Smokekit giggled -mamma, did your mamma die?- she asked randomly

"Yes before you were born why?" She nuzzled her kit.

"I was talking to her" smokekit mewed innocently, stretching her legs out in front of her

Goldenlily stared at her, "Blackfoot!" She called not takng her eyes off of her.

Blackfoot ran over thinking something was wrong "Is she ok? what happened?"

Goldenlily nuzzled Smokekit, "Go on, tell him what you saw my sweet."

"I saw momma's mommy and some other cats who told me they died before I was born" Smokekit meowed afraid that she was in trouble

Goldenlily looked at Blackclaw waiting for his responce.

Blackfoot smiled "What did they tell you?"
"I'm not supposed to say"
"OK little one, I will go fetch you a nice mouse" he walked out of the den

"Smokekit, can you tell me?" She asked.

"no mommy, Specklestar told me not to" she looked sad, and felt like she was disappointing her mother. She really did want to tell her mother that she would be the next leader, and it was up to her to be the best she can to fulfill some prophesy... but she did not want to disappoint Specklestar

Goldenlily licked her daughters head, "Its always good to listen to our ansestors, but if its someething bad you must tell someone you trust, it doesnt matter who just a good secret keeper."

"its nothing bad momma I promise" she mewed just as blackfoot padded back in with a 2 mouse for the kit and queen

Goldenlily nuzzled Smokekit, "Okay good." She looked up at Blackfoot, "Are those for us?" She asked.

Goldenlily smiled and bowed her head, "Thank you." She said politely, "Smokekit say your thanks to Blackfoot." She told her daughter.

Smokekit giggled "thank you blackfoot" suddenly her smile went away "where is daddy?"

"Sandclaw and Gingerkit are in the nursery." She purred, "Their safe dont worry."

"Can I go back to the nursery? Its cold in here" she pouted looking up at her mom and resting her tail on Beechkit's flank
