  • Malia Foster walks the lonely 9 blocks to her tri-weekly theatre lessons, they were practicing Les Miserables and she was the part of Eponine, the jilted girl who was unloved by many, and loved by few. She had no idea who would play Marius...perhaps he would be different from those who taunted her? More likely he would not. She ran her fingers through her collar-bone length black hair that had a single white streak, she turned her green eyes on the busy New York streets, remaining invisible...or so she thought

  • She pondered the thought yet again of her past...the fire, the screams, and the tremendous guilt she felt at surviving. She inhaled sharply as she pushed the thoughts out of her mind, turning a corner and reaching the theatre building which was painted in dramatic shades of crimson, black, and a dark golden yellow. She pushed through a group of girls and sat down in a corner. Watching the varied groups chattering wondering who was playing who...

  • Jacob Samuelson sat just a little ways away, his face covered by a Dark grey hoodie. Whenever he was he would have to hide his indentiy or people would recognize him. Everyone at his school knew him, only because he was the biggest "Bad Boy" in his school. He got in a lot of fights, and he wasn't very talkative or sociable. When something bad happened, he was the first to be blamed. So why would anyone ever even think he wanted to be a singer when he grew up? So what he took acting classes so he could get used to being on stage. How could the "Jacob Samuelson" be in an acting club? Well, first off he wasn't like how everyone thought he was. He was actually pretty good in school, got good grades, and had a talent with his voice. he was very calm and kind once someone got to know him, and he had a knack for playing Guitar. No one never knows it though. He hates everyone else at his school. They all think they are better than everyone else. these snotty stuck up kids will go to any level to just be popular. He pulled his hood closer to his face as he looked at the teacher who came by him." Okay Christopher( the fake name he used to keep his identity safe) you will be playing Marius. Good luck" the teacher said, handing him his script. He took it hesitantly as he read it over with his icy blue eyes. He felt people looking at him and whispering. He could hear a group of girls laughing and giggling uncontrollably. He then heard laughs echo through his mind like they usually did when this sorta stuff happened. Yep... He had been bullied as a kid. And not just little teasing, no he was severely beaten and threatened several times. And by the same people who thought of him as the Bad Boy. That is mostly why he is the bad boy. So people will leave him alone. Nothing was super wrong with him either. He was kinda muscular, had long, thick black hair in a emo cut sorta. And he was medium sized. Not too small, or too tall. He was picked on because he told people he wanted to become a singer. Every dude at his school was supposed to become a athlete or lawyer. So he was made fun of constantly. By everyone. Boys, Girls, sometimes even adults. Like his father. His father was a super successful but abusive man, and wanted his only son Jacob to follow in his footsteps. And with a drunk for a mother, a father who beats him, it's no wonder he became the bad boy. He sighed as he leaned back in his chair, as he looked around for the other people who would be playing different parts.

  • The teacher called out to a boy named Christopher, and told him he would play Marius, and told everyone else who they were playing. Sure enough she was given the part of Eponine. The part of Cosette went to a box blonde who had too much Mmakeup on named Lindsey King, who kept turning her glance to Christopher, trying to catch his attention. It was safe to say thse girls did not like eachother. The chattering ended when the teacher announced fos the class to find a partner with whom they were to practice singing. Malia watced as Lindsey made a beeline for Christopher but was distracted by Griffin Parks who was playing Jean ValJean. Feeling a foriegn feeling in her chest as she did something very unlike herself. Her legs carried her over to where the hooded teen was sitting. All shecould see was his black hair as she spoke, "m-My name is Malia...will you partner with me?" As she waited for his reply, out of the corner of her eye she saw a very annoyed, very angry lookin Lindsey....

  • Jacob looked up to look her straight in the eyes. He also noticed Lindesy over in the corner of his eye. She looked furious. Jacob turned his attention back to Malia. Normally, the tea her let him sing alone. But something was different about this girl than any of the others. She was the only one who didn't look fake. She was the only one who was trying to look like a model. She was... Herself." I'm J.... Christopher. Yeah I will be your partner" he said, mentally hitting himself for almost slipping up his real name. He sat up a bit in his chair and he leaned over his his knees. He moved his hood back into place where it had moved when he talked to Malia.

  • I smile slightly at the boys acceptance and I ask him, "Shall we practice A Little Fall of Rain?" I look at the sheet of songs the teacher handed out and started to sing,
"DONT YOU FRET MONSIUER MARIUS, I DONT FEEL ANY PAIN...A LITTLE FALL OF RAIN CAN HARDLY HURT ME NOW...YOU'RE HERE THAT'S ALL I NEED TO KNOW...AND YOU WILL KEEP ME SAFE...AND YOU WILL KEEP ME SAFE...AND RAIN WILL MAKE THE FLOWERS GROW..."
I stop singing ad look at you expectantly waiting for you to sing your part

  • Jacob hesitated but sat up and looked at his paper as he sang.
"...OH MADAME EPONINE! WHAT WOULD I DO WITHOUT MY SUNSHINE.... I DON'T FEEL PAIN EITHER...THIS RAIN IS KEPT AWAY... BY WHO YOU ASK?.... WELL YOU OF COURSE...I WANT TO KEEP YOUR LIGHT FOR MYSELF... YEAH THAT'S RIGHT... I CAN'T HELP BUT BE SELFISH... BUT ALL I WANT IS YOUR LIGHT....
he finished singing as he noticed some other blonde girls turn to him. They looked at him with awe. He blushed slightly but ignored it. Had he really sang that loud. He looked at her and waited for her to continue the song.

