"Hey," Kokuei said, flying up to the tree and stopping in front of Marcie, "you okay?"
-
"I'm fine" she lied sniffling slightly
-
"What's wrong?" Kokuei asked gently, landing next to her and pulling her into his arms.
-
"I just don't understand I did nothing wrong!" She cried
-
"Well…people are afraid of others with powers they don't understand," Kokuei said in a soothing voice.
-
"But I would never hurt anyone...."
-
"So.. how do you plan to find out why I am still in limbo?" She asked aware that she was being folloed
-
"I know," Kokuei said simply, unsure of what he could say to reassure her.
"I was going to research your life tomorrow at the library," Yukio answered calmly.
-
Marcie cried softly
-
"Come on," Kokuei said quietly, gently wrapping his arms around her waist again. He took off again, this time leading her to a new part of the forest; a remote river with all types of trees surrounding it.
-
She smiled a bit comforted by the whispery voices of the trees
-
Kokuei set Marcie down and silently leaped to a stone in the middle of the river. He settled down in a meditation position, closing his eyes and listening to the voices of the wind and river. As he did this, the ring on his finger moved by itself, removing itself from his fingers and floating in front of him. After a few minutes, it reverted to it's original form; a large pearly white orb that seemed to have a mind of it's own.
-
Marcie floated up into the nearest tree and sat in it listening to all it had to say
-
Kokuei smiled as he played with the orb, chuckling to himself as it danced around him. After a bit, he closed his eyes again and changed it into a necklace with a two-tailed fox connected to the chain. He caught it in his hand, then made his way to the tree Marcie resided in.
-
Marcie laughed softly "Wow you all are so happy!"
-
"Are they?" Kokuei asked softly, pausing before adding, "the river is too, but the wind is indifferent as always."
-
Marcie smiled then grew pale "Ari's coming"
-
"Ari?" Kokuei asked worriedly, forgetting about the necklace he'd shoved into his pocket.
-
"She's the jailer of my old court...." Fear lit up her eyes "We need to go now"
