit carried away... ! please ask if you want me to break anything down ever.