  • She smiles closing her eyes singing the words to her favorite song,
"THE RAIN THAT BRINGS YOU HERE IS HEAVEN BLESSED. THE STARS BEGIN TO SHINE, AND IM AT REST.
A BREATH AWAY... FROM WHERE YOU ARE...I'VE COME HOME, FROM SO FAR....
THIS RAIN, WILL WASH AWAY WHAT'S PAST, AND YOU WILL KEEP ME SAFE AND YOU WILL KEEP ME CLOSE...I'LL SLEEP IN YOUR EMBRACE AT LAST!"
I finish the song opening my eyes finding myself incredibly close to Christopher, realizing I had unconsciously moved closer to him while singing. I start to move until I catch a glimpse of his face. He had the most intoxicating eyes you'd ever seen. As they stared at her with a mixture of emotions Malia found herself unable...unwilling to move from the boy

  • Jacob looked into the girls eyes as she finished the song. She had the most perfect of voices he had ever heard. It was like her words were a breeze of wind or a bird singing but all in one. He looked at the teacher who was clapping happily." Wonderful! Just wonderful! You too are the best duet I have ever heard in my entire career" she exclaimed happily. Jacob shrugged. He had been told multiple times by this very teacher that he had a amazing voice and he had a talent that he should not waste. He nodded and looked at everyone else who was watching them. Some clapped. Some Blondes sent disgusted looks at Malia. And even a few guys eyes him suspiciously. He ignored their looks and turned back to Malia." You have a good voice" he said quietly while he kept his face looking down at his paper. He pulled his head down for a second to rub his neck. But he quickly had it pulled back up.

  • I smile and say, "So do you." They stand there for a moment when Lindsey walks up to them. So Malia, tell me, how does it feel to have a minor role AGAIN?" she asks mockingly. When Malia said nothing, Lindsey turned her attention to Christopher. "What are doing wasting time with THAT excuse for talent? Come with me and I'll give you what you deserve..." Lindsey said edductively placing her hands on Christopher's chest

  • Jacob rolled his eyes." Uh.... Sorry to ruin your moment of fun but I would rather not. And by the way, it doesnt matter who has the better part. It matters who has the better talent" he muttered coldly. He dint like this girl and he didnt like her anymore now that she was making fun of Maila. He moved her hands off his chest. He then sat down in his chair and pulled his hoody to block his face again like he had it. He then checked his watch, stood up and passed by both of the girls, with his paper in his hands. He said goodbye to the teacher as he left class 30 minutes early. He shook hi head in disgust. How dared this girl treat someone like that and then try to make him feel better than that same person just because he looked "Hot" to this girl. Anger boiled up inside him. As he was passing by the abounded building next door, he punched his fist into one of the windows. He panted as he pulled his fist out. It was all bloody and a few prices of glass stuck in his fist. But he didn't care. He pulled the glass shards out and wrapped up his hand with his hoody which he took off.

  • Jacob turned and looked at her. He still was holding his hoody around his hand." How..... How do you know my name?" He asked as he looked at her with a curious look." But don't mention Malia. I wasn't just going to sit there and let someone say that to you. Anyone actually" Jacob murmured as looked at her.

  • Malia smiled and said, "I went to school with you in 5th grade...I remember I always wanted my eyes to look like yours!" As she said this she boldly stepped forward and brushed his black hair out of his face looking him in the eyes. "Why are you hiding your face?" She asked him

  • Jacob hesitated as he blushed a little. He blinked his icy blue eyes. There was a haunted look in his pretty eyes that he knew he couldn't get rid of. He shook his head. He wanted to Not say anything at all. But that was just as good as lieing. He sighed." It's a long... Painful story.... That I don't really think you don't have time for. The main reason why I hide... Is because people can't know who I am. I, Jacob, can't be seen going to a theatre and taking classes because the cycle will start again" Jacob said as he held back his tears. He had to stay strong. He couldn't start sobbing at the thought of why he does the things he does.

  • Jacob nodded as he shook his head and flexed his bloody. " if you wanna talk about it, we can go sit just behind the theatre. There is bench there and a ladder that leads up o the roof" Jacob said as he gestured towards the back of the Theatre." No one knows about, so it's private" Jacob said as a their acting class let out into the sidewalk. Kids passed by them, including Lindesy, who glared at both of them. Jacob didn't even look at her. Who didn't care that she was upset. He could care less about anybody like her.

  • Jacob walked around the back of the theatre as he climbed up the metal fence blocking their way. He grabbed the chain and unlocked it as he slid open the fence gate. He waited for her to come in through.
