I sit on a pine with my leg hanging off the edge. I cast a quick glance at the boy. Why did he help me? I look away. No one would've done that if they knew. I wish it would all go away. I feel great in my tree, though. And it'd be better at night, when I couldn't be seen, but could see them. I smirk to myself.

It was gone. My time was here. No moon in the sky, no stars to cast a shadow, giving my presence away. I jump off the tree without a sound.
