  • "Hey, I give you nicknames cause I care!" Ai giggled, standing on her tiptoes and messing with Aatu's hair.

  • Aatu's eyes narrowed at her in annoyance, but he had to smile a little bit, "Alright that's enough." His gaze seemed to soften a little bit as he thought, 'She really is a odd human..'

  • "Don't glare. Your face might freeze like that." Ai said, smiling. She then hugged Aatu."That's for letting me be your friend." Ai said, that goofy grin still plastered on her face. In truth, she sorta like liked Aatu. But if she admitted that....it might be akaward.

  • Aatu froze for a few moments, unsure of how to react, after a few long moments he hugged her back. His gaze settled upon Ai's face and he had to smile. She was so... pure and innocent, and he vowed to himself that he would protect her, no matter what the price. He didn't know why he was acting like this, especially with a human, but he had to admit that she had been an exception to his beliefs of all human being evil. He finally, gently pulled away from the hug and raised an eyebrow at Ai, "So what should we do now?"

  • [align=center]"Don't know." Ai admitted, giggling a bit. She sat down in a bale of hay."Any ideas?" she asked, put her head on one hand.

  • He shrugged, not knowing at all either. He sat down on the floor, staring outside of the barn, thinking. He didn't have a clue what he should do next and; considering that he had human as company there wasn't that many options. Going into the city as a human would be risky, considering that if he got startled or sensed something dangerous he would most likely shift into his true form as a wolf and that would put both of them wanted by the government. Aatu frowned, there was so little that he knew about humans... not that he'd even tried to understand humans and human activities, but it would've been more useful if he knew. Glancing over towards Ai, he watched her with piercing blue eyes, though he was reluctant to admit it to himself, she was pretty.... for a human that is. He immediately stamped down on the thought and turned away. Great, more human emotions that he didn't have time for or needed. Throughly irritated with himself, he shifted formed, walked over to Ai and laid down next to the bale of hay, a snort coming from him as he watched her from his place.

  • "I guess kicking back it is." Ai said, flopping down on her back."Hey Aatu, did....did you ever have a girlfriend when wolves were still around?" Ai asked, staring up at the sky."I'm just curious." she add. She blew away a piece of hair from her eyes.

  • Aatu's ears perked, generally surprised Ai would ask a question like that, the surprise shown in his eyes but then he shifted again, looking up at the sky, he said with caution, "When I took the leadership position over my pack, I was supposed to have a mate but... no one ever caught my attention, plus I was too worried over my pack's sudden disappearance to even give any thought to it. In summary, I was always alone." His facial expression was hard to read, but there was a sadness in hs eyes hidden yet somewhat visible as he continued, "So, in other words, no."

  • "Aatu, why have you always tried to be a loner? It might be bad for your health." Ai stated, worry flickering across her voice. She sat up."Aatu, you know, I'm always there for you. Please don't forget that." Ai begged. She got up, and walked over to Aatu, and sat down next to him. She instantly hugged him, her arms trembling.

  • Aatu froze, his gaze on Ai, wrapping his arms around her, he pulled her closer and murmured softly, "Ai... why do you care, for me.... I really don't deserve your kindness..." He kissed the top of her head and whispered, "Thank you."

  • "I care because you're my friend. You do deserve kindness, I just guess no one has ever shown it to you." Ai said, burying her face into Aatu."No problem." Ai replied back, letting her grip loosen a bit.

  • He smiled faintly, letting her go a little bit; his gaze still remained on her though; but his facial exression was once again the blank mask before it settled on gentle, tender expression.

  • "Aatu, why do you choose to hide your feelings?" Ai asked, looking up at Aatu. She was clingy onto him like a small child.

  • Aatu frowned slightly, "My feelings aren't important Ai."

  • Aatu leaned his head forward towards Ai, eyes narrowed, "Ai... trust me, you don't want to know my emotions. Beside, there is no need for emotions or expressions." He seemed to be struggling, he glanced away from her seeming to be frustrated by something. After a few long moments, a grim smile crossed his face as he turned his head towards her and gently touched the side of her face.

  • "Aatu, I do want to know your feelings. How am I supposed to know when to cheer you up when you're sad?" Ai asked, her eyes softening."And I want to be able to be your friend. Not just someone you can talk to, but someone you can rely on." Ai said, her eyes suddenly narrowing."I just don't want to be a person you brush off."

  • His jaw clenched as he glared at her, his blue eyes gaining a feral anger as he growled lowly, "Ai... do you actually believe I would brush you off?" Aatu murmured, "I don't want you to get hurt, I want to protect you.." His eyes focused upon her face, "I do accept you as a friend... but, do not expect for me to show my emotions, it's for your own saftey... please understand that I'm doing this to protect you." Without another word, he shifted forms and wiggled his way out of Ai's arms, his black fur was bristled though as if still angered, tail lashing back and forth as he stared at her, with narrowed eyes.

  • "Aatu... You're silly." Ai half heartily giggled, smiling."I'll be fine. No need to worry because of me." Ai added. Inside, her heart clutched, her sadness deepening. She cared so much for the black wolf she came to know. And now it was her turn to make him feel welcomed.

  • Aatu looked away from her, he laid down and rested his head on the ground as he stared at her. He relaxed only slightly as he thought, 'I always will protect you... always.'
