    IC- Blossomtail stood on the out skirts of camp. She eyes were closed as the early morning rays warmed her face. The wind ruffled her hair a tad bit and her ears stood attention. The medicine cat was ready for a new day to start.


    Silverfeather woke up in pain. Her belly was cramping as the kits tossed and turned. She was close now to giving birth and had mood swings constently. The poor girl was almost always in pain now and couldn't wait to bring new life into the clan. She missed her mate. Spottedshadow died fighting for his clan. Fighting for the kits and her to stay safe. This brought a tear to Sliverfeather's eye as she remembered the tom. Soon the she-cat was heaving silent sobs.

    Stonesplash walked in the nursery, hearing the sobs and sat down. "You alright, Silverfeather?" the warrior asked, concerned. "Maybe she had had a bad dream... or she was still missing her mate... which was completely normal... Or maybe... " He shook his head, trying to get rid of the many thoughts and smiled encouragingly.

    Poppyfire stood, her flame colored fur billowing slightly. The deputy padded through the clearing, her head help high as her brilliant green eyes scanned the clan. She dipped her head into the warriors den. and sighed. What has become of me when I can't think properly? She thought to herself, slightly shaking her head. The she-cat sat down, her fur ruffled from the merciless wind. She laid her head between her paws as her thoughts drifted off into oblivion...

    Stonesplash almost had to cry himself, he felt so bad for her. He laid down in front of her and laid his front paw on her head in a comforting manner. "You'll be a great mother, Silverfeather. You're not alone in this, you have the whole clan to help you" he meowed with a soft voice. "She puts herself down too much... Why can't she just trust herself a bit more? She's strong and smart enough..."

"Ouch." She said softly, the kit caught her by surprise. "See? The kits already hate me!" She said and tears streamed down her cheeks. The she-cat closed her eyes and sent a prayer to Spottedshadow, oh how she missed him!




    Blossomtail heard the other cats stirring and got up herself. She headed back into camp and one her way to her den she past the nursery. Hearing Silverfeather's cries she frowned. The two cats had been close as kits and Silverfeather's pain was her own...

    Warmstar padded to Blossomtail. He heard Silverfeather's cries of despair and tried not to sit down and scream, "I'M SO SORRY!" He instead tried to lighten the mood by stepping in. "Silverfeather," he began. "when you were a warrior, I remember seeing you catch so many voles, I was sure thye'd made you a fan club!" he teased.

    Stonesplash shook his head. "You're wrong, Silverfeather. You're very, very wrong. They're just becoming too big for your belly and are trying to get some more space", he reasoned as he tried to calm her down. He felt so, so, so, so sorry for her knowing that he was one of the reasons Spottedshadow had died. He had been in the same battle and if it hadn't been for Spottedshadow, he had been the dead cat... He had been good friends with the tom and he now felt responsible for the queen, seeing he was the reason of her mournings. "I'm sure he's proud of you, I just know it!"
    And then, he noticed the leader. "Hi!"

    Blossomtail sprang inside. "What hurts?" She asked and Silverfeather pointed to her belly. Blossomtail nodded and started to give out orders.

    Splashstone stood up and went over to Warmstar. "Same problems again... I wish I could turn back the time and stop Spottedshadow from saving me..." he confessed to the leader as he watched the scene unfold. "Maybe she'd be happier that way...?"

    Blossmtail turned to look at everyone there. "I need wet moss, a stick and poppy seeds STAT!" She yelled above Silverfeather. "Don't worry sweetie, I'm here." She said softly. "Deep breaths Silverfeather, we will make it through this."

    Warmstar scrambled like eggs to find a stick. He climbed uo the willow by his den, broke off a branch and jumped down, landing on his face. He got up and ran to Blossomtail.

    Stonesplash nodded and left the nursery in a hurry. He grabbed some poppy seeds, or at lest he hoped it were poppy seeds, before padding back in. "Here... We're all with you, Silverfeather!" he meowed as he dropped everything. His words were sincere as his brain made extra hours. "What if... What if..."

    "Good" Blossomtail said. "Now Silverfeather, I want you to bite down on this branch when the pain hits." She said and Silverfeather nodded taking the limb in her mouth.

    Stonesplash stepped forward and laid his tail on her back. "Like I said, the clan is with you", he meowed with a soft and encouraging voice. His grey and black tail moved a bit as the kits kicked, but he kept it in place. He had promised to Spottedshadow he'd look after her and he was going to do that no matter what.


    And Warmstar... it seemed as if Spottedshadow had something to do with her as well, she seemed a bit too down when he had died to just be a normal warrior. He had probably done something good and she felt bad for it as well. The whole clan did.

Blossomtail stood up with a smile on her face. Silverfeather purred with delight at her three new kits. She was also filled with fear though for what lay in the future.

    "Congratulations, Silverfeather. Three beautiful kits!" Stonesplash meowed with a smile as he licked them warm before placeing them close to her. "It's not my job, but I just had to do it... Was that wrong? I hope it wasn't..." He watched them squirm over the ground and... a tear fell on the ground.
