Firestar heard a furious voice snarl. He gulped, begging for air. A silver tendril was looped around his neck, tightening each time he struggled to free himself. Blood turned the tendril bright red. Yes. He was caught in a fox trap. He let his head fall to the ground, panting with the effort to breath. Im going to die. Firestar thought grimly. Im going to die in a twoleg trap.

Firestars vision began to blur, the trees swaying back and forth like a wave. He could hear snarling. Who was it? These cats werent helping him. Were they rogues? Or clan cats wanting to kill him…?

Firestars head ached, and he suddenly saw a dark brown tabby blur leap at him. B…Brambleclaw? Firestar thought hazily in disbelief. No… He wouldn't try to… Firestar flinched as sharp claws peirced his shoulder. With a moan of defeat, Firestars vision turned pitch black.

"Firestar?"
Firestars eyes were closed. He couldn't feel any pain in his neck. Im in Starclan. He thought. Brambleclaw finished me off when I blacked out, and now Spottedleaf is waking me. We'll hunt together, and share tongues with Bluestar, Yellowfang, and Lionheart. Ill watch over Thunderclan…

"He's breathing!" He heard a sigh of relief.

Firestar opened his eyes, his surroundings slowly turning into focus. His daughter, Leafpool was standing over him, looking down at him anxiously.
"Oh thank Starclan!" She sighed. "i thought you'd joined Starclan..." She nuzzled her fathers flank.

Behind Leafpool, Squirrelflight sat beside Ashfur. "He's ok!" She meowed, face full of relief.

Firestar examined himself. No wonder he couldnt feel any pain in his neck. Leafpool had plastered cobwebs all around where the tendril was, and he could see dry blood on them.

"Firestar!"

Firestar looked up to see his mate, Sandstorm race into the den, covering him with licks.
"Oh Firestar, dont go hunting on your own again!" She begged, nuzzling him. "You'll wander into another trap."

"Thank Starclan Brambleclaw was there." Added Squirrelflight, flicking her tail.

"B-Brambleclaw?" Firestar echoed, glancing at the clawmarks on his shoulder. He realized there were more on his neck and along his back.

"Yes." Squirrelflight replied, purring. "He says he saved your life after you wandered into the trap."

Ashfur shot Squirrelflight a glance, jealousy in his dark blue gaze.

"Firestar!" Brambleclaw rushed into the den. "Your ok!" His amber eyes glowed in the dim den, and Firestar couldnt help but back away when he saw the blood on his deputys paws. His blood.

He got to his paws, narrowing his eyes. "Your wrong, Squirrelflight. Brambleclaw tried to kill me!"

Brambleclaws eyes widened, and Squirrelflight stared at Firestar in bewilderment. "You must still be a bit out, Firestar. Brambleclaw would never try to kill a cat!"

"No." Firestar snapped at her. "I know when a cat tries to kill me. I saw you jump at me to attack me." He added coldly to Brambleclaw. "I have these clawmarks to prove it."

Brambleclaw froze. "No, That was-" He broke off, as if if he finished his sentence, some cat would kill him. He looked down, pain sparkling his gaze. "Me... That- That was me..."

Sandstorm and Leafpool were shocked. Ashfurs eyes even widened in surprise.

Squirrelflight looked more astonished then any of them. She padded over to Brambeclaw. "It cant be true... Brambleclaw, please... Please tell me its not true."

Brambleclaw looked her in the eyes, hurt beyond any pain in his eyes. "It... Its true."

Squirrelflight slowly backed away, pain glistening in her eyes. She whimpered and burried her muzzle into Ashfurs flank, wailing. "How could he..."

Firestar stood up, padding straight past Brambleclaw and into the clearing. The cats behind him followed. He leaped ontop of his den, calling a clan meeting. Cats soon gathered.

"Cats of thunderclan." Firestar meowed, voice crackling. "Brambleclaw tricked me into a fox trap. And then he tried to kill me."

Shocked yowls answered him.
"Brambleclaw?" Meowed Whitepaw in disbelief.
"He is Tigerstars son." Rainwhisker murmered.
"Always knew he had his fathers darkness..." Meowed Dustpelt.

"Brambleclaw." Growled Firestar, eyes pinning him. "Leave Thunderclan now. You are no longer my Deputy, or a Warrior."

Brambleclaw bowed his head. "But..."

Firestar snarled. "You are banished from Thunderclan. If any cat sees you in our territory, they can kill you."

Brambleclaw nodded slowly, padding towards the enterence as cats growled and snapped at him.

"Traitor!"

Squirrelflight suddenly leaped in Brambleclaws path. "So." She growled, pain lighting her gaze. "I can see we arent going to work out. Ashfurs way better then you."

Brambleclaw blinked sadly. "You dont understand-"

"oh, i do." Growled Squirrelflight. "Your just like Tigerstar. I should have seen that from the beginning." She padded back to Ashfur, greeting him with a rusty purr.

Brambleclaw sighed and padded out, his tail tip vanishing in the ferns. He was a rogue now. He had almost reached the border when a dark brown tabby cat emerged from a bush. "Why, hello Brambleclaw." He sat down. "I listened from the enterence. So Firestar really believes you tried to kill him, eh? Good thing we look alike. Thats how he mistaked me for you attacking him. And that blood on your paws for this nasty wound you gave me after you stopped me." He meowed, flicking his tail to a gash on his back.

"Hawkfrost!" Brambleclaw yowled, leaping at his half brother and pinning him by the throat. "How dare you! You've made me throw away everything!" He spat.

"My clan!" He dug his claws into his throat. "My future mate!" He dug harder. "My future kits!" Harder. "Everything!" He dug even harder, clumps of blood plastered to his paws.

Hawkfrost made a strange bubbling noise, blood flowing out of his throat. "Oh, Brambleclaw!" He rasped, grinning. "Thank you for this." As he spoke blood ran faster out of the wound. "Now, me and Tigerstar can see you in dreams every night." his icey eyes blazed. "And we can punish you over and over again for not killing the kittypet." Hawkfrost went limp, eyes glazing over.

I rember that. Ashfur lurked nearby hiding hoping that firestar would die in the trap but seeing hawkfrost was there and brambleclaw there was an even better chance for ashfur's plan to succed but then it back fired. anyway. I so want to be deputy. But seeing shade wants it I'll back down. I don't want to fight but I do have something to say. no one loves Ashfur more. those who love him heaps are equal to those who also love him a lot. if there were people complaining over it like me and shade once did then it would do no good for the community. your lucky I had a slightly good day today or I would have never have typed this up.
